Oscars Pet Friendly Beach House, 14 Tomaree Road

The Location - ¡El lugar de vacaciones perfecto! La casa de playa de Oscar se encuentra a menos de 200 metros de la hermosa playa de Shoal Bay y adyacente al Country Club.  Shoal Bay es una de las ciudades costeras más pintorescas que Australia tiene para ofrecer. Justo en el escalón de tu puerta te reciben con una selección de restaurantes, bares y tiendas a lo largo de la costa. La majestuosa playa de Shoal Bay se curva 2. 5 km desde Nelson Head hasta Tomaree Head. Las tranquilas y claras aguas de la bahía son perfectas para nadar, practicar kayak y paddle surf de pie (disponible para alquiler todos los días durante las temporadas altas de vacaciones escolares, fines de semana largos y Semana Santa) y las mesas de picnic y las instalaciones de barbacoa están en la reserva junto a la playa.  Además, a menos de un kilómetro de distancia, se encuentra el magnífico Parque Nacional Tomaree con espectaculares vistas desde la cima de la montaña Tomaree. Solo 5 minutos en auto en la dirección opuesta lo lleva al municipio de Nelson Bay. 

La casa: esta cabaña que admite mascotas está llena de carácter y ofrece una combinación única de encanto del viejo mundo con sofisticación moderna. El área principal de la sala de estar cuenta con tableros de piso, aire acondicionado de sistema dividido, un gran televisor con pantalla de plasma, reproductor de DVD y ventiladores de techo. La segunda sala de estar está fuera del salón principal a través de las puertas interiores de estilo francés. Hay un área abierta de comedor / cocina, cocina totalmente equipada con lavavajillas, estufa, horno, refrigerador de acero inoxidable y mucho espacio en el banco para preparar comidas. Salga por las puertas dobles a la zona del patio trasero pavimentado, que tiene una barbacoa de gas de 4 quemadores, una instalación al aire libre y una ducha al aire libre. También hay una mesa y sillas al aire libre ubicadas en el porche delantero para tomar el sol de la tarde y absorber las maravillosas vistas del agua. Tus mascotas son bienvenidas.

Dos de las habitaciones ofrecen una cama queen size con un armario y un ventilador de techo. La tercera habitación cuenta con dos literas, armario empotrado, ventilador de techo y un calentador eléctrico. El baño principal tiene una ducha sobre la bañera, tocador y tocador modernos y un segundo baño con ducha y retrete. Otras características incluyen estacionamiento en la calle para tres vehículos o su bote de remolque que se puede lanzar desde la rampa para botes de dos carriles en todas las mareas en el extremo este de Shoal Bay Beach.

Great location.

The house is just a short stroll from the Country Club, shops and restaurants, which are across the road from the beautiful bay. Two showers and toilets are very convenient and there is plenty of hot water. The tidy little back yard is fenced and perfect for dogs. We were only there for two nights but everyone enjoyed their stay.

Location, Location... Shoal Bay is the Airlie Beach of NSW!

As far as bang for bucks go, this property has a lot to offer. It's large, pet friendly and is situated 3 minutes walk to the small township and the huge beach in the bay. There is so much to do in the area and it's all in very close proximity, even though you would think that you're isolated at the end of the line, so to speak. The property itself is an older house that has well and truly been used, but is homely with a huge kitchen and lovely bathroom. Our stay was over a very hot weekend and unfortunately for us the hot water service decided to give out leaving us having cold showers, but on the plus side, the air conditioner worked well and with the added ceiling fans, made our stay comfortable.

Unsatisfied.

As our time in shoal bay was enjoyable and nothing but amazing, our accommodation was defiantly not a highlight of the trip. We first arrive to our accommodation and was greateed by a trail of ants across the kitchen bench. You could tell where they only vacuumed as there was dust and fluff collected in places that wasn’t cleaned properly and was easy access for cleaning aplliences to reach. The beds were horrible. Basically a foam mattress on all beds! The sofa bed when you pulled it out you were quick to put it back with the amount of collected rubish/dust/fluff behind it. The house smelt as if it had been damp and no windows opened to air it out, paint was peeling and blinds had mould on them and majority of them not funcational. They had new blinds sitting in the kitchen (looks like they had been there for a while with the amount of dust on them). We were left with the linen to make our own beds, and washing machine isn’t very functional, turns on by that’s about as far as we could get it. We loved the house but there is a lot of improvements that could be made to make it more enjoyable for future tendents

Great location…. But very disappointing house

Booking a lower cost, pet friendly beach house we expected the property to be a bit old and ok if it is a bit shabby in places. But the house was really not clean. Quilt covers were provided for some beds, not all. Quilt covers that were provided were dirty. Shelves and horizontal surfaces were dusty. Under beds and behind doors didn’t look like they had ever been cleaned… really dusty. When we checked in there were dog smooshes on glass doors and used tea towels left on benches. Then it rained and the roof leaked. We were assured by the property manager that the roof was scheduled to be fixed next month…. The roof actually had a tarp strapped to it! Location is awesome, and the house has so much potential with some care and attention it could be great….. but unfortunately for our stay it was a real disappointment.

The home was terrible, unclean, and not as described

I called the property manager ‘Winning Holidays’ the day before our arrival to specifically request that the property was cleaned... (as there were previous bad reviews stating that the home was not clean) and yet when we arrived the place had NOT at all been cleaned. Bins full, Toilet paper on floor, Dog hair, Dirty floors and footprints, Dirty benches, Hair all throughout bathroom and showers, Dirty dishes in sink, Dishwasher full. It seemed like previous guests had left and we arrived with no cleaning completed in between. Disgusting and a disappointing start to our holiday. The property managers were not very apologetic after I alerted them of this and put the blame back to the owners?? Would NOT recommend.

We are in process of lodging dispute with Fair Trading as we picked a pet friendly place fully fenced.which it wasn’t and the managing agency have been less than helpful- the house was dirty, I washed doona covers, found everything from women’s sanitary products to Pringles packages under beds, had to purchase extra blankets and put rowels down before even placing bags down. Agency could not have cared less and have not even bothered replying to any of my emails. This is very sad and as this is the first time in all my many many years of travel I have felt the need to express the issues of this property I feel so very let down. Would like a response to this email Thank you Sandra Goddard

Great location, not pet friendly

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Generally when renting pet friendly accommodation we lower our expectations on the property. So in this case I was happy to look beyond all the mould on the ceilings however I was dumbfounded to find that the property was not fenced (even though we were told it was). As a result we couldn’t do some of the full day activities booked as we couldn’t leave the dog inside for a full day. I think it is reasonable to expect any property with pet friendly in the name would have appropriate fencing and when I say appropriate I mean any boundary fencing at all!

Great location

The property was in a great location and very close to the beach, restaurants and shops.The reason I have given the property a 3 star rating was due to the fact the lawn had not been mowed. The gardener lives next door and asked if it would be possible to do the lawns during our stay which was fine .I just felt that the lawns should have been done before our arrival.Not only did he do the lawns but spent the afternoon trimming the front bushes.It was very noicey when you are trying to relax.In saying this though great home and location.

Great Weekend Away

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect spot to stay! very central, close to beach and SBCC. The house was great and perfect for a group of friends spending a weekend away. However, a little unclean in areas particularly the floor and a few repairs are needed to general structure of the house. We also needed to ring up to get the linen package sent that was suppose to already be there on arrival but the staff were very friendly and apologetic. Other than that stuff we had a wonderful time! Perfect kitchen being fully equipped.
