The property was perfect for our large group to visit State College. We enjoyed the pool and outside spaces, the property is located within a neighborhood, but has a very private backyard. The house is quite large and it was great to spread out and relax.The listing mentioned a microwave, but one was not provided to make preparing meals a little more convenient for our large group. There is an ample supply of towels (bath towels and beach towels) which was super helpful. I wish more hand towels and dish towels would have been provided. Perhaps these are some items that could be added to the supply closet. Lisa was easy to work with and communicated via the app. Overall, it was a great stay!

Great space, location not perfect

Property was great and slept everyone. Only issues were (1) the showers had no water pressure, they leaked out a tiny bit of water very hard to shower, (2) if you are coming for a fun football weekend, the neighbors here do not like you to be hanging out in the backyard. Beds were comfy and kitchen was updated, would recommend if you can keep it inside!

Renters beware

Our first impression upon pulling up the driveway was curiosity...did we have the right address? Far from the pristine, stately home pictured in VRBO, stood a rundown property that needed lots of TLC. The roof was moss-covered, covered with sticks and debris, and the rusty rain gutters filled to the brim with leaves. The planters that once held summer flowers were left looking forelorn and wilted. The house needed anew paint job.(Maybe its me, but if I were renting out a home I would try to make it visually appealing starting with the exterior.) It gets worse from there. As soon as we opened the door, we were met with an overwhelming musty smell. The house is arranged in 2 levels...upstairs and bottom. The bottom level that boasted a fabulous rec room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath were freezing...it was Thanksgiving weekend. We located the thermostats but to our dismay, they were under locked boxes. That took awhile to resolve but rec room, hallway, and bathroom never did get heat. The first night it rained and the entire rec room flooded. We spent our Thanksgiving morning wiping up the floor with beach towels. The water from the rain was coming up the floor boards!! Residual water was there the 2nd day too. The half bath had human feces on the toilet and floor. There was a large blood stain on the mattress pad of one of the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen lacked basic supplies and what was there was thrift store quality. To top it off the host is condescending and rude!!!

Great place for a family reunion!

Our family visited Bellefonte to attend a wedding. The house suited our needs. We had enough bedrooms for our group of 10 adults, including my 83 year old mother-in-law. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. The balcony and view over the pool was great, especially coupled with the colorful autumn landscape. We'd definitely stay again and we recommend to others. Great Home!

This house was perfect for our family of 13 during a football weekend. Having bedrooms on the main living level was crucial for us as we had older relatives who could not navigate steps. The kitchen had everything we needed and outdoor space was nice. The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend this home.

50th birthday party

We rented this house to celebrate a 50th birthday and had friends and family there. The hosue was perfect, everyone kept saying how great it was. The kitchen is very big and great for food prep. Lots of TVs, so were to able to watch our football games without issue. Lisa was very accommodating and super to work with!

Penn State student drop-off

Absolutely a pleasant stay. As hotels price gouge, it led me here. Pet friendly as an added bonus. Very clean space and well kept. Lisa also shared outdoor activities in the area to ensure a positive stay. Property is also conveniently 15 mins away from Penn State. We are looking forward for future stays here during the next 4 years. This host should by now, if not already be close to being "Premier Host" level

Perfectly Pleasant Getaway

My family of six and our two dogs stayed at this property for a long weekend. It is tucked away in a small neighborhood and felt pretty private. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the pool was delightful. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard with lots of room to run around, while we enjoyed the pool and relaxing. Overall a great experience!

Perfect house for our family get-together

This was a central meeting place for several adult cousins/siblings and their children and the house was perfect! We loved the vintage style (with modern features like A/C and Wi-Fi) and the pool/yard/grilling area were perfect for everyone. Large kitchen/breakfast area for adult gathering during a storm with another big room downstairs for the kids to play. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Pleasant Stay in Bellefonte

Lovely house with ample property. Bedrooms were well furnished with beautiful furniture and soft linens. You can tell the owner has taste and style. Kitchen was well equipped for a large family gathering. Bathrooms had charm and character. House layout was perfect for a family gathering while also providing privacy. The pool and patio was lovely with a big back yard. Deck chairs could be updated but did not distract from a great experience. Would highly recommend a stay at this location.

Disappointed

House is clearly actively lived in. Refrigerator filled with food. Cabinets filled with dry goods, open packaging, etc. Coffee maker had not been cleaned in enough time for the full filter basket to become full of mold. Homeowner accused our group of entering the property up to 90 minutes early - untrue. Very unpleasant experience.

