Cute cabin great location

Needed to stay close by to family and this had everything we needed. Lots of charm, great heat and hot water, awesome washer and dryer. Beds comfy, easy stay, just what we needed.

Perfect family get away!

Our grands were in a play in Nellysford so this home was perfect for us. It was as neat as a pin and the Lazyboys were a family favorite!

Quiet in the woods!

Lovely stay for 4 adults and a 10 year old. House feels almost like it is by itself in the woods with a huge deck all around surrounded by trees. House was clean and as advertised. Kitchen is small but workable; basic pots and utensils are there for simple cooking. Refrigerator is small and shallow, but sufficient for our small family. Ice is made in trays. Not a fancy place but very pleasant for a short stay. We did not use the woodstove, but did use the electric heat, so not super warm for chilly days, but acceptable.

I think for summer in Virginia, it is important to note that this property does not have AC and the windows are outdated making it nearly impossible to open them to use screens. Cabin would be great for early spring, fall and winter.

Overall good experience...but

The front door wouldn’t lock because the dead bolt didn’t line up with the metal insert on the door frame...looks like it’s been that way a while. Also one of the side window frames is rotted and also looks like it’s been that way a while...had to close the window from the outside (both security issues). I would rent again but not the same house...would also like a fire place.

Beautiful place with all things you need

We enjoyed our stay at this property. This was my first time to book through vrbo and my first trip to wintergreen. I do recommend you to visit this peace of paradise. The owner, Meredith, was responsive and helped us a lot before, during and after our staying in her property. The condo has almost everything you need. We only brought our own speaker. The condo has a cute stylish interior design that I liked. The tow balconies have nice view and atmosphere. There were only two issues. The sheets were not clean and there were not enough clean towels in the bathrooms. We contacted Meredith about these things and she was also surprised that the cleaners had forgot the sheets and towels. She was very kind and generous and reimbursed us the cleaning fee. Overall, I do recommend this place.

Avoid this home!!!

We arrived at the home and found it in a somewhat clean state; the house smelled bad, they painted and left the brush on the back deck, the towels and blankets have a moldy/humid smell, the kitchen drawers are dirty, there is no dishwashing sponge, the floors have black stains in various places, and to top things out there are mice in the house. Only some of the heating units work, lighting is poor, no provision for garbage (no tanks), no locks on the inner doors, the patio door is impossible to open and there is no A/C in the house.

Simple and needs more sitting room in living room

The house was clean even though it is showing its age (except for the updated kitchen). We had 2 families (party of 7) and had planned on the living room furniture as shown in the pictures (couch, love seat, and 2 chairs). But when we arrived all that was there was one couch (which was nicer than the ones in the picture) but no where near enough room for 7 of us to sit comfortably. We also notified the owner that there was not a tv in the 2nd bedroom (as it had been stated in the welcome packet we received) because we did not want to be charged. The owner replied quickly that had been removed by them. We were glad to have the wood stove, as it would have been difficult for the baseboard heaters to keep the house warm during the time we were there. If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. If you don't mind a simple, mismatched, quiet place to sleep, this will fit you perfectly. Again, the owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had.

It was ok

The door knob for the exterior door was broken on the inside, it was falling off so it made it difficult to exit the house because the door stuck so badly. The back door stuck really badly too and the screen door was broken. The kitchen was updated with plenty of dishes and glasses and utensils, nice countertops. The downstairs bathroom for the kids was updated but the upstairs bathroom for the master was terrible. The sink was so low, I needed to basically be on my knees to use it. There was only the one plastic shower curtain in each of the tubs, not an interior liner and exterior curtain. The drapes in the master were badly stained. The blinds in the family room were ripped. The carpet was very low grade, it was like indoor outdoor carpet, and there was carpet in the master bathroom which I thought was strange. Needs a bit of updating and TLC. The price was right for what we got.

Perfect

We were visiting with our grands who were in a play in Nellysford. The home was just perfect! Everything was clean and tidy. There were games and a very comfy Lazyboy that all enjoyed! We were so busy, we hardly had time to enjoy the home. Also, we were yards away from a beautiful walking trail.

