The “Bergen Barracuda” is a cozy family home that showcases the original classic Nags Head Charm. It is the third house in from the beach, just steps away from the ocean- no roads to cross! This home is like no other in the area...two living spaces in a semi-oceanfront property with ocean views in desirable South Nags Head. Perfect for two families, mother/daughter, or vacationing with friends. Each level features two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bath. There are great views of the sand and sea from the over-sized deck as well as the living room. This house has the 4 C’s- Clean, Comfortable, Classic, and Close to the beach! Nothing fancy here- our 1,700 square foot cottage is 50 feet to the beach. Properties with the same square footage in the area are renting for double the rate.

The property is within walking distance to Nags Head Fishing Pier and popular “Fish Head’s Bar & Grill”. Short distance to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, Jockey’s Ridge State Park, and the Wright Brothers National Memorial.

Layout:
Outside: Large grassy yard. Outdoor shower. Parking for two cars (additional parking down the street). Covered porch. Charcoal grill. Fish cleaning table. Outdoor furniture.

First Level- Two bedrooms (each containing a Queen Bed). Full bath with shower and washing machine, living room, and kitchen with a high top table as well as island seating with bar stools.

Second Level- Outside there is an over-sized wrap around deck with ocean views and deck furniture. There is one bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with two twin beds. There is also a full bath with a shower and a washing machine, kitchen and dining area. The living room has spectacular ocean views.

Really needs to be updated but pricing did reflect that. It was clean and very convenient to two piers and Oregon Inlet and shopping. Good for fishing. Can walk out the door to the beach.

Old style Nags Head cottage

We had a great week. The house is well stocked with all the essentials for a week at the beach. The location is great, short walk to the beach. We love South Nags Head. The house is old and the beds are not particularly comfortable. If you want modern amenities, look elsewhere, but for a basic cottage at a reasonable price, this is a great house.

Very nice family home. It was very convenient to have two separate living areas for our family.

There were so many kitchen and household items for us to use. The house didn’t have whole house air conditioning, but the window air conditioners were very effective. The only thing we wished we had was a dryer. I see from previous reviews that will be forthcoming later in the year

Beach great... Location great...House ?

Location and price was great. Being on a private road and having private beach access was spot on. Walking distance to OBX Pier and Fish Heads restaurant was great! The house was questionable. The upper deck was great with beautiful views to beach especially sunrise views. The house is a traditional beach cottage and while we expected it to be on the older side it was a bit too old. If you can’t handle mold you won’t like the house. Unfortunately, the house had horrible odor that was very strong. Upstairs more bearable but downstairs was not good. Also it needs to improve with cleanliness. Come prepared to scrub the house down yourself. Even though we were not happy with the house we loved the location, views and beach. Also the owner very nice and was very responsive when you had a question. Overall, if you can get past the smell And mold you will love it. Can’t beat the location at this rate.

Well that's unfortunate you feel like that because after communicating with you more then 20 time leading up to your visit that you booked for the most popular week in (July) we had answered and accommodated you in every way leading up to your visit. It was only when asked to cancel your visit with in 7 days of your arrival and we require as stated 30 days unless it can be filled. If there were any issues in regards to the cleanliness of the home it would have only taken a phone call for me to summons the cleaning crew back to make sure you were happy. You stated that your other party had cancelled on you and when I denied the cancellation due to the arriving date being to soon , it was only then for the negative remarks. I am available any time to answer any questions and take much pride in making sure my guess are happy.

Priced right

Best one could expect. After a hurricane wished they had a dryer and ice machine but priced right everything you need is a mile away at most
