Arrived to find the property unclean, beds stripped, dirty towels hanging in the bathrooms, dirty toilets, and dirty kitchen counters, sink and dishwasher. Obviously no cleaning crew was scheduled. Upon contacting the owner, he stated “I didn’t think you were arriving until tomorrow”. Then he agreed it was entirely his mistake, and a cleaning crew arrived 2 hours later, completing the work 4 hours after our arrival. We went ahead and cleaned the kitchen ourselves, asking house guests to delay moving in and we ate our dinner outside on the deck while the crew worked. The owner acknowledged I would be looking for a credit of some kind to address this delay. Upon communication after our stay, he simply offered his apology. Said he paid his cleaning crew double and that was all he could do. When you sell a home use by the hour and you don’t get your time, would you appreciate a owner that steps up and credits you for the embarrassment of his failure and want to make it right? Yeah. That didn’t happen. Renter beware, we won’t be back.
