Mountain Escape

Beautiful property in Pine Mountain club, perfect mountain getaway for large families. There is a general store right around the corner and plenty of outdoor hiking trails. I wish they offered sheet service, I would pay extra instead of having to manage 14 beds and sheets! Overall wonderful experience

Disappointing

We booked this house for a big family trip for Christmas weekend. Got to the house to find dead flies all over the house, dirty sheets, house freezing cold with the heater taking 12 hours to warm up. When called the host to speak about the issues, I was surprised to be receiving attitude from the host and he told me “you don’t like it, you could leave.” Highly disappointed.

Great Family-friendly Mountain Getaway

We were looking for a roomy and comfortable getaway and this home in Pine Mountain Club, CA greatly exceeded our expectations. The spaciousness and grandeur of the house isn’t done justice by photos! The ceilings soar overhead and the top floor is a wonderful place to eat, play, and relax. What we loved: * fun hiking trails in the backyard with tons of fun and cute things to discover left behind by the community. * well-appointed home with spacious living and play area that has plenty of games and fun for all ages from young children all the way to adults. * Great community with plenty of friendly and helpful locals. Nearly everyone we passed by was open and welcoming. * Awesome family-owned general store a very short walk away. Very well stocked for daily grocery runs, including a great selection of beer and wines. Things to consider: * Be aware of the weather in the area, the home has good ventilation and fans, but can get hot during the middle of the day in the peak of summer. * WIFI is not provided. This can be a good thing or bad thing. If you don’t require connectivity and can afford to disconnect, this can be a huge plus. The grandparents were having trouble adjusting to life without their iPads, but our kids found plenty to keep themselves busy. * This rental requires you to bring your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels. This is more stuff to pack, but it’s nice knowing you are in your own linens especially in this era of virulent pandemics. In sunmary, we discovered a new, quiet place to visiit with family a short distance away from the Los Angeles area. We had a great time, and think most families will too.

Great experience and host!

Communication with the owner was great - he was super thorough and responsive in answering questions before the trip. He met us there with a fire going and the floor heaters on, gave us a tour/instructions, and then left us to ourselves. The house is spacious, warm, and comfortable and it was just a short drive to playing in the snow. We had a great time! Some things a prospective tenants might want to know: - The owners ask that you bring your own bed linens and pack out your own trash, so be sure you plan for that ahead of time. - As captured in the listing, there's no internet. I hear only Verizon gets reception in Pine Mountain Club but we have Verizon with unlimited data and the reception was excellent (90 mbps down), so we had no issues when we wanted access. - The queen beds are comfortable but at least one is... whatever the opposite of "motion isolating" is, so my wife and I woke each other up quite a bit on the first night. The rest of the trip, I slept in a spare bed and we rested much better. - The 1 upstairs bedroom is isolated and insulated from a lot of noise. However, the 4 bedrooms on the bottom floor are fairly close to each other and the noise carries a bit so if you have rambunctious kids, those on the bottom floor might not be sleeping in super late. - The game collection is fantastic! A number of blasts from the past as well some obscure and newer games. Kids and adults alike enjoyed exploring them. - The washer, dryer, and dishwashers were serviceable but aging and could probably use a refresh. The dryer was pretty slow and the dishwashers (which squeaked very loudly when opened) sometimes left food particles/residue on random dinnerware. Overall, it's a lovely home with some wonderful and unique features. You can tell it's cherished place full of memories.

Simply perfect!

The house is great! It is beautiful, cozy and clearly well loved and cared for. It makes you feel at home! We are a group of two families (including 4 adults and 5 little girls). The game room was perfect (and not only for the little ones). We all enjoyed the games! We also had an awesome time cooking big meals all together in the fabulous kitchen. We loved that there was no WiFi... the best way to "disconnect" and enjoy the time with family and friends. Rob was a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful. We are already planning our next stay there. Hopefully we can repeat soon!

Fun & Relaxation in a Beautiful Mountain Home

We enjoyed our stay as two families with both adults & kids. The location & atmosphere were a great place to relax & the kids had plenty of games to keep them occupied. The kitchen very usable with lots of counter space, storage & 2 dishwashers (though it's BYO wine glasses). The bedrooms are all very accommodating & well-set up. Just be prepared to make your own beds upon arrival. The general store was handy, too. I could see the location being even better in the winter, though we enjoyed the peacefulness in the summertime.

Fantastic!

We were a group of 2 adults and 8 kids (girl and boy teenagers). The house was spacious - you never felt like you were on top of each other. The game room was fantastic and kept the kids busy. We brought our own board games but there were plenty already at the house to choose from. Puzzles too! The kitchen provided everything we needed. No need to bring up extra pots, etc. There was plenty of room for sitting and eating. The heated floor kept the house warm. I kept the heat low and we were all fine. Having no wifi was a bonus!! If you really had to connect then you could walk down the hill to the rec center. The location of the house is fabulous! So close to the village and the rec center. You can walk to everything! Access to the trails from behind the house was ideal! The house is definitely best for big groups or you feel too lonely inside (haha!) The owner was super helpful and communicative prior to our arrival. There was no need to communicate while we were there but he left his contact info just in case. Definitely a place to return to!

