Very good
Reviews are presented in chronological order, subject to a moderation process, and verified unless otherwise labelled.
I like to keep the review short. Don’t waste your money or time on this property. Not worth it at all. They only charge a super high rate and horrible state of cleanliness/hygiene.
The house had dust everywhere. In every corner under every bed, I'm sure there was dust mites in the bed as we were itchy though the nights. The washing machine dispenser had mould in and around the detergent dispenser. Grease all around the stove. One toilet roll. Vaccume cleaner had so much hair around the suction part that it wouldn't even suck anything it was useless. the mop was discusting it would just make more of a mess as it was covered in hair and dirt. The decking outside has nails sticking out which was unsafe for the kids. It was just disgusting. We couldn't even use the tallboy as some draws wouldn't open. The bathtub hot water tap fell off on to the kids while bathing. It was just dirty, everything was falling apart and very unhygienic.

We loved our stay. The house is in a fantastic location close to Apollo Bay and right on the beach.
The house had everything we could have needed and we loved having a fire.

great view
although this property had a fabulous balcony and view it had no cover so you couldn't use it when it drizzled or rained and the seating was in much need of cleaning. The bbq was all blocked up, unusable. The bathroom and kitchen need better cleaning. Also the oven door does not close. It was good that it had a dishwasher, however one tablet was insufficient for a longer stay. Also was annoyed at the no. of msg to take the bins out.

The views were amazing. The house was was wonderful but the loft stairs could have a rail on both sides, glad I wasn’t sleeping up there. Overall we loved staying there and will be back next year.
The place was just perfect for a relaxing getaway. The place had all the comforts of home and were in a fantastic location. The best part though was the stunning ocean view! We hope to return!
We loved this place in Marengo. Great views. The house was warm and cosy for Winter - wood fire, split system and electric blankets. The open plan kitchen area had beautiful morning sun with views out to the seal colony. The deck was fantastic although due to the weather we did not spend much time there. Sunrises were stunning from the couch. The bird life was amazing coming and perching on the verandah. Great to have dogs inside and they loved lying in front of fire after beach walk. The balcony is gated if you need to leave them for a little time. Great selection of TV viewing for night time. It was the perfect place for us. It would be even more stunning in warmer months. Don’t hesitate to book this Winter getaway.
Ticked all our winter beach holiday boxes - ocean view, indoor fireplace, walking distance to the beach and dog friendly. Enjoyed watching the seals and bird life. The house had everything we needed, and the furniture has been updated from the pics so even better than expected. We would definitely stay here again.
the house was clean and well presented. Teh view was wonderful

Great Views
Lovely little place with great views of Marengo. Could really do with a proper outdoor table and chairs setting (even a large glass table which is more weather resistant and a set of plastic stack-able chairs). The third bedroom (upstairs loft) is only really suitable for teenagers - stairs are way to steep for young ones or middle age to elderly people).
The kitchen cupboards need a good rearrangement/clean out so as to provide an empty shelf somewhere to put your food and things. Not a big deal but if you were with a family, leaving your food etc in a box on the bench doesn't leave any room for food prep etc.
Comfy beds.
Great location.
Will be back.

Amazing!!!!
My husband and I had an absolutely fantastic time here with our four children. That View.....Just wow!!! The house was everything we imagined, Very clean, lovely and bright and it was big enough for all of us. Nothing beats sitting out on a beautiful deck, watching the waves and the local wildlife. We wish we could of stayed longer but we will be back early next year!
Thank you so much.

Wonderful Views
Lovely location to enjoy the views, birdlife and walks down to the beaches. A comfortable house with good kitchen facilities, etc. Wifi was great.Very warm/cool when needed with the ample aircon/heatpump. The loft was enjoyed by the children 8 and 10 years, although the ship style stairways would be rendered much safer and easier to use with a handrail on both sides rather than just one - something I suggested to the GOR holiday people when I handed back the key. It rained quite a lot over the week we were there and this exposed a potentially dangerous problem with substantial leaking in the window of the downstairs bedroom facing the street. Although this is essentially a problem for the owner, as there is a double plug socket not too far from the side of the window there is potential for water to get into it causing problems. I told the GOR people about this and was told it had been noted. No mention of when it would be fixed though. There seems to have been a general lack of maintenance on the house. All in all, however, we enjoyed our stay a lot.

