Stand Alone Cottage On An Oceanfront Property
A beautiful cottage is awaiting you on Grassy Key. Built in the original Keys architecture, the cottage is free standing with windows on all sides. The efficiency holds true to its name as it is small, but very functional. Being a stone's throw away from the ocean you can enjoy partial ocean views from your bed on the west and from your dining table on the east. It offers everything you need for a good night's sleep, a refreshing shower and a good breakfast before you start your day in tropical paradise.
After a day full of adventures don't forget to relax at our oceanfront tiki and hammock. From here there is no telling what wildlife might amaze you. If marveling at the beauty of the ocean from the shore doesn't satisfy your fascination for the ocean, then treat yourself to an outing on one of our kayaks. Head for the nearby rock ruins and be prepared to see many dazzling fish.
...back on shore, it's time to eat and we do not feel like cooking or getting in the car to find a restaurant, not a problem, the Grassy Key Outpost restaurant is next door offering a nice selection of dishes, it is also a convenience store (closed on Mondays).
In our neighborhood, Tursi, Gambit and friends are waiting to put on a show for you at the Dolphin Research Center. Home to Flipper in the 60's, DRC is located 1/4 of a mile from the property.
One mile south of us is Curry Hammock State Park. Ten miles north is Long Key State Park. Both have wonderful ocean access and trails.
Three miles out to sea is marker 45, a nice place to fish mangrove and yellowtail snappers, and a few more miles South is Coffin's Patch Reef, a delightful protected area to dive or snorkel. Both locations are a few minutes away by boat from the property.
These are merely suggestions in addition to all the wonderful things that are yours to discover throughout the Florida Keys.

Great as always!
This was the second time we stayed at this cottage. You can wade into the water and find critters like crabs and comb jellyfish (which don't sting!), or you can fish off of the ledge at high tide and catch snappers and little barracuda (during our first stay I caught a little lemon shark)! Additionally, it's in the middle of the keys, so you can choose to go to Key Largo for dinner, Islamorada for fantastic scuba diving at Key Dives, or the Hemingway House in Key West without spending an entire day on the road. The owners are very friendly and want to make sure you have everything you need; they're very easy to contact for booking and will meet you at check-in to show you around. The cottage is small, but very clean, and we were able to cook a few meals for the two of us on the provided skillet. We highly recommend this cottage, and we hope to return soon!
Although rebounding from the hurricane the property was well cared for.
The cottage was small and comfortable for my wife and I. We had a good time and the location is perfect for both going to key west and key largo. Isabelle and her husband were great host and we had zero problems.
Perfect Spot In Paradise
Despite the shocking results of Irma in Marathon & Big Pine Key, these owners have little by little, risen above the negative effects. They put the renter first & stayed concerned & focused on hospitality. With views of the Atlantic & breezes, this is delightful! Kayaks are available to use, so take the opportunity to enjoy views from the ocean. Kudos to the owners for taking one day at a time to do their best to recover from Irma & still provide a restful vacation!
Clean, quiet, close to nearby activities.
We had an excellent stay, Bill and Isabelle were very gracious, always asking if we needed anything for our stay. I enjoyed getting to know them, and talking about the property and area. We will definitely be back!
Cute, Cozy and Convenient
The cottage is small but functional and very clean. Fridge, hot plate, coffee maker and microwave are sufficient for basic meals, plus there is use of the barbecue grill. A full size washer and dryer are steps away and free for guests' use which was a wonderful convenience. The owners are very nice and helpful and available if you need them, but never intrude if you want privacy. We had a wonderful, relaxing time sitting by the ocean. The location is convenient for day trips around the Keys and close enough to Marathon for shopping, dining and the beaches. We especially enjoyed Sombrero Beach which is only a few minutes drive away. The Middle Keys are still recovering from the hurricane but making great strides to get back to normal. We would definitely come back.
Great little getaway
We had a wonderful time in Marathon last week! This cottage was the perfect space for my husband and I. Had all of the essentials. Very clean and comfortable.
We loved waking up each morning to watch the stunning sunset on the beach.
Isabelle, Bill, and Heather were very friendly and accommodating. They had great suggestions for things to do in the area. The location was great for visiting Marathon as well as the Upper Keys and down to Key West.
We loved having access to the kayaks as well! We paddled out one day and saw rays, pelicans, and even a small shark.
It was very hard to leave our last day and we know that if we return, this will be the first place to check for availability!
