Poor location. Bad neighborhood drunks or high people walking the streets at night. Concerned with going out after dark. One block from hospital with ambulances driving in front of house at all hours. Hot water was limited. No restaurants nearby. The Vrbo description and photos need to be undated. The owner or contact was very pleasant to deal with. We will not use Vrbo again as the descriptions can’t be trusted.
The property was clean and the perfect location for my family. We were in the midst of Junkanoo. The experience was wild. We were walking distance to the cruise port and shopping. wild.
It was well equipped with most amenities of a normal home. The location was downtown walking distance from many comfortable establishments for shopping and eating.

Lester and his family were wonderful guests, whom I’m happy to welcome back!!
and recommend yo any Vrbo hosts.
Thank you Lester for being a great guest!!
Overall the house was better than we expected. It's very spacious. The kitchen could have been a little better equipped with things, like salt; however, it was not a deal breaker.
Would recommend staying here and if I'm back in the Bahamas I'd stay here again :)
The home was very nice and spacious. The host was very good at communicating and assisting with our needs. Thank you again Ms. Yvette. My birthday trip was a success.
Nassau Historic House Perfect for a Family Reunion
Our family of eleven, 2 seniors, 5 adults and 4 children ages 5 to 11 had a wonderful week in Nassau over Christmas, 2023. The house is huge but we used all six bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. We ate mostly at the house using the moderate kitchen and large dining room. We were there during the Junkanoo Parade on the 26th with
upstairs balcony front row seats of the parade and the "rest area" across the street. We also went down a half block to Bay Street to watch the parade approach. The location was great for walking downtown and to various famous sights and to catch our ride to a cruise to Rose Island to see the pigs. While there were between 3 and 6 giant cruise ships in port, the crowds didn't bother us and nights were quiet (except for the parade night) so we all slept well. There is a fenced yard but our kids played mostly inside between our daily trips to various beaches. They even played hide and seek in the many interconnecting rooms. The private parking was great and the locked parking and locked door made us feel safe despite being near town. Yvette was a gracious and very helpful hostess. She explained a lot of local customs and history of the parade. We drove to four beaches and enjoyed the warm turquoise water and sandy beaches. We all hated to leave!

Sarah and her family were one of my absolute favorite families to have hosted. It was a delight, and a pleasure to have them as guests. The entire family were warm and receptive. Great personalities and easy going. They made housekeeping a breeze as they were super tidy and organized. It speaks volume for both the parents and grandparents as the grand children were clearly raised with good manners and respect for others. The house and property was looked after with great care. I would without hesitation recommend Sarah and her entire family to any future VRBO host.
Thank you Sarah and your beautiful family for being wonderful and great guests!!
You are welcome to visit anytime!! Our doors are always open!!
Booked a week before we arrived with 12 people incl 2 kids under 2.
Home is a large, 2 story old Bahamian style house, not luxurious as described but has some charm. Location is in downtown Nassau between Bay St shopping area and Princess Margaret Hospital. Ample private parking in gated area. Keypad at gate and 1 remote provided.
Found house not as thoroughly cleaned as expected, owner did offer housekeeping to come next day but we had already dusted, mopped, wiped down, removed dead insects.
House had a musty smell all week even with ac running 24/7. Windows could not open fro fresh air. The owner was very responsive to some questions and issues we found (eg. unstable wifi after troubleshooting, ceilng leaks after heavy rain, exposed outlet behind microvave in kitchen) and had appropriate maintenance folks check out/repair if able. There were a couple of rooms with "bouncy" wooden floor planks and bathrooms with low water pressure that could not be resolved (owner stated water issue is Water Works dept. responsibility). Kitchen is small but well equipped. Washer/dryer available. 2 bedrooms, 1 on each floor, were ensuite. Another full bathroom on 2nd floor and a half bath on 1st floor was very handy. Front porch was nice to sit out in the evening when sun was setting. Large side yard would have been good for the kids if it were flat and without high grass, brush. The 2nd floor had a pool table which was fun.
Would recommend Lyndhurst House as an option for larger groups.
We booked the downtown Nassau location to celebrate two milestone birthdays for our kids and were joined by friends and family (Totaling 9 guests).
Our host went above and beyond prior to our arrival, from helping us interview private chefs, helping us make reservations at an amazing restaurant (Latitude), to setting up transportation to/from the airport. The day we arrived we wanted to make a grocery run and the on-site caretaker grabbed his keys and said let's go! Due to the size of our party we all couldn't go, but it worked out perfectly allowing the rest of us to scope out the downtown area. The location of the property is located exactly as advertised, close walk to the famous straw market, dining and beaches. Atlantis was a short taxi ride away, water taxi also available near Senor Frogs but their schedule didnt work with ours. The also Famous Fish Fry is a must see, its a bit of a walk, but also short taxi ride (we walked there and took a taxi back).
Overall the house was spacious with various locations for our family to drink their morning coffee, dining room large enough for our family of nine to eat breakfast each morning. Then family rooms on each floor large enough for everyone to come together for a late night movie night. Our host, the on-site caretaker, the maintenance staff and the entire Jamaican community were absolutely amazing.
My family can't thank you enough for opening your beautiful home to us to create lasting lifetime memories.
Yvette was a great host! Communication was excellent throughout our trip. She arranged for our transportation to and from the airport. She was also present to welcome us into the place and give us a tour. The house was perfect for our party of 9. Plenty of space. Location was walking distance to downtown. Would highly recommend for any large party.
