A One Bedroom, Top-floor End Unit, On The Great Lawn at the Center of Property
Hale Kamaluhia Poipu (House of Serenity at Poipu: please feel free to check out the condo website using the Hawaiian name) at Kiahuna Plantation (Unit 53 in building 10) is a newly renovated one bedroom, one bath condo, upstairs corner unit, in a two-story plantation style building, with a stunning view of the great lawn and the Twin Bridges Garden, as it is centrally located. The end, upstairs unit allows for more open louvers and great cross ventilation and is a short stroll to Kiahuna's sandy beach.
The condo comfortably sleeps four, with a king size bed and a queen size sofa bed available. The condo comes with complimentary use of the pool, fitness club and tennis courts facility at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club across the road from the complex (open every day), a few minutes walk away. Kiahuna Plantation is the only condo complex in Poipu on a swimming beach; beach chairs and towels are complimentary to guests at the onsite Beach Hut.
All towels, linens and toiletries are provided to our guests. Guest services are managed by an onsite management company. The condo has ceiling fans and an abundance of louvered windows and doors to create cross breezes (none of the units at Kiahuna have air conditioning). Free wireless internet access is provided to our guests. A new large flat screen television is available in the living room. Gas grills are nearby and available for our guests' use. The brand new, renovated kitchen, with all new stainless steel appliances, new quartz countertops, new cabinets, sink, pots, pans, and appliances, too, is fully stocked should you wish to cook "at home"; there are two local supermarkets and, for those who prefer not to cook, the Plantation Garden restaurant is on site serving dinner and there are an abundance of local restaurants to dine at as well. Our new tile shower has both rainforest or jet control options.
Our lanai provides a tranquil setting to dine, to have your morning coffee or to simply sit and watch the day go by or to experience the setting sun in a kaleidoscope of stunning color and splendor.
This is a remarkably peaceful place, with the manicured lawns and gardens, the stunning beach, and a true sense of the spirit of Kauai as a place for relaxation, rejuvenation, and renewal.

About James Dawson and Shaun Mattivi
We have been coming to Kauai for many years; one of us lived here for a short time in the early 1990's and we have both been regular visitors since 2003. We live and work in New York and we have a home in Scottsdale, Arizona as well, but this place has always had a special place in our hearts, for its beauty and peace.

Why James Dawson and Shaun Mattivi chose Poipu
For the past many years, we have been drawn to this island, and particularly to the Poipu area; it was several years ago that we first discovered Kiahuna Plantation and began to seriously consider becoming owners here. During our various visits, and after looking at many units, we both fell in love with unit 53 and yearned for the chance to own this one very special unit; it had a view that mesmerized us, a setting that is hard to beat, a beach that is close by and easily accessible and, being an end unit, the kind of open air breezes, and open spaces that were, for us, the very best of the very best that Kiahuna Plantation could offer. We are delighted to call Unit 53 ours and have named it Hale Kamaluhia (House of Serenity). In the fall of 2016 we undertook a major renovation, installing a new kitchen with brand new appliances, countertops and cooking supplies; we added a travertine tile shower with a shower tower providing both a rainforest or jet option. We installed brand new plantation shutters; we upgraded the electrical system; we had the place painted and new lights, a new flatscreen, a new living room ceiling fan, along with a complete redecorating scheme put in place. We welcome you to share in our joy and peace by spending some of your own time and finding your own place in this space we feel privileged to call our own.
What makes this Condo unique
It's a great thrill to wake up to and spend time with a view of the great lawn, to take in the splendid setting, and the twin bridge gardens, knowing full well that the beach is a mere two minutes or so away but never feeling compelled to go anywhere if sitting still and simply daydreaming works for you. Kiahuna is so well situated that you can choose from a range of options from doing nothing to heading to the beach or planning for activities like horseback riding, kayaking, surfing, or touring some of the stunning natural beauty that is Kauai (ie. Waimea Canyon comes to mind). It's the kind of place that never gets old and where each day is as new as the countless ones before: filled with beauty, with peace, and with endless possibility.

Great place to call home for your vacation!
My wife and I spent 16 nights in this fantastic condo. It was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted it to be special. Thanks to James and Shaun’s efforts in making their condo one of the nicest in the plantation, we had a great experience. They provide everything you could want or need to have a great time while relaxing on the island. Very comfortable bed and love the new shower! Bar BQ’s are next to the unit and are cleaned every morning by staff.
We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

We have stay at Kiahuna Plantation the past 3 years. This is the nicest unit we have stayed in. We will definitely book this unit again. James and Shaun were great to work with. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen we have used. The shower is wonderful. May need to install one at home. Great location. Great grounds. Great access to beach. Great access to restaurants. You will enjoy yourself!

First off, James and Shaun provided a great condo for me and my wife to stay in on our December visit. Everything we needed was available to us. The view from the lanai was an expansive well manicured grassy area that featured an impressive tree. It was literally a short 3 min walk to the beach. I was really impressed with the Kiahuna Plantation. It is in a great central location with tons of things to do. We will definitely come back, and surely stay in #53 if available. An upscale condo in a quiet peaceful resort in the heart of Poipu.
So glad I found this unit when searching through endlesss choices of accommodations in Poipu. It was, as advertised, an immaculate, newly remodeled condo with a gorgeous view of the resort grounds. The kitchen was well appointed with new cookware and excellent cutlery: a refreshing change from typical rental units offering a hodgepodge of scratched non-stick pots and pans and dull knives. The unit is very nicely decorated with new condition furniture. The deck looks out onto a lush expansive garden. And check out the massive, historic tree at the center of focus. A great place sit and enjoy morning coffee or a Mai Tai in the afternoon! I was very impressed with the gracious, friendly and responsive correspondence of the owners. They conveyed a true sense they wanted to share the magical experience of their retreat with others. I highly recommended this charming unit and look forward to retuning someday in the future.

Kiahuna Plantation is the area's only resort on the ocean with a swimming beach; towels and chairs are provided to guests at no cost.

Additional information about rental rates Fees: Effective for new reservations for stays commencing as of May 1, 2018, a mid-stay cleaning is not required except for stays of 10 days or more at a rate of $70 plus tax for each cleaning. Guests can choose to have more frequent cleanings at rates that are available upon request. For new reservations, effective May 1, 2018, the check out cleaning fee will be $160 plus tax for stays of one to nine days and for stays of 10 days or more, the check out fee will be $240 but that will include the required mid-week cleaning. Cleaning requirement is set by the association in conjunction with the Rental Advisory Board and not by the owner. Rates are established by the Rental Advisory Board and are subject to change. Fee is paid directly to the management company on site at check-out. Payment is also accepted through PayPal or via check. With the newly initiated VRBO payment fee structure, you can avoid those fees if you choose to pay through PayPal or via check. Please contact the owner for further information.
