Tranquility - Brand new hot tub, 3bd/3ba, pool table, river access, community lake
Tranquility at the Lake is a wonderful 3 bedroom 3 bath log home, brand new hot tub (2022) seasonal vews of the water and mountains. NO DOGS NO EXCEPTIONS Located inside the main gate of Riverbend at Lake Lure, you will leave the world behind, travel well maintained gravel roads wind around the lake to your home away from home. With only a few steps to the main level, this home offers almost level entry. Enjoy your first cup of coffee from the large wrap around porch as you listen to the sounds of nature and plan your days activities. The great room, with rock fireplace and gas logs vaulted ceilings and open to the dining area is the perfect place to sit back and relax while dinner is cooking. Featuring 3 stories, this log home has a master bedroom ensuite with dual vanities and stand up shower on the main floor. Also on the main living area is the kitchen and dining area with seating for 6 the kitchen has stainless appliances, drip coffee pot, granite countertops.
The upper level has a large loft open to the great room and fireplace with 2 twin beds, a large bedroom with queen size bed and shared bath with shower and tub. Going downstairs to the lower level you find a comfy sitting area, TV and pool table just waiting for the next game to begin. Around the corner is the bedroom with a queen bed and doors to the lower deck. Another full bathroom with shower and tub complete the inside lower level. Just outside on the lower deck, brand new hot tub relax and unwind.
For the more active guests, there are two (2) private lakes (Big Mirror Lake & Little Mirror Lake), that allow for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats (no motorized boats except electric), private access to the Broad River, picnic areas, gazebos, pavilions, hiking trails, beach area, swimming, fishing, and gas BBQ grills for your enjoyment. There's an “Old Swimming Hole” along the river and a lovely Nature Walk where you can picnic and enjoy the community waterfall.
"Riverbend at Lake Lure", is a private gated community. During your stay you will have access to enjoy all the amenities of Riverbend at Lake Lure: Mirror Lake, the covered picnic site is complete with picnic tables, rocking chairs, stone fireplaces, restrooms and spectacular views, and beach area, the Broad River Old Swimming Hole, walking trails, and seating by the waterfall and along the Broad River. The fishing is excellent a valid NC State Fishing license is required. Deer and wild turkey are sited regularly. Western North Carolina offers a number of entertainment and activity options as well as some of the most beautiful views you will ever see.

