Really enjoyed the seclusion of this house - It's in a growing neighborhood but you wouldn't notice! The dock and patio are awesome. This house allows for everyone to have enough space. This was our home base for our elopement, as approved by owner, and we had a fantastic time!

The host was very communicative and responsive. The house was very secluded, surrounded by nature, and although very big- it was cozy. The house allow everyone in the family to find something to do- fishing on the dock, reading or playing games on the terrace, watching TV in the dock house, or enjoying a fire by the fire pit- there is something for everyone. The open kitchen allows for everyone to gather and assist to then share meals on the massive dining room table. A true gem!

The house is pretty and the dock was a nice plus, some of my group fished and was able to canoe. There really isn’t a canoe launch so you have to be able to step off the dock into the canoe. The listing shows a black stone griddle and a grill, there is no black stone and the grill was not in working order, the gas regulator was clogged and the grates on the grill were filthy and rusty, we had planned our meals mostly on those two items so we went and bought grill brush and cleaned it to use and unclogged the regulator. There is no bed swing as shown and the outside furniture is not what you see in photos. Garage is not functional for cars to park. The house is in need of a deep cleaning,food is stuck on the cookware and also silverware and some of the dishes. Microwave was covered in splattered food. Refrigerator door shelves are broke. The cup that holds detergent in dishwasher is broken. Water is not hot and water pressure is very low making showers hard. We had a reservation for 9 and only had 1 towel and washcloth per person so we were washing constantly to have clean ones for next shower. Fireplace is not working properly, by looking at the top of the chimney with all the moss and debris it needs a good cleaning to not be dangerous. Pitch black dark in front of house so if you come in at night you can’t see to work the lockbox without a flashlight. The house has the potential of being a very nice rental, I tried to contact the owner but zero response.

I called the call center because I couldn’t get in contact with the host. The A/C upstairs went out and was told someone would contact me within the next hour, no call or text. I got an email with a number and name and reached out, he had someone at the house within 2 hours. The other thing was, I reserved for 10 people and was given just 8 towels. Not enough for all of us. Also, I had to replenish the paper goods. So other than that , the house was plenty big enough for us.

Getaway

Beautiful clean and spacious home. Whole bottom floor is wheelchair accessible. Communication with owner was great. Definately a place to come back to.

Absolute great place. Only disappointment was according to the pictures there was a blackstone griddle which we planned our meals as having one. A small negative for an incredible place and location

Home is large and roomy. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are a plus. Fun fishing from the dock. Nice secluded location.

Family Thanksgiving 2024

We had such an amazing time at this beautiful home on the river. Lots of fishing, sunsets, we even had an engagement proposal. This property is close to the villages and tons of fun places to visit.

Hurricane Milton evacuation

We left Tampa to get away from the storm. This was the best option for us. We had a very nice time even under the circumstances.

Get away from the busy city!

6 friends and I rented the house for a boys weekend on Labor Day weekend. The check process was seamless. The house is sick! PLENTY of space and 7 actual mattresses, but trust me
. You wanna sleep on the couch it’s soft as clouds. We spent a good amount of time in the outhouse grilling, watching college football and playing games. There is a boat ramp 4 minutes north of the property if you’re looking to drop a boat in. Ocala shooting ranger is 25 minutes away and free. The self serve skeet station was a blast. Silver springs was only 30 minutes away. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Would definitely revisit! The only thing that would make this better is a hot tub and dedicated fire pit.

Not clean

Overall the house is nice It has a lot of potential for a great experience but not clean. Kitchen cabinets are disgusting. Refrigerator was also not well cleaned. We one day early, I’m a very picky person when it comes to vacation homes,, I will definitely not come back to this one.

Peaceful, secluded and spacious

My entire family had a wonderful stay. The oven was our only issue- it worked but was challenging; the host said the part has been ordered to repair that problem. The host was very responsive to all my questions/needs. Entire property extremely clean. Would absolutely stay here again!

Nice place

We had two families on this trip. The house was nice, the gas stove was difficult to operate. The WIFI was VERY slow, But I heard they are getting a new service in the future. The dock was nice with a nice outdoor area, but we found it not good for launching a canoe or kayak.

Peaceful!

Our family spent 4 days at this property and we all enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful and warming. The dock and outside screened in cooking and lounging area was fabulous! The hosts thought of everything to make our stay picture perfect! We will be returning without a doubt.

Destination Wedding

We could not have been happier with our stay. The cabin is so charming and comfortable with all the conveniences. This was a family get together to prepare for our daughters wedding. We had all the day of wedding things scheduled at the home. Hair and makeup, photography and videography. Being right on the water was just what we needed to relax and enjoy the nature that surrounds this home. We are definitely hoping to stay here again.

Gorgeous and Comfortable

My daughter’s wedding was being held at Doe Lake, this amazing cabin is where they stayed and the bridal party got dressed! The cabin’s location was perfect, as well as it’s amenities! Communication with the property manager was very smooth! Now we want to stay there again just to relax!

True hidden gem

Who would have thought we were still in Florida?! We had an amazing stay in this beautiful gem of a house. Perfectly secluded and allowed us to end the year on a high note without the busyness of city life. The property owner was great! He responded fast to any questions and provided a great bit on information for things to do nearby. Hanging on the doc and relaxing was an added bonus! Definitely hope to come back again!
