Why Carole Lufburrow chose Highlands
I wanted a Cottage close to town, spacious enough to entertain family and friends with a large screened porch and wood burning fireplace. I also wanted something that I could renovate and add my personal touches.
What makes this Cottage unique
Close to town, level parking for year round use, wonderful fireplace and porch and plenty of room/spaces to relax and unwind.

Great Mountain House
This is a great house for a mountain getaway! Convenient to town and grocery store. Great kitchen and furnishings. Owners were great to work with. I would highly recommend this house if you are going to Highlands.
Glad you enjoyed your Holiday stay at my Sa-Hi Cottage.
The owner was great to work with!!
Our family loved our stay at Sa-hi cottage. The home was clean and spacious with a peaceful cozy feeling. The enclosed porch was perfect for rocking and morning coffee. Our family enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls and walking trails. We have no hesitation in recommending others to stay here.
Lovely property located very close to downtown.
The home was just as listed on VRBO. The bedrooms were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels for all visiting this weekend. The kitchen was well-equipped and although we didn't cook, we could have prepared a gourmet meal. We loved that every room had a television. The den and reading nook were very cozy and we burned a lot of wood in the fireplace. Good visit and we will stay there again. Carole (owner) was so easy to deal with and returned my texts immediately.
The cottage was warm and welcoming, tastefully decorated , and just a very short drive into town.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sa-Hi cottage in Highlands. The house is very spacious. The Kitchen is beautiful and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The three larger bedrooms have lovely, comfy beds, comforters and pillows. We did not use the small bedroom with twin beds; but would probably be okay for small children. Bathrooms are well-equipped with lots of plush towels. My two Afghan hounds especially enjoyed the fabulous screened in porch in the early mornings and late evenings.
Everything was cleaned really well before our arrival, except for the open side porch. We could not sit on mildewed outdoor cushions and the outdoor grill was unusable.
My only real complaint would be the lack of central air. The master bedroom a.c. unit worked very well, but the kitchen unit was not adequate to cool off the rest of the house.
Bedroom 2 and 3 are downstairs, and it was quite warm and uncomfortable for those guests.
Also, upon entering , the house has a very musty odor, similar to any lake or beach cottage without central air.
Overall, it was a very good experience and we really loved the town of Highlands! Just a note of caution for travelers from the flatlands (we are from South Florida), be sure to have an all wheel drive vehicle. We had a large conversion van (no all wheel drive), and it was a harrowing experience each time we went down the mountain and up again. The roads are narrow, winding , steep and terrifying with long stretches of no railings!
Would love to visit again, if I can face the fear of the roads.

Thanks for your review.
Although the downstairs not have central air, it does have ceiling fans and screens on the windows - which at 4000+ feet makes night time sleeping so wonderful if you just open the windows.
New gas grill has been added since your stay.
Your stay during Hurricane Irma - which also impacted the Highlands area, made for a wet get away so I apologize if the cushions were damp on the screen porch.
It was due to the 4 inches plus of rain that we received during Irma....
Definitely will return. Very commodious and convenient
Spacious, well appointed and very convenient!!
Loved the location, screened porch and deck.
Thanks. Glad that you enjoyed your winter get away to Highlands!
Sa-hi is a short walk, bike or drive to Main Street for shopping and dining options. There's a wonderful spa less than a mile from the front door... Located just a few miles from scenic waterfalls and hiking trails plus fishing, rafting, other water sports and bird watching. Or stay at Sa-Hi and relax inside, on the screened porch or the deck!!
