Rendezvous in Portland!

A very nice place that helped us to bring nine family members from diverse regions together for a holiday stay. The hosts had all the extras that we needed, just like being at home.

Oregon Vibes

Perfect time with the family. I am 57 and had my two 83 year old parents and two 25-27 year old sons, and dog. We did the Columbia River Gorge and Cannon Beach. Restaurants in the binder are great, and today we are headed up to Seattle. Very sad to leave this home, but will definitely be back

Loved the location!

This was a very nice place to stay. We were in town for a wedding and 2 families (total of 9) stayed here. There was enough space and it was decorated very nice. I loved the area! Lots of restaurants and bars to walk to.

Nice Place

We enjoyed our stay. It rained the whole time so we were not able to enjoy the outdoor area except for throwing darts when the rain was only a drizzle.

Excellent accomodations for a big group!

We loved staying here! We had a large family group, including 4 children under the age of 4. The house had toys, a stroller, a pack'n play, and 2 baby gates you can set up for the stairs. It has plenty of room and was very clean/organized. It was also in a great area, within walking distance to fantastic pubs, restaurants, and shops that we loved exploring. My favorite part of the location is that it was next door to a coffee shop! The host was also extremely accommodating and communicative. Would highly recommend!

Snazzy space in a neighborhood with much to offer

What a fabulous place to stay for our four nights I. Portland after our four nights on the Oregon coast. The place itself was great for our two families traveling with adult children (so many faced of darts in the nifty courtyard yard space for example). There was a great amount of options to grab tasty food and drink with in walking distance also. The property was very well maintained and we really appreciated the book of recommendations from the hosts to guide our way. Even with Portland traffic our location made it relatively easy to get to all sorts of things we wanted to do.

Great visit!

We had a nice visit with family. This was a nicely updated house that made great use of space. The kids loved access to the dart board and we had plenty of space to visit. We appreciated the laundry access. Loved reading the book of the remodel history! Food trucks right next door and shops down the street! Only glitch is that someone graffiti'd the back of our van with a sharpie- luckily we were able to wipe it off with bleach wipe so no big deal.

Great location and lots of space!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The home had plenty of space and amenities and the surrounding area had so much to do, see, and eat. I gave 3/5 stars for cleanliness because we did find somebody’s left behind positive COVID test in one of the rooms that didn’t belong to us, which was a little concerning. We did also notice more than one of the bathroom door locks were broken, which created a couple of awkward situations among the large group. Overall it didn’t put too much of a damper on our stay though!

Guys trip!

Believe me when I say when you see these houses you feel like you just stepped foot into some sort of reality tv show!! They are amazing!!!!! Words can’t describe how awesome these pads are!!! We rented both the front and rear break for a guys weekend and it houses 15 of us no problem at all! Plenty of room for personal space and yet enough room to have all of us together comfortably! We honestly can’t wait to come back!!!

PDX paradise!

This was our first trip to Portland and we decided to book a stay on this beautiful and updated property! We loved that it was a residential community with shops and restaurants just steps away. We had a groups of teens and it ideal for them to walk to the food trucks or shops on their own. The house is as described - updated, well stocked, modern and great for group gatherings with board games, hula hoops and a dartboard outside. Our hosts Michelle and Klaus thought of everything. You can really tell they put a lot of love and care into the his house! We would definitely book another stay on one of their properties in the future as we appreciate the effort they put into making their guests stay a memorable one.

Great find!

We had a great time in Portland! Location is perfect - walking distance to the Mississippi District, great coffee shop on the corner, short taxi to downtown, easy access to freeway & airport. The house is well appointed - comfortably slept 10 women. We were there during a "heatwave" and some air conditioners started leaking - we called the owners and they were very responsive and quick to inspect/resolve the situation! Only recommendation would be to add more/bigger mirrors in the bathrooms/bedrooms! Maybe consider adding mirrored closet doors in bedrooms :-) Would recommend to others!

Perfect spot for a family wedding weekend in Portland

We recently stayed in the Rear Break for our daughter’s wedding in Portland. It was a perfect spot for us and our extended family who came for the wedding. The house is beautifully decorated and very functional. It has a well stocked kitchen and everything you need for a comfortable stay, including umbrellas! There’s plenty of room to spread out and, even with 8 adults, we didn’t feel crowded at all. And the Mississippi area is a fun place to stay with lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The downtown wedding venue was only a 10 minute drive. Very convenient. We had other family members rent the Front Break house on the front of the property which made it even more fun. The property manager is very responsive and easy to work with and the owner even dropped off an apple crisp for us to enjoy! It was a great base for our daughter’s perfect wedding weekend and we would definitely stay here again when we have a family or friends event in Portland.

A Great Comfort

This stay was about a court date of great importance to us. This lovely place was comfortable, clean, spacious and perfect for our stay. We all loved it. Since it was a group of people whom some did not know each other at all and some barely knew each other and some were family it was an interesting mix of people. The spaciousness made it easy for all of us to have private conversations, group meals, a game of darts for a few of us, work on a jigsaw puzzle for others. And the bus was close enough for one individual to go to Powell books, which he desired to do even though no one else was able to cope with that kind of adventure. It was instrumental in helping us all relax and enjoy those short moments of peace and ease. It was the perfect place for us and we are grateful. By the way, the court date turned out in our favor quickly and easily. So celebrating that event in your space was an added bonus. Thank You!

Comfortable space, great location, accurate listing.

Six friends stayed staging for a canoe trip. The beds are comfortable, the space well-designed and the hosts communicative and clear. The location is fantastic, with plentiful restaurants. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. Highly recommend for a group.

Great property in a fun area

My college girlfriends stayed at this lovely place for a long weekend. Anything we wanted or needed was at our fingertips - from sundries to adventures. The house is on a minorly busy street but you don't even notice noise or traffic. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and interesting sites nearby. The outdoor areas are spacious yet cozy. We needed to contact the owner with a couple of questions which were addressed with speed, efficiency, and personality. We would 100% stay here again if we hit Portland again!

Amazing property and family friendly

The property was so chic and beautiful. Well maintained and had so much to offer while in Portland. Our friends and I enjoyed our stay and the hosts were so prompt, polite and friendly. Definitely would stay again!

We are a husband and wife team who love to travel, mostly on bicycles, and love designing houses. We put both of those passions together with the two businesses we own. Encircle Design and Build is our home remodeling side, where we mainly focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and whole house remodels. We started Shift Vacation Rentals with our duplex on Alberta Street. When we were getting married we looked for a house that could accommodate all of our family members and couldn't find anything. This experience sprouted our idea to create well-designed, modern, artistic lodging for people coming to Portland in our favorite neighborhoods. We adore Portland and think its, if not the, then one of the best cities in the USA. We are excited to share our home and neighborhood with you as it offers so much. In the house there is a list of recommendations of what to do and see in PDX!

The location is amazing. Walking distance to some of Portland's coolest bars, restaurants, and shops. Mississippi District is the area that exemplifies what makes Portland unique, the locally owned businesses will inspire and wow you.
The house is adorable, extremely clean, well looked after and beautifully appointed. The house is only used as a vacation rental, so you don't feel like you are staying in someone's personal space. We strive to provide a home that is perfect and hope you have an amazing stay.
