Great View........Poor cleanliness
When you arrive at the property the first thing you see if the view. Its excellent, with the river and the city skyline right in front of you when in the living area and master bedroom. This is what we loved most about the apartment, it was a good setup.
However after the view the first thing we noticed was the floor was sticky. In some places it seemed like someone had dropped honey or something and there were patches of it three different parts of the living area, however the whole floor was sticky. We contacted management and they were apologetic and sent a cleaner the next day. She sprayed a bit of chemical around and did a bit of a mop. Once it dried (and she had gone) the floor was still sticky. I would walk around the apartment bare foot and at the end of the day my feet were black! It really needs a bucket of water and floor cleaner and a proper mop not one of those sponges on a stick. The balcony was also extremely dusty as if it had not been cleaned in months. Once you once these things you start noticing smaller things in the bathroom etc which start to really get annoying. Its a hassle to have to organize a cleaner drop keys etc, it should just be clean.
The dishwasher wasn't working, half way through our holiday we asked to drop our keys so a repair man could fix the dishwasher, they had apparently been waiting for a part. We did this, its a hassle, but we dropped the keys. When we returned we tried to use the dishwasher, no luck still not working. We were asked to clean dishes by hand, the apartment isnt really set up well for hand washing dishes, no drying rack etc. One of the blinds in the bedroom didnt work properly. These were all small things but they all started to add up and took away from the experience of the view and the location.
We will probably not stay at this apartment again mostly due to how poorly it was cleaned and the dust leading to allergies for my wife.
Another thing to not is to check all the different sites in the homeaway group. I found that I paid significantly more per night, so it's worth looking at all the sites within the home away group of sites as they are not all the same price. So check them all before making your booking. They are listed at the bottom of the website in the VRBO family.
