Vacation in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

You cannot go wrong with Casuarina Beach has everything you would hope for and more! Photos cannot capture the atmosphere of this home, its expansive manicured grounds and the perfect beach. Our group loved this place and had an excellent week!

Each bedroom is enormous and beautifully appointed and they all have delightful private baths. The group living spaces are gorgeous, bright and have plenty of room for indoor fun with family and friends. The beautiful gourmet kitchen is brand new and has a very spacious dining area with a great table for large gatherings. After full days of pool and beach activity we ate in an awful lot and got great use of the kitchen.

Moving outside, what can I say but Nirvana! From the enormous patio right off the kitchen with an awesome grill and breathtaking views, to the extremely comfortable under patio loggia (my perfect nap location), to the refreshing large pool and the heavenly beach, outdoor space and activity abound.

Casuarina Beach House has the best beach on which I have ever vacationed! Our group could not get enough of it. The water is crystal clear and as calm as a lake, the sand is as soft as powder and this place has every beach toy you could want…sea kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and much more.

We all had an excellent time and we will definitely return, soon I hope!

Casuarina has it all...and then some!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from one week at the Casuarina Beach House and I have to say it was everything I expected and then some! This is the 4th time I research/find/book a house in the Caribbean for our group of 11-17 friends and family (depending on the year) and this house was a huge hit! It was more beautiful than the pictures and had everything you may want and need. This year, we were a group of 13 (10 adults, 3 kids) ranging in ages 5 to 73 and there was something for everyone! The entire lot is glorious - beautifully manicured and well-maintained, on a beautiful beach that feels like a private get-away (we saw maybe 5 people walking the beach the entire week we were there), outdoor showers, kayaks, bikes, 2 grills, two hammocks, equipment for snorkeling, and enough spaces to be together as a group OR to have quiet time on your own...

And Matthew, who serves as caretaker/house manager along with his wife Barbara, was stellar and helped whenever we needed it. Prior to arriving at the house Elaine provided information on golf cart booking, references for boat rentals and chef, as well as an overview of Abaco, Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay - which was incredibly helpful. I went with all her recommendations and for the most part they worked out...with two exceptions.

I booked Chef Rolle for 4 dinners and I tripled confirmed the price beforehand via email. When we got there, the price I was quoted was 'incorrect' and it went up by 4X! We paid $500 for 1 night for chicken, steamed vegetables and rice...he didn't even provide dessert! It was frustrating but we made the best of it. We decided to have him for the one night only and cancel the others.

The other booking that went awry was with Captain Mark. I had been communicating with him via email since February and had (I thought) confirmed at least 3X, including the Thursday before we arrived (on Sat!!!). I emailed the captain on Sunday nite with a few questions and expected to hear back from him by the next day but didn't. I finally called him in the afternoon and he claimed to have gotten another job because I hadn't reached out. It was incredibly frustrating because I thought the prior 5 emails had served as confirmations. Anyway - Matthew came to the rescue and saved the day... He was able to book another boat for almost the same tour! It was amazing and I was incredibly grateful.

Overall our time at Casuarina Beach House was amazing...we all would go back in a heart beat!

Gorgeous and Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We just wrapped up a one week stay at the Casuarina Beach House and can't say enough wonderful things about it!

First, Elaine and Michael were just wonderful to work with. They arranged for everything we needed - and Elaine was kind enough to do a bit of shopping ahead of time for us because we were arriving on Easter and the grocery store would be closed. They also arranged for the golf cart we needed for the week and it was waiting for us once we got to the house. To top it off - they put us in contact with Freeland, the kind driver/chef who picked us up from the airport and took us to the house!

The house was perfect - and everything is just as it is described. The views from almost every room were spectacular. The bathrooms are convenient and are en-suite except for one, which didn't pose a problem for our family of 5.

The kitchen is well-appointed. Everything you could possibly need to cook, bake, and grill is ready for use. We even found a juicer under one of the cabinets! There is a reasonable spice selection available as well. There are enough plates, cups, bowls, glasses, mugs, and wine glasses for 20+! There is also a large selection of beach-friendly plastic cups and such for when you want to bring your drinks down to the water. (Yes, there's a blender as well!)

