Beautiful, Relaxing Spot
Stayed for five blissful days with old friends, got married in the back yard. This home was everything we'd hoped for - comfy charm, huge yard with long riverfront, stocked with everything you need for a chill weekend with friends and family. Super easy walk around the corner to Hot Springs, which may be the best little mountain town ever. Had amazing breakfast at the diner, all the local beer you can drink and delicious catfish at the tavern. Also easy walk to the spa for hot springs soaks every night and a whole day of spa treatments, which were cheap and fantastic. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. This is a lovely house in an idyllic setting, it had us all looking at the real estate notices before we left.
Fabulous and Private! Just Perfect
We were there for my sons wedding, the entire inn was booked for the Bridal party and family. We needed a place close by, this was perfect for us! When we arrived I was very pleasantly surprised by the overall layout and how wonderfully inviting it all was. The open interior kitchen was perfect as we are a family that always gathers in the kitchen. It was bright and spacious, just perfect for us. The bedrooms were clean and super comfy, plenty of space to spread out. The bathrooms were bright and open as well. Just loved this home!
As Good As Advertised.
This was our second time staying at the Red Bridge Lodge. On both occasions we have hosted family gatherings there. It is hard to imagine a better site for what we had in mind.
The Lodge is big enough to house 10-12 people... if you're flexible about sleeping arrangements... yet still not feel overcrowded. It is well-furnished and comfortable. The house and grounds are user-friendly and well-tended. The location makes anywhere in Hot Springs an easy walk from the house, and the surrounding areas (Asheville, the Parkway, etc) are a reasonable drive. And really... in today's world how many places can you take little kids out to the yard and stand 25 feet from a real railroad track as a multi-engined train stretching for 90 cars blows the whistle and rolls past?
The owners are easy to communicate with, and they show a genuine interest in their guests and their time at the Lodge.
We think it is a great place, and I can't imagine not going back.
Excellent location for a base camp for some great trout fishing in Western North Carolina
This is our third year staying at the Red Bridge Lodge and our group (Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers) absolutely love it. It offers trout fishing in Spring Creek right behind the house, which is ideal for those that cannot get around well. The newly installed steps make accessing the stream very easy. From this location we venture out to several different streams within a 2 hour drive. The kitchen area is my favorite part of the house, large enough to allow us all to gather for meals and review the days catch and make up a few lies of course. The firepit by the creek, has to be my second favorite part. Each night we would make a raging fire and check out the night skies looking at all of the constellations with the warmth of the fire and crackling of fresh cut wood right in front of us. I would highly recommend this property for a future stay by your family. I know we will be back again next year for our fourth stay.
Hot Springs is a historic small mountain town located where the French Broad River crosses the Appalachian Trail in western NC. The Appalachian Trail actually goes right down the sidewalk through town. It is mostly surrounded by National Forest and features the only natural hot springs in the state of NC. Outdoor activities are abundant including rafting, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, fly fishing, smallmouth fishing, muskie fishing, horseback riding and most can be done without getting into a car. The town is also located about 45 minutes from the vibrant downtown of Asheville, featuring many outstanding restaurants, art galleries, live music venues and more.