HOME RULES First, be aware the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act provides you with certain rights and protections. Second, we would like to make you aware of a few local regulations designed to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS: The maximum overnight occupancy limit for this home is 8 people. You must provide us with the number of people and vehicles in your group. Violation of occupancy rules are grounds for immediate eviction with no refund, and fees will be charged to your credit card to cover any damages.
DESIGNATED PARKING: Vehicles must be parked only in designated areas on the vacation rental property. Parking in the roadway blocking the flow of traffic and parking on neighbor's property without permission are prohibited. There is parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles at this property, no exceptions. Absolutely NO boats, trailers, campers, RV's, large passenger vans, ATV or off-road vehicles of ANY kind regardless if they are street legal, or any other oversized vehicles of ANY kind. Overflow parking is available on a first come first serve basis beside main gate.
ACCESS: This home is located inside a gated community with restricted access. If you have any questions, please let us know. Finding this home at night may be difficult and cell phone service is not reliable.
TRASH DISPOSAL: Because of BEARS we ask that all trash be removed at the end of your stay. Riverbend at Lake Lure does not offer daily trash service. Guest is responsible for taking trash to community dumpster. Dumpster is located beside the main gate for Riverbend.
MINIMUM AGE: You must be at least 25 years of age to reserve a rental property. You must sign a rental agreement and be a guest at the property during the entire term of the stay. You must present a valid government ID within 72 hours of reservation.
NO HOUSE PARTIES: We do not accept reservations from sororities, fraternities, spring-break parties, bachelor / bachelorette / wedding parties, or any similar groups unless approved at time of reservation. Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals works closely with local law enforcement to patrol our rental homes. We have a ZERO tolerance policy for noise of any kind.
FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR SAFETY: This home is equipped with working fire extinguishers and a posted evacuation plan. Removing any of these from their designated location is prohibited. Avoid storing items not to block hallways, doorways, steps, entrances, and exits. When an area burning ban is in effect, bonfires are prohibited. Contact your rental home's property manager for information on any burning bans. Small outdoor fires are permitted in the fire pit ONLY.
LAKE ACTIVITIES: Do not swim farther than 50 feet from shore unless accompanied by an observer in a boat. A North Carolina fishing license is required, and all state fishing regulations apply.
TRESPASSING: Trespassing or venturing onto a neighboring property without the owner's permission is prohibited.
NO SMOKING: Smoking, Vaping and Electronic cigarettes are prohibited in all our vacation rental homes. You will be assessed an additional cleaning fee if it is discovered you have been smoking and/or vaping in the home of $500. We ask that all smokers stay a minimum of 10 ft from any open window or door, do not stand near open doors or windows allowing smoke to enter the home while smoking on property. Please make sure butts and ashes are not left behind. Discard the butts and ashes in the outside garbage. Do not throw butts on the ground (including the fire pit) or bring them into the home. If there is any tobacco smell in the home after your departure, there will be a minimum $500 charge. Oil lamps and incense are not permitted due to the long-lasting odor. If these policies are violated, there will be a charge for excessive cleaning.
NOISE: Unreasonably loud noise is prohibited throughout the Town of Lake Lure. Please observe quiet hours after 10 p.m. and be aware that sound carries very far in our quiet little community.
UNRULY BEHAVIOR: Behavior deemed disorderly and causing a disturbance to the public is prohibited. These regulations will be strictly enforced.
PETS/ANIMALS: PETS/ANIMALS are NOT ALLOWED in this home. If you are found to be in violation of this rule you will be required to vacate the property and forfeit the remainder of your stay. You will also be assessed a fine of $500 for the violation. No refunds will be given! Any non-reported dogs will most certainly be discovered on the Homeowners exterior security cameras and the penalties in the Rental Agreement will be strictly enforced. This includes a $500 fine and you will be asked to vacate the home immediately, regardless of the scheduled duration of your stay and forfeit all rents.
INTERNET/ SATELLITE / TV/ CELL SERVICE: Because of our mountainous terrain, heavy foliage, and frequent rain, satellite internet can sometimes be undependable, and certainly not fast. But most people find our internet sufficient for Netflix with a pinch of patience, and email for work. Do not depend on good enough service for video conference meetings for school or work. Most of our homes are not hard wired for internet and depend on satellite service. Homes advertised with internet or satellite TV may experience disruption of service due to foliage or weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Cellular service is also not reliable in our area.
BOOKING WEBSITES: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Your total amount listed on the Mr. Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party website used for booking. All third-party websites charge service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them.
RENTAL AGREEMENT AND TOTAL BALANCE: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Failure to sign rental agreement with-in 72 hours of booking, will result in cancellation of reservation and forfeiture of deposit. Any monies received by Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals for occupancy of vacation property indicated the acceptance of the terms of our vacation rental agreement in full. Your total amount listed on the Mr. Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party site you book through. All third-party sites charge differing amounts as service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them. Please read your vacation rental agreement carefully before you begin your vacation. All policies are strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of all guests and members of their party to be familiar with all policies pertaining to rental.
ALL PROPERTIES OFFER AN INITIAL SUPPLY OF THE FOLLOWING AMENITIES: (including, but not limited to): bed linens and bath towels (1-2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths per Tenant, 2 hand towels per bathroom sink), dishwasher detergent (2 loads) and dishwashing soap, sponge, laundry detergent (2 loads), hand soap, (1 set per bathroom sink, including hotel size: 1 bar of soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 lotion), paper towels (1 roll), toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom), and garbage bags (2 kitchen bags, plus 2 black bags). If you don't feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. All properties provide fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, including coffee makers as well as some cooking utensils. Locked pantries and closets are reserved for the use of the Property Owner and are not accessible to Tenant. Rearranging furniture or removing any items from the Property is prohibited. Condiments and cooking essentials are not provided.
ITEMS YOU WILL/MAY WANT TO BRING FOR YOUR STAY: Extra folding chairs, beach towels, shampoos/ body soaps, hair dryers, basic cooking condiments, tin foil, plastic wrap, food storage containers, coffee, board games, fishing poles & tackle, floats, life preservers for toddlers/infants, golf clubs.
ADDITIONAL FEES: Booking on Airbnb, all additional fees (Processing fee, Damage Waiver, Resort fees, etc.) are combined with the housekeeping fee. This causes the housekeeping fee to appear much higher than it is. Feel free to contact us for a breakdown of those fees.
CHECK IN: 4:00 p.m., local time IF YOU PLAN ON ARRIVING AFTER 7 pm Call our office to coordinate after-hours access. Our Office Address: 106 Arcade Street, Lake Lure 28746 CHECK OUT: 10:00 a.m. local time (or earlier) NO EXCEPTIONS. Housekeeping will arrive very shortly after 10:00 a.m. to prepare the home for the next Guest. Late check-outs will be charged the applicable daily rate or $50 per hour, whichever is greater to the credit card on file if the home has not been vacated by 1:00 pm.
*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.
IMPORTANT RIVERBEND COMMUNITY GUIDELINES Riverbend is a gated residential community. Please be respectful of neighbors. • No loud music or excessive noise after 10 pm. • Fireworks are never allowed in Riverbend. • Do not lift gate. It will break gate and result in a fine. Homeowner is responsible for admitting guests after gate hours. Please contact homeowner for after hour entry at any time. • Entrance and exit gates admit only one car per entry. No tailgating. It will break gate system. • Please display visitor pass at all times while in Riverbend. Guest pass will be provided to guests by either the owner or the Gate Staff at the main entrance gate (Rainbow Circle). • The speed limit in Riverbend is 15 MPH or less AT ALL TIMES. We share our roads with hikers, homeowners walking their dogs and wildlife. The speed limit will be strictly enforced. • Dogs MUST be leashed at all times. Guests must pick up behind their pets. Dogs are NOT allowed at the Beach at any time. Homeowners will be fined if guests have a dog on the beach. Dogs are welcome at Swimming Hole, river, and Riverwalk. Guests shall not leave their dogs unattended and must curtail excessive barking. • No vehicles may park on any roads in Riverbend including the road over the dam which is between Mirror Lake and the Riverwalk. Parking is available next to the post office box building near the main gate or at the parking area above Riverwalk or the gravel area next to beach. • Driving on the beach/ sand is strictly prohibited. • No kayaks/canoes may be left overnight at the beach. Kayak slots are by assignment only. • Open fires in Riverbend are prohibited. Use of fire pits with covers is allowed if owner permits. • Guests shall not litter in Riverbend but shall dispose of trash in receptacles provided by Riverbend or use "pack it in and pack it out" rules. • Bagged household trash may be disposed of at the compactor at the front gate. (Rainbow Circle).

