Country retreat in Kempner, Texas. 200 acres of beautiful countryside nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Secluded cattle ranch off main county road with a three bedroom home surrounded by a wet weather creek, pecan and oak trees and a plentiful native grass landscape. Observe and photograph plentiful wildlife such as deer, turkeys or an occasional wild hog while hiking amongst the creeks and draws or native pasture lands. Enjoy the serenity of the country life coupled with majestic views of morning sun risings while enjoying your coffee and country breakfast, falling sun sets and shining moon light stars while relaxing to a sizzling camp fire after enjoying BBQ. Great way to get away from the city hustle and bustle to bond and relax with family and friends.

Outdoor Relaxation and Quiet

If you want peace and quiet from the city, this is the place to be. You have a big house all well prepared for you and outdoor grilling ready to use. This place is good for those wanting to see nature also, we saw deer; turkeys; cattle; squirrels; and other little creatures in the wild. The creeks are easy access to walk around the 200 acres of land. Great for outdoors people, who want to explore. If you got a truck or utility vehicle, it would be better to drive around. We took our car which was fine but I would have preferred a truck or utility vehicle.

Ugh

This house looked ideal from the pictures. However, when we arrived the creek was dried up, there were wasps swarming the house (my son was attacked just walking outside), the a/c broke twice (it was 85 degrees) and there were scorpions and spiders everywhere inside the house. This house could be great place with some work. My family was just ultimately disappointed and left a day early because we were all miserable.

Maria and her party arrived to find the event they were planning to attend (Spring Ho) cancelled. It was also the hottest week of the year with daytime temperatures up to 105. I arranged for the AC company to immediately come and check the unit. The unit was thoroughly serviced, checked and verified to be in top working performance. That night they had temps of 72 - cool and comfortable. When I arrived to meet the AC repairman there 6-7 cars with at least 15 people there. They were prepping for a family party. Clearly in violation of our policies for number of guests and events. We clearly state that we have wet weather creeks - with the sweltering July heat and no rain for months the creek beds are currently dry. We always caution about being in the country with wasps, spiders etc. No one has ever been "attacked"! The house is sprayed monthly and is absolutely not filled with spiders and scorpions. Maria had a house full of teenagers and locals that were bored due to the cancellation of the carnivals, street dances etc. Rather than say something negative about her I chose to not review her... other owners beware. Check out my reviews for the past two years on other sites and the guests that stayed after. We are very sorry Maria's stay was not satisfactory and wish her the best.

Visiting military family that lives in Lampasses

The house was completely equipped with EVERYTHING that we needed. The beds slept well and were clean. Plenty of towels and necessary items were provided. The property is very secluded which we loved.

Amazing Country Escape

This place was perfect for our family to get away and experience country living. We explored the beautiful property, played in the creek and spent hours sitting on the back porch. The beds were perfect, lots of towels and linens, basic necessities in kitchen. Tina is a wonderful host that communicates quickly. We hope to stay again someday.

Come for the cows!

We had a great time at this cattle ranch, the kids especially. They were eager to go outdoors and explore the loop up on the ridge and see how the herd would move from field to field. The house was plenty big enough for the six of us, and we sure enjoyed the quietness at night. The hosts were easy to communicate with, and even returned a forgotten item by one of our kids - and they denied payment for the shipping. For the next family event in Lampasas and we will return here.

Peaceful Property

The property was peaceful and exactly as described. We enjoyed watching the stars at night by the fire. The house was big enough for me and my three grown sons. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We had several questions prior to our visit and the owner responded quickly. There were no issues during our visit and we really enjoyed our visit.
