Falling Waters' name truly describes the property. It is rustic and lovely. This is the view from the dining table which is where we spent most of our in home time. The cabin is nicely decorated and well supplied. It was convenient to the locations we wanted to visit. It was our first visit to this area of the Finger Lakes and we found much to see, to taste, and to dine (although we had most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen at the cabin). Our only heads up is that our GPS got us to the property, but not the access drive. Look for the two waste cans and mail box with no house in sight and you have nailed it.
My wife and I couldn't have been happier wit our stay. The beds were comfy, the house was immaculate, loved having a washer and dryer, the kitchen was well appointed, and of course, the waterfalls in the backyard was amazing. The house was also a very short drive to the town of Naples, and maybe 30 minutes to Canadaqua.
The only negative I had is the WiFi isn't real great, but I really could have cared leas.
Thanks so much Ian for making your house available to us.
This property was excellent. Well equipped and well located and very clean. We would stay there again. My only complaint was that the entrance to the apartment was a bit tricky. It was uphill, uneven, and very dark at night. Needs some better lighting.
Comfortable house overall and very close to town of Naples which has a grocery store, wonderful restaurant (Roots Cafe), a farmers market and several quaint shops. We are a family of four with two tall teenagers so we did use a air mattress to make the sleeping arrangements more comfortable. The only other recommendation I would have is fans in the bedrooms because it can get warm at night, the AC works great at cooling off the main living area however. The waterfall is beautiful out the kitchen window and we loved the jacuzzi. We played a lot of scrabble which was fun and unplugged from the T.V...didn’t even miss it. Comfortable kitchen to cook in and plenty of cookware and utensils.
Ian is an amazing host. He made sure our stay was perfect.
The house is fully stocked with everything you need for a great stay. Nothing was forgotten, from spices and aluminum foil for cooking to soap and extra paper towels & tissues. Ian is an amazing host. He went above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend staying in one of his properties.
Great relaxation time in a calm environment
My boyfriend and I had a relaxing and romantic stay at falling waters retreat. The cottage was very homey and comfortable. We played some board games, watched a little TV and hung out in the hot tub. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with all the appliances we needed (except a cast iron pan but we bought one) however the cleanliness of the coffee pot made us not use it because even after a thorough cleaning ourselves there was some grime that we couldn't get past. The only thing that was a tad off putting about our stay was the smell of the water. Granted we were warned that well water was in use and to beware of the smell. But still we weren't prepared enough for the intense smell of sulfur every time water was ran. The smell was so strong it made us very uncomfortable showering and brushing our teeth (we used bottle water for our teeth) and is the only reason we probs wouldn't stay at this particular place again. However the falls from the kitchen window isn't a year round all the time thing which was totally cool. Communication with our host was also spotty at times. Although we might not stay at this particular cottage again or would definitely visit the town of Naples again. We went on a hike at the High Tor Wildlife Area and it was energizing and beautiful. I highly recommend the trail that leads to the bridge and the waterfall. Joseph's Market is a very cute place for delicious produce and fresh bread. We also visited Roots Cafe for dinner and the Redwood Restaurant for breakfast at the end of our stay. Both places are must visits. This vacation was a great reprieve from the city :)
We are glad you enjoyed the area and want to apologize again about the water issue . We have a water system that had some issues over the month that we where not made aware of until most of these reviews came through stating it was an issue. With that being said the water system is working as it should and will not be an issue for future guests reading this. We have also since replaced the coffee pot as you had requested for future guests to enjoy . We would gladly invite you back to visit the area and stay at one of other rentals in the future so please don’t hesitate to contact us to learn about other other great locations in the Fingerlakes Area .
