COME BASK IN THE LIGHT OF THE MOUNTAIN at... Michael's Mystic Mountain Retreat!
This spacious three bedroom, two bathroom chalet is located six miles north of central Mount Shasta. It's panoramic views of Mount Shasta, Shastina and Black Butte, are seen from nearly every room in the house. Located on 35 acres, the home is on a beautiful natural meadow that backs up to a forest of tall pines. In addition to having all the modern conveniences, the home has two large decks, one off the master bedroom and the other wraps around the front and side with a hot tub, and sauna both facing the awesome mountain view. The house is easily large enough for one or two families yet cozy enough for a romantic getaway. Small spiritual group retreats up to 12 people inquire with owner by phone or email for special rates.
The large master suite opens out onto a large deck with more views of the mountain. It offers a full bath, walk in closet and a queen-size log canopy bed. You will open your eyes to the magic of the Mount Shasta view.
In addition the home has two loft ares, one is a billiard room for your fun and pleasure. There are family games, books and cards. The other loft is a pillow room with a futon.
All this seclusion and yet just a 10 min drive to the quaint downtown Mount Shasta shops and restaurants. Your chalet is only one and a half miles off Highway 5. It's 15 minutes to water sports at Lake Shastina and Lake Siskiyou and 15 minutes to winter skiing on the mountain.
There are dirt roads accessing the house, in winter months a 4 wheel drive vehicle is required.
Hike the mountain, the crags, the caverns and local waterfalls. Explore sacred sights and tune into the high vibration of Mother Nature all under the magic of the mountain.

We had a amazing time at Karen’s cabin ,we spent Christmas there and everything was perfect just like were Home but we were on vacation ,the aura this cabin was very soothing ,the local contact was beyond helpful and a pleaser to meet ,this is a place we will go to again hands down
Rain or shine just what we needed for a fall retreat
We stayed 3 nights with our son, daughter in law and first grand child. It was an ideal setting for us. It rained the first day and we didn't even see the mountain. The second day the mountain revealed itself and for an added treat we saw a full moon rise over it and highlight one of those little cap clouds. The house is nicely decorated and well equipped. The kitchen, living room and wood burning stove serve up a cozy setting to hold and play with a 5 month old and to connect with family. It is conveniently located for quick access to Shasta and Mount Shasta. We would definitely rent again.
Mystic and Wonderful
Great place to hang out with friends, laugh and relax. This home is staged well and has a very comfortable feeling inside and out. You can play horseshoes, relax in the hot tub, stare at Mt Shasta and watch numerous deer walk around the property. Thanks.
Dreamy Comfy Seclusion With Superb Views and Amenities
The worst thing I can say about this home is that it was so comfy and beautiful with such great views of Mt. Shasta and Black Butte that it was hard for us to get motivated to go out and hike. The vistas from the windows, the high ceilings, the natural daylight in the house, the well-equipped kitchen, the hot tub on the deck and attractive comfortable furniture were all enjoyed by us. We will be back and hopefully with more family members so they can enjoy it with us. Another great feature is that although the house is marvelously secluded and quiet, it is actually fast and easy to get into town to get groceries. A perfect stay.
As advertised, a wonderful, mystical experience under the ever alluring Mt Shasta!
Michael's Mystic mountain review
We enjoyed the view of Mt. Shasta from the living room but there were a few negatives about staying at Michaels Mystic Mt. 1. It was very hot inside the first day we arrived. The air conditioning was not set at a comfortable level. It took the entire night for the house to be comfortable. 2. We were charged for using the grill -- I think that charge should be part of the rental fee. 3. We were warned to keep the spa clean -- as in having to shower before entering. If the water is found to be cloudy there is a $45 charge for draining and cleaning. This information was provided in the welcome note. 3. We were expected to strip our beds, put the towels and bedding into the pillow cases, put them into the laundry room, and start a load of laundry before we left on the final day. Quite frankly, even if we had stayed in a cheap hotel the management takes care of stripping beds and laundry. We wouldn't have minded much about stripping the beds, but having to start laundry? No. 4. There was a window that would not close all the way, so we could not lock it when we needed to leave on the last day. We called the housekeeper, and she asked us to go outside and push on the window from the outside in order to shut the window. This required taking off the screen. Even doing this we were unable to shut the window completely. An inconvience. 5. The downstairs shower is hard to figure out. Some directions would have been helpful.
Just a note for those who have children: this is NOT a toddler friendly house. The stairs are steep, and the field outside is full of star thistle. I don't consider this a problem for the owner, as much as an error in judgement on our part. Also, and again given the location this is to be expected, internet connection is uneven.
I would not recommend this place for a stay to my friends.