Absolutely amazing

I don't know where to begin. This property exceeded my expectations. Not only was this the cleanest home we've stayed in but they went above and beyond on stocking the home with items that are needed that some may not remember to bring with them. From paper products and trash bags to laundry soap and shampoo. So extremely thoughtful! The home was exactly what we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable, pillows could use replacing as they've lost their luster and support. We usually bring our own, hut due to leaving our 4 kids home with my mother we left our pillows for her to use while she babysat for the week. The home was located in a perfect area for nearby hikes. I HIGHLY recommend the plunge, take the long way (brimstone trail to plunge trail) if you're wanting to experience a little begginer rock climbing. (My pregnant sister was able to climb without issues so it's not hard, just definitely wouldn't bring small kids on that part) Overall this home was perfect and really made our getaway/3 year wedding anniversary relaxing and comfortable for the entire week. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and possibly will this winter for tubing with the kids. This was our first Wintergreen experience and I have no complaints. Thank you so much to the owners for making this trip amazing.

Nice property but need to update listing.

This is a really nice property. We thought it to be spacious. We really enjoyed the well stocked kitchen but were very surprised at the size of the refrigerator. It was a small 60s style fridge. We had 3 coolers that we kept our food in for the week along with the jam packed fridge since it was so tiny. It is not the refrigerator shown in the listing. The beds were comfortable along with the living room furniture. We enjoyed the wraparound porch and rocking chairs. Also there was no Foosball table on the porch as the listing shows. In addition, there is no child's highchair as was listed. You will need to get chairs from the bedrooms if you have more than 4 people that you want to have seated at the table at once. We were misled initially by the listing. Although the property IS in the Wintergreen area, it is NOT part of the Wintergreen resort. Renters do not have access to the Wintergreen Resort perks. Renters have access to 2 separate pools. We did not visit these pools but I would highly recommend visiting Sherando Lake. Renter, be aware that this property is on the very top of the mountain that takes about 15 minutes to get to the top on a windy steep road. It has beautiful views on the way up the mountains but Def takes some practice shifting down and not riding the brakes on the way back down! Overall it is a really great property in a very quiet community.

Cozy Cabin!

Lovely cabin with great access to beautiful views, fun hikes, and the brew ridge trail! The wood stove was a hit and much appreciated! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Great long weekend

Spacious! We loved having the room to spread out and enjoy the weekend. Loved the location-saw all sorts of wildlife. There were some annoyances (wifi didn't work and couldn't connect), but with everything else going on at Wintergreen, it wasn't a big deal.

Had an excellent trip staying at this cabin. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Our primary contact and Evolve was very accommodating to our needs even with last minute asks. I would recommend this cabin to my family and friends!

Not a great place

The house was okay, the furnishings were dated, didn’t match ... the kitchen was dirty, although well appointed with equipment.. need a large pasta pot. Oven was not clean. Grill outside was basically disgusting. There were things in the house that would easily and inexpensively replaced rather than leave in the house. Need a guide for the TV. We probably will not rent again...

Just fine, not amazing.

The house/ linens were clean, location was lovely, and it served its purpose for a group of 5 ladies to get away for a weekend and there were plenty of beds, and mattresses were nice and firm. The wood stove was nice, and sliding glass doors were new. There is baseboard heat and a thermostat in each room. It was dated, but most Wintergreen houses are, but the house was clean. There was a small selection of games and DVDs, and it's easy enough to get to slopes, restaurants, and wineries nearby. We went in snow, so we didn't spend much time hiking or on the porches, but rather we stayed inside. The den area was a little smaller than I imagined, but the couch was comfy. The loveseat was uncomfortable, internet was slowish, and kitchen (fridge in particular) was an awkward space. There was no dish soap to wash dishes and only one hot-pad for the oven. Otherwise, well appointed, and the appliances worked well. We didn't use the gas grill, but they had plenty of propane ready for those who will. The gals who drank coffee said the coffee maker was very nice. Wintergreen resort didn't have a trash pickup (because of Bears, I think) so you have to go down to the resort Spa dumpsters to get rid of trash. This has nothing to do with the house itself, but is an issue you should be aware of if you stay at WG. Again, it was good, not amazing. The value was fair, and we enjoyed our time there. With good company, it was certainly worth doing again!