Fabulous Place

We just got back from a 3 day family New Year's vacation. This place is amazing! It was perfect for our family vacation of 15 people, ranging from 11 to 82 years old. The place is very cozy and warm. Plenty of rooms and beds for any large group. The bathroom configurations also work well for large groups. There is plenty of privacy, as well as large spaces for everyone to congregate. The game room is great! Wonderful to have inside games to play (ping pong, air hockey, foosball). The game room is close enough to so everyone can still be a part of the group, but it is off to the side, so that it doesn't compete with others who want to engage in quieter activities or just visit with each other. Grandparents were able to watch and interact with everyone all on the main level. The kitchen set up and amenities made cooking and cleaning for a group much easier! The two dishwashers and two sinks were so useful. Lots of fridge and freezer space too. We were lucky enough to be there with plenty of snow on the ground. The house has a great area to play directly behind the property, which is visible from the living room windows. It was a great place to play in the snow, sled and go for walks. There are also nice, spacious balconies out of each bedroom and the main living area. The owners have plenty of games and a really nice collection of records in the living room. There is plenty of seating for everyone. The property is conveniently located to the general store and green spaces. You feel like you are in a remote location while just being a short walk to the general store and cafe. The owners are easy to work with. Rob answered all questions very quickly; he is very hospitable and informative. He made us feel at ease and welcome. Everyone had an amazing time and would love to return!

Wonderful and fun home for a group!

We had a very fun long weekend at the Pine Mountain Club home! The host was very welcoming and the home was beautiful! Clean, stocked full of essentials, board games, wood for the fire, and a very fun game room! Our fellow guests were very impressed! We would go back for sure.

Lovely home and a great location

We had a wonderful weekend at this lovely home. Rob was wonderful and met our group to go over the details. We loved that there was no WiFi or cable. We were able to disconnect and just hang out, cook great meals in the large, well stocked kitchen, we played air hockey, foosball and ping pong. We brought a few board games, but they also had a lot as well. The location is perfect / just a 5 minute walk to the Village or a 10 minute walk to the lake. It was the perfect house for our group of 10 and Rob was the perfect host.

Nice property. Large & comfortable. Loved the back deck overlooking the nature. Plenty of space for

We had a great time at this beautiful property. Large & comfortable house. Nice open floor plan. The cabin was clean with enough supplies in the kitchen. This place was overall great, but one minor issue. The property has no wifi, phone service or even a land line. Unless you have Verizon, you have no connection with the world. This could be a major problem in case of an emergency. Luckily, 1 out of 16 of us, had Verizon. Other than this place had enough games and entertainment for the kids. It was nice for them not be on their phones. The owners were very nice and friendly.

Beautiful home, lots of room!

Rob was a great host and VERY accommodating for our group. We had some of our wedding party and guests stay for the weekend, and it was a great fit for us. The house is beautiful, spacious and a place you won't want to leave. The main room and kitchen were very open and spacious which made for a great place to eat, drink and play games. The house is walkable (just a couple blocks) to Pine Mountain Village with a couple cafes, bakery and market.

Pine mountain club

Really great Community.....awesome 9 hole course, fun little village within walking distance and gorgeous views from every ankle of the house. The house had ample room for 9 adults, 3 teenagers, and three little ones...... and the two dish washers were a nice touch as were the two huge sinks in the kitchen. The main fireplace throws off a lot of heat.

Spacious property with a great layout for entertaining. Really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace & deck

I rented the property in order to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday with friends and we had a wonderful time in the home! The layout was great for entertaining - big kitchen, open living room area with plenty of seating, and a fun game room...perfect for a relaxing weekend away! Bathrooms were spacious as well and all the guests commented that they had a hot shower in the a.m.! (There were 12 adults). Also, there are plenty of windows in the home with beautiful views that we all enjoyed! I liked the fact that the property was within walking distance to town. Make sure you bring slippers to wear in the house as owner asks that no shoes be worn inside and the wood trim on the stairs can be a bit slippery in just socks (said my friend who slipped and fell on her bum)! Overall very pleased with the rental. Note: be sure you list the max number of guests you may want to stay in your initial booking request. Overall, a very nice property!

Great view, lots of windows, clean cabin & close to hiking trail

We rented this cabin just to get away. It accommodated our family & friends with room to spare. The cabin is charming with a fantastic deck overlooking the lovely surroundings. The master bedroom gives one the sense of sleeping in a treehouse with big windows. We really loved the location, which is at the beautiful hiking trail. The house feels very private because of the location and although it is extremely convenient to town, it felt more retreat- like than some others that are situated closer to town. We appreciated the well- stocked kitchen. My family all had an amazing time, can't wait for next year!! =) Owners were extremely gracious. Overall a fantastic weekend retreat!
