The house is located in a great location, close to Shiloh St. on Mt. Washington, with easy access to Station Square via incline or driving. Setup of home is a little quirky with bedroom/hot tub on the 3rd level, living room/dining area and half bath on 2nd level and kitchen and full bath on ground floor. Other than that, home was comfortable and well-kept with easy walkability to all retail establishments needed (groceries, drug store, restaurant, liquor store).

The cottage was clean and listed correctly. It is a 2min walk from many different eateries. Kathy was extremely informative of different places to indulge from breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. I had a small problem logging into the internet and she stayed on the phone with me until the problem was solved. She's incredibly sweet and helpful. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Kathy for having me and thank you for the the muffins. I thoroughly appreciate and enjoyed them.

On the outside, it’s the cutest house in the immediate area! And the views—stunning! Nice restaurants just a couple blocks away. On the inside—nicely decorated, good quality overall. Hosts were quick to respond & made process simple. Highly recommend!

This was a very unique home with plenty of space and lots of character. Our hosts were clear with expectations and that made our stay easier. This home is located in the perfect place in the Mt. Washington area of Pittsburgh. There are local stores right down the street and fun things and places to go right down the block!The WiFi access is great as well.Any time we contacted our hosts, they responded very quickly and were especially kind toward us. We will be back for sure!

Great Location

The carriage house was in a great location! For a one house walk up the hill, you have amazing views of Pittsburgh and the meeting of the three rivers. The Monongahela Incline is a block away. Several restaurants are also a one block walk away feom the house. Parking is on the street. The house is 3 floors, with a spiral staircase to the second floor. The third fllor is the bedroom and there is no bathroom there. Window AC units kept 1st two floors cool but third floor was a little warmer than i like for sleeping.Hosts are great at communication if you need something.

Great location. We enjoyed taking the incline each day to explore downtown. Functional kitchen, with nice pans for cooking. Nice appliances. Coupon for the bakery was a nice touch. Listing said there was coin laundry but there was none. After talking to the owner sounds like a VRBO error. My wife found ants in the kitchen multiple times. Door locking instructions didn’t match the instructions. Had to call to ask how to lock it. Low ceiling in the bedroom. I kept hitting my head and I’m 6’. There is AC but it doesn’t cool off the bedroom which is on the top floor. Opening windows with no screens wasn’t an option. If there are 2 adults who want to rent outside of the hot months we would recommend.

What a beautiful location. Really close to some restaurants, but the best part is, walk a little and you have perfect views of the city.

Wonderful Weekend

Adam and Kathy were wonderful hosts. The property had everything we needed for our short stay for a friend’s wedding. They even accommodated our late arrival by setting up an electronic parking pass for us for our rental car so we didn’t need to worry about a thing. Would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy beautiful Pittsburgh skyline views.

Very cool place in an awesome spot

The property was a unique little cozy place in just an awesome location. Listing is correct, 30 steps to an awesome view of the entire city. Everything was clean when I got there and they had the air conditioners in and fans to make sure it was comfortable as when I arrived. Also had a treat of some delicious muffins for me! Only minor downsides, motorcycles tend to gather on the road at the top of the hill and can be loud at times and anyone over 6’ may bump their head in the upstairs bedroom (I perfectly fit). Also I could see parking being difficult at times, I got lucky with a spot right in front and didn’t move it all weekend, but weren’t many available. Overall 5 stars, great little place and I’d definitely stay again!

Fantastic little neighborhood

Little house was exactly what we needed for 2 people in separate beds. The Shiloh neighborhood where the house sits has everything you need within walking distance. Fantastic little area with a variety of restaurants and bars. The overlook view steps away from the house is unbeatable. It was surprisingly easy to get in and out of the area with a small rental car. Parking was never a problem. The funicular tram took us right down to the river for a boat cruise one night.Only thing of concern was that the 3rd floor bedroom where the big bed is located traps heat. So on the warm days it was not possible to use it for sleeping. Wouldn't be enough to keep me away, we'd gladly stay again!