The beach is just gorgeous. There are 4 kayaks and paddles available for use. There are a bunch of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach. The lounge chairs were plastic and a bit hard for lounging, but we borrowed the padded cushions from the lounge chairs around the pool and then just moved them back to the pool when we were done with them each day - no big deal at all.

The pool was great - a nice change of pace for the kids to switch it up between the sea and the pool. There are more pool toys available than one could possibly use at once, but it was great for the kids to have a selection. There's also a small bathroom out by the beach/pool so you don't have to traipse back into the house with the little ones. It was great.

Michael and Elaine recommended we contact Captain Mark Carroll for our snorkeling trip and they were spot on with the recommendation! He was fantastic and knew all of the good spots to take our family. The adventure included seeing an island full of wild pigs, snorkeling, shelling, lunch at a beautiful marina, and swimming/feeding the sting rays. It was a beautiful day!

Amazing vacation! You won't be disappointed!

This house and property are beyond what you see in the pictures. The owners go above and beyond for you before you get there, while you are there (only if you reach out to them, otherwise you would not know they are close by). The upstairs kitchen has everything you need and more. There is another small kitchen down that is also very useful. The bedrooms are beyond spacious and once you are in a bedroom, you really cannot hear noise in other parts of the house. There is plenty of table space inside and outside for large gatherings. We had 11 people (2 of them kids) and you never felt on top of each other. It is like your own personal hotel honestly. You can be in the house upstairs or down. You can be in a reading chair in your bedroom; you can be on the upstairs deck or below in the covered patio. Or you could be pool side or in the shade of the cabana/bar beside the ocean. Then you have two hammocks to relax in and be alone. Then the beach! The beach is perfection with soft white sand, crystal clear water with a view of the entire cove and nearby islands. The sunrise is amazing!

There are 4 kayaks for use, wide selection of toys for kids to play with in the pool and beach. I highly recommend to kayak north past the point, and there is another private beach there as well.

You could go on and on about this property and the owners and never run out of things to say. You will not be disappointed with this house.

This was our first trip and stay at Treasure Cay, and we will be back and it will be at this property.

Many of us in our group use VRBO for travel (domestic and international) and we all agreed this was the best experience any of have had.

Simply amazing!

Pictures do not do justice!

As beautiful as this property shows in the photographs, it is even more spectacular in person! Elaine and Michael are fantastic hosts and are always available when you need them. This place is heaven for those looking for a relaxing, pool and beach related vacation. We chartered a boat for snorkeling and island hopping one day, and Captain Mark Carroll was great at finding the perfect spots, and we even got to feed wild pigs! But right off the beach in the back yard, the kayaking is great and the snorkeling near the rock reef was surprisingly good.

We also had Freeland Rolle (at Elaine's suggestion) make us a wonderful dinner on the night we arrived...crab meat wrapped in chicken breast with a Jamaican Jerk cream sauce that was simply delicious. If we had an opportunity to do it again, we would have skipped pizza night at Tipsy's and had Freeland make us another nice dinner.

I would suggest you bring an iPod with your favorite beach tunes to listen to by the pool and in the are going to love it here. We really are hoping to come back soon.

Casaurina Beach House is everything advertised and more. Our extended family of six (all adults) had plenty of room to spread out (with privacy) when necessary and plenty of room to gather as a group for dinner or movie/game-nights in the evenings. The pool (with all its loungers, chairs and umbrellas) was large, clean and a nice change of pace from the beautiful beach and gin-clear waters of the Sea of Abaco (all just a few steps away). The hammock was a hit, as was the gazebo (great place for picnic lunch or to read a book out of the sun), the kayaks and the big-screen TV with surround-sound-stereo. It is true that the pictures do not really do the beauty of the house or the grounds justice; it is very much like having your own private resort with all the amenities. The home is top notch throughout with beautiful views of the beach and the water, large bedrooms and large and convenient bathrooms. The kitchen is very well stocked and the entire place is impeccably clean. Michael and Elaine were gracious and helpful hosts (but not intrusive in any way). We have stayed at several places on this island (and on many others in the Caribbean), and the unanimous verdict was that this is by far and away our favorite. We will be back!
