This is the perfect escape, nestled amongst a tranquil bush setting with filtered views of the ocean and located just a short 250 metres from the Skenes Creek Beach, this property offers exceptional value for the budget conscience holiday seeker.

The property offers open plan kitchen, dining (table with 2 chairs + 3 kitchen bar stools) and living areas (Coonara wood heating & reverse cycle air con) with sliding doors that open up onto a wonderful deck area complete with BBQ, table and chairs, outdoor gas heater & outside shower. There are two bedrooms (1 x queen & 1 x double) one of which offers a safe for valuables, separate laundry and bathroom. There is also provision for two cars onsite.

While you are enjoying your holiday why not visit Beacon Point Restaurant, located only minutes from your holiday home, where you can enjoy fine food and exceptional wines with the ultimate in elevated views looking across the ocean and the Great Ocean Road.

You are also based just a short drive (4 kms) from Apollo Bay where you can indulge in one of the many cafes/restaurants that dot the foreshore, take advantage of the many retail outlets that offer unique clothing and giftware, stock up on all the essentials at one of the supermarkets or just simply enjoy the beautiful environment that is Skenes Creek.

Fantastic Beachside Getaway

Barca View Cottage is a comfortably appointed holiday home, with a nice beachside vibe. The cottage is located uphill in a lovely lightly wooded area of Skenes Creek, allowing for fantastic views through the trees to the beach in the distance. There are no shops in Skenes Creek adding to the sense of seclusion. Apollo Bay is only a short distance away, allowing for shopping, restaurants and wide selection of take away food. The cottage is well laid out and appointed to allow for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is basic, but provides for all holiday needs. The large outdoor terrace makes great use of the views. We would highly recommend Barca View Cottage for a comfortable, beach-side holiday stay.

Fabulous stay

We had a wonderful stay, the house had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds. Short walk to the beach which has fabulous rock pools. Hope to go back one day. Only slight gripe was needing to go back to Apollo Bay to drop the key off, a little locked drop box at the house would have been better. All in all though, an excellent stay. Thank you!

Beautiful Skenes Creek

Very nice little beach house in a wonderful part of Skenes Creek, among tall eucalyptus trees bursting with bird life. Cute and comfortable, though we didn’t quite get the hang of the wood fired heater. Beach is an easy walk down the hill, but be aware it is no longer viewable from the deck, as a big new house is being constructed right next door. Online listing didn’t say anything about that so we were initially disappointed.

As soon as we walked in, we noticed ants crawling all over the kitchen and sink. There was so much of dust under the furniture. Hard to believe this place was professionally cleaned between visits.

Beach stay

We stayed at Barca View cottage for a 2 night stay during a family holiday exploring the great ocean road. The cottage is small but very comfortable for a small family, and tastefully decorated with lots of special little touches. The outside deck was a fantastic place to rest and relax, with an outdoor setting which was perfect for dining on warm evenings. The beach nearby has amazing rock pools, and we fell asleep to the sound of the waves at night. Skenes creek is an ideal location, close enough to drive in to Apollo Bay for dinner at night, but far away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Would highly recommend this property to others!

Relaxing Cottage for two.

Our stay at the Barca View was delightful and cosy. There was everything that we needed in the cottage. The views from the main room as well as the living room were quite beautiful. The Barca View accomodated us quite well, both during the hotter temperatures well as the colder. Our only critique would be that perhaps the place could be sprayed for insects and also for gaps in the building to be patched up. There were quite a substantial ammount of insects and huntsman spiders found throughout the cottage.