We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. Very clean, the big windows out on to the deck we great and the bed was comfy. The property felt very homely, loved it. From the balcony you could see the ocean and around to Apollo Bay also the seals out on the reef, also feed the king parrots etc. it was just great. Only a short walk to the beach. Will be back again to stay for sure.

Fantastic House
We had a lovely week in this great house. Everything one could wish for. Well equipped, very clean and perfect position. Big windows, big deck overlooking sea, coast, hills. Many parrots and even had a koala walk through the garden. Seals to watch on nearby reef. Fire and heating kept us cosy. Plenty books, games, etc.

Fabulous location
Great place for a relaxing holiday with my family. Location was really good. A five minute walk to the beach and the views from inside the house (and the deck!) were amazing. The only faults were that the cleanliness wasn't great. There were dirty tissues and broken biscuits under the couches. (We dropped coins on the floor and needed to check under the couches to see if they had rolled underneath.) Also, some of the pillow protectors and mattress protectors had stains. Other than that, we have no complaints and hope to return there again some time.

Absolutely breathtaking views!
Beautiful house, has a very warm and cosy vibe. We went as a group of 4 and found it was quite accommodating. The views are exquisite and the deck is very spacious. The house is nice and clean, although the stovetop wasn't, we had to give it a good scrub. Bed's are super comfortable, blankets and pillows are provided. Overall a lovely place to stay at my only recommendations are for an updated TV as the ports weren't working so we couldn't connect anything to watch any of the movies we bought. Would definitely come back here again!

Great Location
Very open with great views, some of the furniture is a little bit tired and could do with an upgrade and some form of heating in the bathroom for the winter months would be great. Loved the fireplace and large deck to sit and enjoy the view.

Great Views, Good House
We enjoyed this house as a winter escape (end of June/beginning July). The large North facing windows provided plenty of sun to warm the living room during the day, and a fire by night. The views are impressive, with lovely green hills and the sea (which includes a colony of seals that live/rest on rocks) can be enjoyed from the open living area. If you have binoculars, bring them along for better viewing of the seals. Our kids (aged 10,12, and 14) loved the loft and set it up for themselves as 'their' space. We hope to come back to this house sometime.

Great view, disappointing house
We booked Coleridge based on it's location in Marengo and views of Apollo Bay which are fantastic. However the house is tired and unfortunately not as well set up as the pictures suggest. The upstairs loft bedroom is accessed by very steep, precarious stairs which are unsuitable for young children or the elderly and the bedroom itself has a very sharply sloping roof and very little furniture. There was also no sizeable outdoor furniture provided to have a meal on the deck or relax with a book. Re the rest of the house we were also annoyed that the DVD player was broken, the TV reception was poor due to a faulty plug and a lamp globe in one of the bedrooms was broken. It would've also been nice to have more than one roll of toilet paper provided considering there were 6 of us staying for a week!
So the views were exceptional but our stay was spoiled by the inadequate accommodation.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 Mar 2020
Hi Ingrid, Thank You for taking the time to review the Coleridge property your review has allowed the owners to make some changes to enhance the property for future guests. The property does have a steep stair case to the loft as described on our website and all other holiday listings for this property (very steep narrow stair case). The sharp sloping roof is evident in the photographs online.
We acknowledge the lack of sizable outdoor furniture and will be arranging a new outdoor setting in the near future, the DVD player has been replaced and the television reception rectified. I understand that 1 roll of toilet paper is completely inadequate for a group of 6 people for 1 week, unfortunately this property is not serviced which is why you are advised within our terms and conditions that you need to bring your own personal requisites.
Once again thank you for providing your feedback it is very much appreciated.