This property was absolutely perfect for our family Thanksgiving holiday. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and cookware. Everything was in working order and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. Thank you for a wonderful stay and this propoerty will be one we return to for sure.

Great getaway
What a fabulous getaway and views of the lake. My only advice would be to bring some floats or something for the lake to save money as opposed to buying them at Ingles. Can't wait to come again. This was our first time staying in Riverside.

We enjoyed the well-appointed cabin with the amazing scenery. Peaceful location right on a spur of Lake Lure. The property has very strict rules as to tenancy and visitors.

Thank you for the great review Kevin. I felt compelled to reply so future Guests are not discouraged by your comments. The community doesn't have struct rules ... at all. The number of Guests is mandated and regulated by the State of North Carolina. The community does provide a maximum number of cars allowed for each vacation rental home, to insure this quiet sleepy mountain community is not inundated with cars during holidays and peak periods. They ask you respect your neighbors regarding noise and gatherings, and do not allow parties. There definitely are not any rules that would be considered restrictive to the average Guests. I can only guess that because you were here on Thanksgiving weekend, that you may have wanted more cars or occupants than allowed. Another side note so Guests are not confused by the review. Great home with an awesome view. It was a bit of a drive from the gate and the internet went in and out. Those were not deal breakers for us. Loved our stay♥️

Family Getaway
My family and I stayed in the cabin for a much needed Christmas getaway. Check in was very easy. The scenery was beautiful. The cabin was clean and peaceful with enough space for our group of 6 so we were not on top of each other. However, we did find the queen bed in the loft was a little hard. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable.

Great property but not on Lake Lure
The only downside to this property is that it’s on a much smaller lake adjacent to Lake Lure, not on Lake Lure itself.

Nice getaway for the family
The location was wonderful. The neighborhood has its own beachfront, waterhole and trails that were such a pleasant surprise! The house was was clean and had its charm. Hot tub and the pool table were great to have. The only thing I would forewarn future renters is the neighborhood streets are not paved and can be difficult if you don’t have 4 wheel drive. Also the driveway is very narrow getting in and out. But all in all my family had a wonderful time!

We are very happy you enjoyed the stay. So that future Guests are not discouraged by your review, I felt compelled to give some follow-up. The roads in this community are not paved. However, there are over a hundred residents in this community, and many are full time residents with regular passenger cars. Our housekeeper also drives a Toyota Camery. We don't feel the roads at all require a 4WD.
We hope to host a stay for you again in the future.

