About Carl Larson
I have lived in Washington for the last 30 years. I built the Foxglove house and my shop in 1991, and raised my two daughters here. I am a woodworker, building cabinets, furniture and lighting and work and live on the property.
Carl Larson purchased this House in 1991
Why Carl Larson chose Poulsbo
Kitsap county is within easy access to Seattle, olympic peninsula and many small towns. I chose this property for its beauty and privacy and access to community.

Perfect place for a group gathering
Carl's place was exactly what we needed for getting away for a few days. The house came with everything we needed for a pleasurable and easy stay. The location was removed from distraction but close enough to civilization for us to pop out for food and supplies. Carl was very responsive to our every question. Thanks for a great time!
Absolutely wonderful place!
Charming, quiet place out in the woods but close to town. Wonderful accommodating owner that let us have a relaxing wedding weekend. I will be thinking about this place for the next chance to come to poulsbo!
Perfect Getaway Home
We booked this home for a 3-family mother/daughter get away. It was perfect for so many reasons: the 4 bedrooms/3 bathrooms gave everyone enough space, the dining room table was perfect for 500 piece puzzles or seating all 7 for a meal, the yard was great for playing games of badminton with the provided rackets, the kitchen was large and open and had all the things we needed to make a few meals....I could go on! The home is isolated so you feel like you are in your own oasis away from city life surrounded by trees and nature! The drive into Poulsbo is only about 10-15 minutes so you can get anything you need or just enjoy the shops and restaurants.
Carl was a great host - quick to answer texts and stopped by to check on us. He had great recommendations for a dinner in town (Pallea bar for Tapas) and grocery shopping. One of the special joys was Helen, the sweet cat who often sleeps on the upper balcony and enjoys getting attention! Everyone loved a visit with Helen!
The home itself is even more amazing than the pictures show - it is all hand crafted by Carl and is beautiful! Plenty of games in the cupboard under the stairs, a lovely piano if you have someone who plays, books in built in cases in different rooms, yard toys for games outside, a BBQ on the porch, comfy chairs and couches for late night conversations, peaceful porches with seating to enjoy listening to the birds and watching the butterflies as you relax in paradise! Seriously, you want to stay here!! We are already thinking of when we can return!
Just what we needed!
Wonderful, secluded cabin. Fully operational kitchen and BBQ. Fire pit is great. There is a sweet cat named Helen that lives on the porch. It’s minutes away from a cute town and places to pick up food. Carl was super responsive and really friendly. I would stay again if I was in the area.
This house was big and private and fit our family perfectly. We had 8 of us that stayed for my nieces wedding at Kitsap Memorial Park (20 min away) We also had extended family and friends (for a total of 25 of us) over for a potluck dinner and fire (wood supplied) the night before the wedding...everyone loved it and there was room for everyone to be in different places where it wasn't crowded. The elongated desk at the front of the house worked perfect for a beverage bar (keeping coolers with ice on the outdoor deck) it kept that separate from the food area. Fully stocked with everything you need.
Carl was easy and prompt to communicate with and met us as we arrived.
The 2 negatives were:
* The ironing board did not work which made it a challenge to iron our wedding clothes BUT the home owner has been notified of this.
* The water smelt bad from showering to doing dishes. Assuming this has something to do with minerals in the water, maybe on a well or something. Anyway, quick showers and brush your teeth with bottled water and you'll be fine!
If we are ever needing to stay in this area again, we will for sure be back!
Beautiful home and amazing location.
Loved the house - lots of space for kids and adults. Super comfy beds. Gorgeous yard and deck. We all loved it!! Thanks so much.
