About Randy & Carol McMillan

Co-owners: Bill & Jas and Randy & Carol would like to introduce ourselves to you.

Bill and I(Jas) went to visit our dear friends Carol and Randy in June and absolutely fell in love with Molokai and Kepuhi Beach and started calling it our little paradise. Fortunately, we now own a small piece of this bliss with them. It is a great get away from our hectic jobs in San Francisco. It is a very relaxing and calming place, which provides great walks on the soft sandy beaches. We both love food and wine. To our pleasant surprise, we found amazing fresh tropical fruits and vegetables and we were awestruck with the sweetest and juiciest mangos and a delicious array of meat from Molokai Livestock Co-op. All this was complimented by a wide choice of wines from the local wine shop.

Randy & Carol McMillan purchased this condo in 2015

Why Randy & Carol McMillan chose Maunaloa

We could not have asked for a better condo. We experienced an immediate sense of peace and quiet and a real slowing of time. The calming effect of sitting on our lanai in the morning with our cups of fresh Molokai coffee, watching the waves brought us immediate tranquility. We really felt welcome in the unit with its vaulted ceilings, open layout, with views flowing straight to the ocean. We had not felt this relaxed in a very long time and relished in the serenity. To our delight, the beach is only a mere 5 minute walk across the beautiful green lawn, a seamless jaunt with the swaying palm trees, to the beckoning blue ocean. Once on the beach we felt like we arrived to a place which we had been seeking, a great retreat! All of the property's amenities, including our very own lanai, a pool, BBQ, walkways and lush landscape were a constant reminder of why we were there. Our daily adventures were steps away and we were able to fill our days with shelling, snorkeling, walks on the beach and witness amazing sunsets! With all that said, laying on a floatie in the pool, looking up, watching the dancing palms with glimpses of wispy clouds will always take us back.

What makes this condo unique

If peace and quiet is what your looking for you've come to the right place. There is so much natural beauty around you all over Molokai and at the Kepuhi Beach Resort you'll find some of the most remote beaches in Hawaii, some wonderful vistas to take in the beautiful waters and a place to find perfect refuge for relaxation. Each day will present its own opportunity to partake in activities around the island or settle in on one of the many secluded beaches. We hope to see you out here soon...You won't forget it!

Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The host went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. We were traveling with an infant and we found the place comfortable, adequately stocked and with great views from the lanai. Would highly recommend.

Nice studio, definitely recommend

  • 5 of 5

We loved the studio, nicely arranged and comfortable. Spent most of our time on the Lanai. The only problem was underneath the microwave light was not working so the stove was very dark and hard to see as you cooked.

Beautiful Views, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay on the property, enjoying our walks and the beautiful views. The owners were very helpful, with great ideas for enjoying our stay on the island, and they truly show that the Aloha spirit is present in them and in Moloka'i.

Spectacular Beach Views

  • 5 of 5

We are seasoned Hawaii travellers but have never stayed in the same resort twice up until now. Most places we have stayed while nice lacked something really special about it. Carol and Randy’s studio, however, have nearly everything we are looking for. No where else can we find affordable, beachside accommodations with a spectacular view right from the balcony. The studio comes equipped with everything we need and Carol is a wonderful hostess and will go to great lengths to see that you are happy. The jeep that is offered to rent by the owners is very convenient. And we really love the island of Molokai. The no stress, no traffic, natural beauty and laid back life style, is the holiday for us. If only we could stay longer…

Loved Molokai and this condo - a "little slice of Paradise"

  • 5 of 5

Reflecting back on 2017, our 4 days on Molokai were the highlight of our visit to Hawaii in March - itself a highlight of the year. Well before our arrival, Carol went out of her way to help - offering us this lovely condo, when the one we originally had our eye on was unavailable, and giving us the use of her her personal jeep when we couldn't find a car rental. Her instructions and suggestions for making the most of our stay were invaluable. We are so grateful to her.

We loved the low-key quietness of the place in such a spectacular setting ... there are a number of secluded beaches between volcanic headlands within walking distance, not to mention amazing 3-mile-long Papohaku Beach which we all but had to ourselves. The sunsets at this western end of the island are gorgeous. We would love to come back when we have time to spend a couple of weeks, or perhaps a couple of months.

Quiet and freindly

  • 5 of 5

The resort and Condo was as promised, quiet and beautiful. The grounds and pool are immaculately kept and the few staff on duty were friendly and helpful. Molokai may not be everyone's idea of Hawaii but it gave us warmth, sun and a base to visit the Big Island. We ate at both the Hotel Molokai and Paddlers, on all occasions we were delighted in the service and quality of the food.

The locals were more than happy to spend time and chat about past and recent history. The only disappointment was not getting to visit the St Damien peninsular settlement. The Mule ride down had a few bad reviews due to the death of the previous owner and there was no response from the tour operator regarding a air flight down to the settlement. Otherwise a great place to visit and well worth the long flight from Australia.

Aloha,

Our condo is located on the most western end of the Island of Molokai. It is known for it's beautiful beaches and amazing sunsets. Our sand is a golden white and so soft and clean you won't mind enjoying your favorite beverage without a blanket. But you won't need to as we provide everything you need for the beach and pool. The pool is located just above the walkway that runs along the beach. There is a small store just off the pool where you can purchase anything from cool drinks, food for your dinner, clothing and swim wear, to gifts and jewelry. Did I mention ice-cream? The views from the pool are amazing and the water is always nice and refreshing.

One beach rolls into the next, separated by a small mound of rocks or a short path through grass and then you are at another beautiful breathtaking beach. There are five beautiful beaches right here on the west end that you don't have to drive to. One is where several scenes of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' was filmed. I love to shell there. The water is so clear blue, and the snorkeling is amazing.