Wedding Trip
The property was very clean, the office stayed in contact with us, and they were easy to get in contact with. The issues we had was the location, traveling at night it is very hard to find the property and once you enter through the front gate you will be driving on a gravel road that is not easy to drive on going up a hill, and we even passed the house not being able to see the house number because it was sitting so low in the ground. Overall very beautiful place, no maintenance issues.

Just what we needed
We came to Lake Lure in order to have a base for checking out the surrounding areas. We were not disappointed. Although the house is a little hard to get to (the roads are twisty and turning and we couldn’t take a left-hand turn into the driveway with our truck), it was located in a nice spot. We enjoyed having long lingering talks on the deck, making wonderful meals in the kitchen, watching movies, and laughing. I will say that there should be some information in the house on how to use the remote controls. I could find nothing and I even called the real estate agent, but they were not much help with that. Mr. Lake Lure however was very helpful with everything else. I would recommend this house for sure!

First Trip Experience
As an owner of a cleaning business, we know how important reviews and complaints are, we notified the manager of the rental company that there were cockroaches in the kitchen, the floors in the kitchen were dirty, and they needed to refinish the wood floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. Around the washing machine there was a lot of dust and lint from the dryer. The curtain in the first-floor bathroom smelt weird and then the blinds in the upstairs bathroom were broken. At 4:10 the manager had called us to let us know that there was no propane and we wouldn't be able to use the fireplace that night, they had told us someone would come fill up the tank the next day, but they never left us know if someone did come by that day because we were not there. The check-in was a mess, we came from Florida and drove 10 hours to get there, when we got there it was pitch black, there was no one at the gate to answer in case someone couldn't get in, we couldn't get in with the code we were given until this nice lady who happened to be a friend of the manager let us in because she saw us struggling, after that we had trouble finding the house because the number was not visible and it's broken and on the floor. The house is beautiful, and the view is amazing, but it was our first trip to North Carolina and our welcoming was not a great experience. We definitely want to go back but without these inconveniences if not then we will have to find a different company to rent from.

We host 4,000 reservations per year for 70 homes. A couple of times a year, we receive a retaliatory review that simply isn't true. Potential Guests can read our past reviews to see the items listed here are not something any Guest has experienced in the past. I will address each of Karla's concerns below: You sent a photo of ONE cicada inset to our staff. We advised it was not a roach, but rather a cicada ... a very common outdoor insect in Western North Carolina. In fact, this home is on monthly pest control. Had you told us you felt the floor in the kitchen needed a touch up or there was lint in the laundry room, we would have immediately dispatched housekeeping. You did not notify us. Propane was indeed delivered, and we even sent a staff member to assist with lighting the fireplace for you. It was unfortunate the propane ran out during your stay, as the gas vendor did not deliver during Hurricane Helene. As soon as you notified us, gas was delivered the very next morning. When you had difficulty at the security gate, you called the office and I personally walked you thru the instructions we emailed you. Apparently you misread the instructions and were attempting to use the house door code at the gate, and not the gate code listed on the instructions. Yes, it is indeed "pitch black" at night as there are no street lights in Lake Lure. The check-in instructions we sent you advise you of this in advance. Future guests will see thru your retaliatory review.

Not as expected
This home just needed a thorough. There was dust on end tables, lighting, tvs, furniture etc. Very noticeable cob webs, roaches crawling on the counter tops (I have pictures) and running behind electrical outlets, in the kitchen area. Windows were so dirty that you could not enjoy the view of the lake etc. While getting out of the hot tub, a mouse ran across in front of me. Most of all the day before we left we noticed mold that was growing on the rafters, to which I have pics and videos. I am highly allergic to mold. I kept wondering why I was having to use my inhaler so much and coughing until I was choking. Especially in the morning. I’m assuming it was from breathing in mold all night. I ended up with bronchitis after coming home from there. The whole place smelled musty and moldy. Luckily we brought Lysol and counter top cleaner to spray and clean the areas. The air vents were extremely dirty and we found dried up food under the couches.. I know this is a rental, a cabin in the woods, and you will have bugs, critters, musty smells and even some webs. But it just was not clean. Most of all something needs to be done about getting rid of that mold. If you want your guest to feel comfortable and enjoy their visit to this home, without having to clean it first. Then hire a 5 star cleaning company, pest control company and most of all a mold removal Specialist. With this being said, I’m sure the home at one time was clean and beautiful. It just needs some TLC.
