About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

The house is big and spacious but a bit run down.

 • 2 of 5

The house is big enough for 12 of us. The big room with the three bunk beds are perfect for the kids but they need to remove the broken air hockey table. The carpet upstairs is very dirty. Most of the upstair windows cannot be opened so it was so stuffy and hot. The Wi-Fi didn't work 90% of the time. The couch in the living room is broken and smell. The refrigerator was barely cold and leaking water at the bottom. On our last morning, my son saw a mouse on the kitchen counter and we found some rodent dropping. We will never coming back.

Overpriced for the quality of the house

 • 2 of 5

We had high hopes about this property, since all of the reviews were positive but unfortunately for the price we paid we should have received a lot more. Below are my complaints:

* Customer service with VACASA was poor

* The house cleaners were JUST starting to clean when we checked in at 4pm.

* There is a woodpecker living in the walls that keeps you up.

* Ants in kitchen

* Mouse in kitchen

* Carpets are super dirty

* No fooseball table, as descripted

* No instructions on how to use appliances or make yourself comfortable in the house

* Kitchen is ill equipped no spices, extremely basic cookware.

* No Screens in the windows so we couldn't open windows to get fresh air

* Only provided us with 1 small thing of soap in each bathroom

Nothing was offered to us for any of our inconveniences.

Grandma

 • 4 of 5

I took my family to the Shaffer house to celebrate my 65th birthday. Every family had their own bedroom and full bathroom with an extra full bath on the first level. Five in all. The bunk room was awesome for the kids. There was plenty to do to keep everyone busy and plenty of room. The house is located walking distance to restaurants, beach area and quick pick ups at the 711. The highway is busy and can be noisy but easy to cross to the beach. With a few minor repairs, new couch and replace broken screens, I would definitely go back to the Shaffer house.

Amazing spot

 • 5 of 5

My family of 11 loved staying here last weekend. We all slept very comfortably although I ended up sleeping on couch as I didn't prefer to bunk with the kids on the twin sizes (couch was very comfortable). We enjoyed being across from the lake and didn't mind the noise of North Lake Blvd. Two minute walk to the beach and if you want to get a famous Woody from Garwoods. Lots of nearby hiking and amenities, attractions.

The back area is a nice view of green forest but there is no privacy and no fencing to keep the dog or animals safe. Everything was very clean and well kept and the kitchen had everything we needed except the food processor was not working. The best part is that every room gets their own full bathroom which was great -- just be weary not to all shower around same time and get left in the cold.

I appreciated all the games and DVDS that were included. Wifi worked great. Plenty of parking. Overall it was an amazing stay and we were more than cozy. We especially liked the open floor plan of the bottom floor and big kitchen. I have a strong feeling we will be back to stay here again.

Thanks for all your help Vacasa, very professional!