Very Relaxing

I'm so glad I found this property. We were looking for a relaxing, pet friendly spot for us to stay close to the Pine Creek Bike Trail. Not too far from Hershey and the Lancaster Amish Community, so if you're looking for a place to relax while visiting either of those, this is your place. More than enough room for our large family. Very quite neighborhood. Close to downtown. Wonderful pool area and back yard for our pooch to romp around and chase squirrels (don't worry, they are too fast for her, she can't possibly catch them). Lisa was very helpful in finding local places to eat and shop. Would definitely book here again!

Home away from home

My family came to stay for a funeral and wanted to stay together. This place was prefect as we sat both inside which was cozy and outside which is beautifully landscaped. Also the proximity to all the places we had to go in Bellefonte and State College was very helpful….plus a grocery store nearby. Highly recommend the stay.

Explosive Host / Misrepresented Property

Paid for 4 nights/stayed 16 hrs. Listing fails to disclose that this home presents like a messy occupant lives here full-time.Choose wisely, we never would’ve rented.MASSIVE amount of personal items, no room for 10 guests’ food/belongings in this inhabited home. Bathrooms: hairy razors and open bottles FILL tub/shower space; open Q-tips, wipes, liquids/creams in all cabinets.Every bedroom/hall closets/drawers: shoved full of unorganized clothes/shoes, papers,toiletries,jewelry,etc.Kitchen:dirty Keurig;fridge door filled with used butter,sauces,oils,creams;freezer piled with items(including half-eaten cake); all cabinets with opened food/medicine.Dirty pool;large hazardous pile of chemicals/dirty toys/hoses/debris. Called Host Lisa,who frantically arrived and SCREAMED at us(6 kids present)for having concerns and for interrupting her swimming/dinner. She shoveled freezer items into a bag, took razors,stormed out. Messaged saying she’d give a $50 refund for the hairy razors(never did)and clean the pool the next day.Ignored other issues.We left at morning light.Lisa later sent pics of: 1. A room corner, accusing us of moving furniture and trying to con us out of $100; 2.Towels on hooks, but alleging towels were left on floor; 3.Bath cabinets, calling them “ransacked”(exactly the way we found them-and every other cabinet upon arrival-and why we sent pics of such to VRBO immediately.) VRBO reviewed and refunded us their profit plus partial refund. Lisa refused to refund her profit.

This is the worst experience I have ever had on VRBO.

Please BEWARE! I have been a member of VRBO since 2016 and never had a bad experience until now. I thought about booking this property to bring in the New Year with my family, my cousin's family, and two other families that are close friends. Upon requesting to book the host strongly reiterated "no parties". We weren't planning to have a party, but it was New Years Eve and we were getting together with friends and family to bring in the New Year. We weren't planning to throw a party but then again I didn't know her definition of a party. I saw in the properties prior reviews that she had problems with her neighbors and that other people had bad experiences. I immediately asked the Host NOT TO ACCEPT MY REQUEST as I was reconsidering the property. I wanted to bring in the New Year on a great note not have problems. I started looking around the VRBO app to cancel my request and the Host accepted my request thereby charging my credit card. My exact words were "I really don't want to take the chance, please deny the reservation". I was flabbergasted. I asked her to cancel and she said she wouldn't cancel because she would get penalized from VRBO for canceling. I couldn't cancel without losing the entire cost of the trip because she has a 60 day cancelation policy, but I still had hope. She had said she wouldn't cancel because she didn't want to get penalized by VRBO, so if I could call VRBO and find a way for her to cancel without penalty then she should do it. I called VRBO, explained my situation, gave the person helping me permission to read out exchanges, and he strongly agreed with me. He found a way for VRBO to allow the cancelation without the host getting penalized based on the chat between the host and I. I was relieved. He called the host, explained to her that he arranged a way that she wouldn't get penalized - and she refused to cancel! After 1.5 hours on the phone the VRBO representative told me in not so many words that even though he completely agreed with me that he could not reverse the reservation. It only gets worse from here. After telling the host how dissatisfied I was and that I only wanted to bring in the New Year on a good note it only got worse. She stated she no longer trusted my group for self check-in and would have to meet us at the house and videotape us checking in. I found that really absurd. I have 6 years of good ratings on VRBO. I'm out of space for the review but the story gets worse
