This is the second time I've stayed in this cabin and it has been great both times. The area is quiet and relaxed, there is a grocery store and a couple of restaurants nearby. The cabin is roomy enough for a large family or group of friends. Will happily recommend!
We were delighted with our first time Home Away rental. This cabin is beautiful inside, and very well furnished -- everything we could ask for and more!!! The owners responded quickly to any questions and were very easy to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a family get-a-way!
Thanksgiving reunion with adult children and grandchildren. Everything we needed to cook our meals and enjoy games and entertainment. Plenty of seating and amenities! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will use this beautiful space again! The owner is very responsive to all communication and very hospitable! Highly recommend.
The property was great for what we needed! We were pleasantly surprised by the extra bunkbed space that wasnt pictured. Loved the kitchen space, counter and cupboard and extended counter space in the laundry. Had a great time!
Overall was very happy with the stay! Great rooms, owner was very easy to work with and very quick to respond. The cabin was great and sleeping arrangements couldn’t have been better. A little dirty as far as cobwebs and outside goes but it’s a cabin and bugs come with the territory of being on a lake. Overall great stay and great owner!
This place is located on a great area on the lake. It is quite, and beautiful. It was hot when we stayed, so would have been nice to have AC. Also wish it had wifi, and could get some local TV channels. Otherwise we had a great time. Will probably be back!

I apologize, that we don't have air conditioning or wifi. It clearly states as such on the listing.
We had a great time staying in this vacation home--clean, neat, WiFi, XX ski trails about 20 minutes away. Great groomed trails! I'd book this place again. A couple of items: it was difficult to find the WiFi password, but the owner responded right away. I would suggest getting new pillows for the bedrooms. Overall, a great place for our purposes! Thank you!

Always comfortable stay
This is our second stay at Coder cabin. Great place and more space then we needed. The beautiful setting was the perfect way to unwind after an emotional first holiday without a loved one. Hope to return during the summer sometime to truly put full offerings to use with beautiful lake. Enjoyed seeing the renovations since our last visit only enhancing this already great place. Only suggestion is maybe a few more sheets like flannel for cooler months.

Some minor fine an easy fix.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have cleared the shower drain and replaced the canoe paddles.
The cabin is in the exact type of place I was looking for, quiet lake location for a mid winter unwind. Great accommodations, my only two comments were that I actually couldn't park in the garage due to other items being in there. This wasn't a huge deal because the weather was ok. The second comment would be the amount of mouse droppings in all of the utensil drawers, also I realize this is a cabin and I throughly washed want I used before and after. All in all it was a great place to unwind.

We are so sorry. We have taken care of the mouse problem.
Great stay on the lake for anyone that enjoys endless swimming and boating! The house itself was comfortable with the kids having the space they need to play and relax. The beach has a sandy bottom that the kids can jump off the dock and swim. Past the dock does have quite a bit of seaweed so not able to enjoy jumping off the raft. When you get deeper, the water is free of weeds and you can enjoy kneeboarding, skiing, and tubing. On Beaver Dam lake itself they have a really nice park that has a large raft and diving board with a big sandy beach for kids to play! Communication was easy and really fast responses! It was a wonderful week on the lake!

Orange sludge and rotten Eggs
house itself wasn't bad rustic in need of updating but the water and conditions of the bathrooms were horrible. Everything stained orange. The smell ,taste and film on the water made it unusable .you could not drink, shower, brush your teeth, cook or wash clothes in this water. The scent so strong it made your eye's water. The sheets, towels smelled of sulfer/ iron/ rotten eggs. Sad nothing mentioned of this problem or pictures of the orange stained bathrooms. I don't know how you are to stay at a property without being able to use the water. Owner knew of issues. He did refund some money but we ended up in a hotel with no place to have family visit like we planned. The issue could be many things. Beware no usable water at this property!

I investigated complaints after this guest checked-out. Water is drinkable, usable, as you can see from our previous reviews, we have had zero complaints regarding the water, bathrooms, and showers. The water is from a well, but is drinkable.
We had an absolute blast on our vacation with our 3 kids and their grandparents. We are from NC but have family in Minneapolis, so this was the perfect way for us to trade our annual beach vacation for a northern vacation on a lake with family. The house is very spacious and we never felt crowded. It is right on the water with two docks. We rented a boat and there was everything supplied in the boat house for us to enjoy tubing on the lake. They have a canoe and paddle boat that our kids loved taking over to the lily pads close by. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook dinner every night after a day on the lake. The lake itself was very quiet and perfect for a family with small children. Spending my summers as a child on lake Minnetonka, I can say the small lake was a nice change with hardly any waves. We had the lake to ourselves most days during the week. It was perfect for tubing with kids. I wish I could post pictures of how beautiful the sunsets were. The water was like glass in the evenings and the orange sunset reflected perfectly on the water.
The only cons were that they no longer have a slide into the water. This was something our kids were SO excited about and disappointed when we got there. We also had issues with out water the whole time. It may have just been a fluke for our visit, but the water was very brown and constantly ran out on us (you couldn't have your kids shower and do the dishes within the same hour. We had kids with soapy hair and no water because it stopped working a couple of times.).
Overall we would absolutely be back. We made some amazing memories :)

Thanks Lindsay! We are glad you had such a great time with your family! We just found out that the water pump needs to be replaced, which will happen this week.
Coder cottage is perfect for the needs of our family when visiting relatives in town. Close to everything and just the right set up for our household. The Wi-Fi was awesome for our teenage boys. Thank you Coder family.
We enjoyed our stay. It's nice to find a place close to our family up north. The cabin had everything we needed. We hope to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake.
I loved the cabin! Some things were a little dirty still but we had all amenities listed on the listing and it was so comfy and cozy! I most definitely plan on coming again :)
Close enough to Rice Lake and Cumberland to get supplies, but far enough from the big cities to still be relaxing. Plenty of beds available for all, and comfortable accommodations. I would absolutely stay here again.
This was the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway to spend some downtime with family and friends with our son who is stationed in NM and back home from a recent deployment. The house was organized and clean. We especially enjoyed the late which was perfect for some boating and fishing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The lake is beautiful. Nice fire pit. Spacious house
