This beautiful converted church is seeped in history.
Circa 1859 this Gothic revival church was originally the St James Presbyterian Church of Miners Rest before being lovingly converted into a beautiful accomodation

Located in Miners Rest just 15 mins from Ballarat CBD, its the perfect place to access everything that Ballarat and surrounding areas has to offer.

The entire property is seeped in history with exposed brick walls, gothic revival style doors and gorgeous timber beams.

Downstairs boasts a modern kitchen with everything you need to cook including a pod coffee machine with coffee included, microwave, and a dining area to seat 6 people.
The comfortable lounge is complete with a smart TV and DVD player and the reading corner has a comfy couch to curl up on and enjoy a book or two. There are games to keep the whole family entertained.

Maybe you are here for work reasons? There is a desk / work station which is the perfect place to sit and catch up on all of your business needs. Wifi is also included.

Upstairs is complete with a stylish bathroom with a large shower and all towels provided. The main bedroom has a large King size bed with high quality linens and gorgeous exposed beams from the former church.
The second bedroom has two King single beds and the option for a third pull out single bed available on request. Complete with the views of the church windows, exposed beams and brick wall you will appreciate the history of this beautiful building.

Please note you must be able to climb stairs to stay here as the bedrooms and bathroom is located on the second floor. Although small children are welcome it is not recommended as there is no safety gate on the staircase.
Outside you can sit back and enjoy the style of the old church in the backyard at the outdoor table. There is a BBQ for the warmer months.

Off street parking is available.
All of this is located in a quiet, family friendly area of Miners Rest within walking distance to the local pub, community playground and BMX track, IGA supermarket and general store.
A bus stop to catch public transport into Ballarat is located in the same street.
This is the perfect luxurious place to stay.

Family trip to Ballarat

It is a lovely and unique property. One thing to keep in mind is the bedrooms in the mezzanine area are open to the lounge below if you have young kids with an earlier bed time. It is in a quiet area and not too far from Ballarat. I would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous old church. The photos and owner’s description are spot on. Lovely decor with great quality linen and comfy beds. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Light and airy and still cosy and warm at night. Quiet neighbourhood and just a short drive into town. Great starting point for exploring other towns in the region

Stunning!

Beautifully converted Church home. Amazing lighting throughout the place. Modern facilities. They off a Bring a Book, Leave a Book so, bring along a book you'd love to pass onto a new reader. I'd recommend coming here for a romantic getaway or even a family trip (bring a sleeping mask if staying in the single beds though as it's super bright)... But omg how amazing is the lighting! We would definitely come back again. Thanks Kylie.

Beautifully renovated and equipped with all the comforts you could want. A lovely quiet neighbourhood with a playground only a few meters away. We would definitely stay again.

Unique and cosy

A well-designed and unique conversion. We were there in very cold weather but the building heated nicely, the big windows let the sun in beautifully. Nice well-appointed kitchen, house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Also if you are arriving in the dark as we were it’s very easy to see from the road as it’s literally a large white church! This is a bit out of Ballarat so best if you have a car. With thanks to the host who was very accommodating to me having to change dates at short notice.

Heavenly luxurious stay

We have always wanted to stay in a church conversion & we were not disappointed. The interior was beautifully done & especially the exposed beams were a excellent feature. Bedding was lovely and comfy, the kitchen was modern & well appointed. This property had lots of special little touches from a welcome breakfast box to lots a good books to read. Kylie was easy to deal with & we all loved staying here & would definitely stay again. Thank you so much.

Peaceful, beautiful church with a modern twist

We were so happy with our stay at this church in Miner's Rest. Very close to Ballarat but also has excellent access to the Grampians and Pyrenees regions if you want to go to Clunes or Ararat for example. Beautifully appointed with comfortable bedding and a massive kitchen. I would suggest perfect for a couple or small family.

Wonderfully Unique Accomodation

Staying in this converted church was a fantastic experience for our two night getaway. The property is stylishly decorated, exceptionally clean and has everything you need in the kitchen. Wifi and Netflix worked well and the couch is very comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

A cute and unique stay.

This property was a lovely place to stay. It was very clean, spacious and well equipped for a family stay. The house was very clean, and decorated and for our beautifully. The location was a little drive to the main city of Ballarat, but this was perfect and the property was in a quiet location. We just loved our stay.

Fantastic weekend away

Such a fantastic conversion of the church! We all absolutely loved the design and setup of the home, it is just lovely. Kitchen is very well appointed, has essential supplies and basic breakfast provisions provided. Our son particularly liked the bathroom but in general the upstairs area was lovely. The only issue we had was minor and related to the street lights being out when we arrived which made it difficult to find the driveway at night. Everything else was just wonderful though and we look forward to coming back next time we're looking for accommodation in Ballarat.

Perfect base for a Ballarat getaway

Absolutely stunning conversion! The property was beautifully presented and made us feel right at home for our three night getaway to explore Ballarat. Quality linens and extra little touches like hand cream, body wash, shampoo and conditioner were appreciated, and the kitchen was stocked with basic pantry items. The coffee pods and milk in the fridge were a welcome inclusion. All of the beds were very comfortable and blankets warm enough for the chilly nights. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and will return for another stay soon. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one!
