Casa de dos dormitorios "Straddie" renovada. Excelente ubicación frente a la entrada al Gorge Walk. A solo minutos a pie de tiendas, restaurantes, la playa principal y la terminal de autobuses. Cubiertas en los lados sur y este de la casa con agua y vistas a la playa de Main Beach.

Características: 2 dormitorios, 1 baño, lavavajillas, microondas, lavadora automática, secadora, TV, reproductor de DVD, radio pequeña / reproductor de CD, parcialmente apantallado, ventiladores de pedestal, barbacoa de gas, ducha al aire libre.

Quant and comfortable

This quant old house is perfectly situated at Point Lookout. It is equipped with everything you need. Having the kangaroos and Curlews wandering free through the garden was an extra bonus.

Cute cottage and great location

Our stay at this cute little cottage was warm inside despite the cooler and rainy weather outside. It was perfect for relaxing and once the weather got better we ventured out for many walks around the gorge walk and down to main beach and also round to deadman’s & frenchmens beaches. We saw whales, dolphins, turtles & kangaroos on our gorge walks. The kitchen is sufficient to cook basic meals. There is a bbq on the deck which we didn’t use. It’s nice to have a deck on both sides of the cottage to shield from wind but be in the sunshine. Would definitely stay here again. My son and girlfriend stayed with us for 2 nights and it wasn’t crowded. It would be good however if there was a working clothesline and/or small clothes airer for drying towels and small items.

Lovely cottage in an unbeatable location

The location is excellent, right by the bakery, fish and chip shop, gelato, gorge walk and main beach, so is very convenient for a relaxed holiday where most things you need are walkable. The spacious deck is perfect for staying out of the sun in the middle of the day or evening drinks and overlooks a grassy hill where kangaroos and curlews are constant visitors. The beds are very comfortable and the shower and toilet are separate which is nice for convenience. The kitchen is very well stocked with a full size fridge/ freezer and variety of cookware and utensils, making cooking easy. There are only fans in the bedrooms, not in the living area, but it wasn't a problem for us even in summer as there are screened sliding doors on either side which let the breeze in to keep things cool. A true beach cottage, this quaint little house has everything you need to escape everyday life and unwind.

It's so comfy and cosy while being surrounded by amazing wildlife. We were very disappointed to find that a shop was being built on the 'kangaroo patch' right outside our back door. Such a shame that the real estate didn't even think to mention this!!! Ps. A new bbq would be a great investment as the current one is totally un-usable.

Cottage is clean and well kept. The best location for any house on Straddie. Would absolutely stay here again at the great rate you can get for the house!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Despite of the good location the place is very noise due to buses and cars coming and going. The beds very UNCOMFORTABLE and the pillows, doonas, bed linen in poor condition .Practicals coming out which set up my allergic reaction. Due to this we had to LEAVE 2 days earlier. Fans, chairs rusty.Couch is uncomfortable to sit on and very close to the TV. The place is really run down I wouldn't recommended this to any one during the Christmas period.

We'd walk across the road to sit with our morning cuppas on the green hillside overlooking the stunning surf beach, with the wallabies, we'd wander across for a gorge walk, or stroll down to main beach, and the shops were right beside us if we needed anything.

A very relaxing stay

Amazing holiday rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ve stayed at the Gorge Walk Cottage several times over the years and it never disappoints. The location just can’t be beaten - walking distance to Main, Frenchmans, Cylinder and Home beaches, and steps to the Gorge Walk which, no matter how many times you do it, never gets old. Right next door to the Point Lookout shops with restaurants, cafes, Foodworks and the Stradbroke Hotel also close by. The two balconies are perfect spots to have coffee and breakfast in the morning or drinks in the evening - kangaroos are always around the house in the early morning and evening - on our most recent visit there was even a koala in the tree out front! While the house itself is fairly basic, it is extremely well equipped and always immaculate. Check in and check out couldn’t be easier and the staff at Ray White are fantastic. You just can’t go wrong with this place!

A wonderful week at the beach!

However the place is equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay and the location is unbeatable. It's close to shops and bus stop which is convenient but you can also hear it all happening during the day. We didn't mind as were out most of day. Highly recommended.

Great little place but needs some TLC

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay but did have some issues with cleanliness and broken items. We love the simplicity of this little place but it does need a bit more TLC. Carpets very musty in bedrooms even after days of open doors / windows. Real estate did try to resolve some of the issues of broken items etc which was appreciated. This was our second time at this property. We still enjoyed our stay and love Straddie.

Cheated!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ve been renting from Ray White on Stradbroke for over 30 years, and this is by far the worst I’ve had. The cottage is just sadly too old to be useful any more for the price you asked and I paid ($350/night). There is no street access; we had to slog up a steep grassy hill with bags and baggage, parking in the road in front. Clothes line rotten timber. Doors onto deck hard to open. Mattresses sagging. Ventilation in bedrooms via timber frame windows hard to open.Stovetop rusted. Plates, glasses, cutlery random and cheap. Little cookware but then, could you use the stovetop anyway?OK: despite the disappointing accommodation, Straddie itself never disappoints. Location excellent if you’re not bothered by being on a public drag. I suggest knocking Gorge Walk cottage down and building something special on the spot, for which some people will be happy to pay big.

Gorge Walk Cottage - Needs Time Off the Market for Repairs

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's a beach shack in a great location. While we had a good time at Stradbroke Island and happy with basic accommodation, I believe this property needs to be taken off the holiday rental market and the owner needs to invest in making a lot of repairs to the property. Here's what went wrong with our stay, you be the judge: Unsafe BBQ (it could injure someone); front door deadlock broke and requires replacing; beam for side deck needs replacing so that the deck floorboards are fixed; toilet leaks; tap in bathroom leaks; sliding screen door locking mechanisms need to be maintained; unsecure windows around property; no driveway onto property making it diffficult for car to access the property in the wet/rain.

Lovely stay at Gorge Walk Cottage

This property is really lovely, and in a great location. It was clean, and really well stocked. The only thing missing was a clothes horse, which would have been useful. We took an extra heater, and were glad that we had. Loved the board games being available. It would probably be handy to know that the property is quite hard to get to, if elderly or with a stroller, etc. before booking, but that did not impact our stay, personally - just thought I would mention it! Wifi may be a useful addition to make the property 11 out of 10!!

Gorge Walk - Great Location

We had a lovely 2 weeks. Central location but quiet and handy to beaches and shops. Would come back again.