Great Spot for a Long Weekend in Pittsburgh

Great cottage in an excellent location, with beautiful views of the city from Mt. Washington. Owners were awesome, and even left us some “welcome muffins,” which was a nice touch. Would suggest knowing how to parallel park on your right and left.

Perfectly located unique home

My fiancé and I loved our stay here! It’s within walking distance to multiple great restaurants and bars, along with convenience stores and grocery shopping. The house had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. We especially loved sitting on the second floor veranda for coffee each morning. Everything was as advertised in the photos and description. Highly recommend this adorable little house in Mt Washington!

Really great place just outside of downtown Pittsburgh

We had a wonderful stay at a place with some wonderful, thoughtful hosts. It’s definitely a place geared towards those traveling solo or as a couple. The neighborhood places to eat and drink are all wonderful and we really did try to try them all over our four days. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m ever back in the ‘Burgh.

Adult Weekend Away

My husband and I took our first adult only trip away since we’ve been married, this was such a lovely space to unwind and see the beautiful city of Pittsburgh! The restaurants nearby were fantastic!

A Gem in a Great Location

We enjoyed our stay, which was close to shops and restaurants, and within just a couple minutes walk of the Mount Washington incline, and even closer to perfect city views across the river. The hosts are friendly and responsive, and the guesthouse just as advertised.

It was a nice stay. A little difficult to walk to downtown. Five foot ten ceilings upstairs was a bit quirky.

Wonderful Mt. Washington home!

This was an amazing property. Very unique with tons of character in a fabulous location that was convenient to everything in Pittsburgh but in it's own little community. The house was stocked with everything we needed (enough linens, toiletries, extras like sandwich bags... you never know what you will need!). The communication with the owners could not have been better, they really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and get us oriented to the area. The home is as advertised, and the stairs were a little treacherous in socks with a bad knee, but that's all part of the fun. Perfect getaway for a couple- we saw a concert at Acrisure Stadium, which was very accessible with the incline and the T, and then enjoyed another evening on Mt. Washington at the local restaurants, bars, and shops. We especially loved Gordo's Tacos and live music on the patio at Redbeard's, and bought some goodies at the "Love Pittsburgh" shop. We will book this property again for our next Pitt trip!

Perfect Stay!

PERFECT spot to stay in Pittsburgh. Great home, beautiful views, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The hosts were very responsive and wonderful with their recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a better first time visiting the city and would definitely come back.

My wife and I live in the SW PA Mountains. We bought this house for a second home to use when we go to the City of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgese THE BURG )
I am a Psychologist practicing in Pittsburgh and Altoona with UPMC Med Centers. I am semi-retired from my private practice.
My wife is currently a teacher and is retired Chief Financial Officer of our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic .
We love to travel and have really enjoyed sharing our little Maple Terrace Carriage House with folks from all over the world.

We fell in love with the house and the area of Mt Washington. There is so much to do here. It is so relaxing to know that we can park our car and walk or take public transportation to just about everything in the city.
Mount Washington is a safe area and the opportunity to walk to Stores, Bars and Restaurants, Pharmacy, Banks, Flower shops, Gift shops, Ice Cream and Coffee shop, Liquor store, Post office, Grocery store, Pizza shop and Library makes the area and its
" wakability"so very special.
Mount Washington itself has so much history.
The Grandview area has a special walking trail called the Emerald Walkway. There are hiking trails throughout the area and parks within walking distance. The Appalachian Trail Bike Hike Trail starts here in Pittsburgh and ends in Washington DC.
The property in itself is very unique, it was built with antique windows, hand carved doors, cut glass and hand carved wooden faces that greet you at the door.

This little house was built by a man who had access to parts of historical homes from the Mexican War Section of the city of Pittsburgh. He incorporated the beautiful sconces, hand carved doors and stained glass windows when recreating this little carriage house.
