Our stay was pleasant but entry to the property was problematic. There are two potential doors to use, one at the bottom level and one at the top floor, which is the front door. We went up to the front door first but could find no key box. We had to take down the bear wiring to do that, hoping that it was not 'live.' The outdoor stairs getting to the front door need maintenance as they are not safe. We eventually went to the bottom door and found the shutoff for the bear wiring, which was on. We found out that the cleaning staff should have turned it off before our arrival. We eventually found the key box and gained entry. We could find no upfront email instructions for where to enter the house. The connecting staircase between the bottom floor and main floor is quite dark and the one light is insufficient to light it well. We also found the sliding glass door to the deck, which you can access via the front door stairs, was not locked. Things were well cleaned but the existing rugs are fairly old and stained. The first full day the internet was down and our carrier, Verizon, didn't have sufficient bars to call out from the house. As in many Tahoe locations, there was significant house construction noise going on during out stay, 3 places within a block. We enjoyed ready access to the walking path through the woods and having the main living space on the second floor gives great views through the trees. We appreciate that this is a dog-friendly property.

Charming Midcentury Chalet

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is spacious and cozy; you can tell that the owners stay frequently. Big comfortable king size beds for sleeping and reading with your morning coffee. Or, like me I stand in front of the windows watching the sun come up over the trees. And a big plus, cable TV, one hardly sees it and I consider it a big plus to get regional news.

We stayed for about a month and the owners were extremely receptive. The stove malfunctioned, and they drove a new one up within two days. We had a great stay.

Cozy Cabin Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It’s not often that we want to stay somewhere longer than the duration of our planned stay, but staying at Goetzl was so spectacular we easily would have stayed for longer. Everything was exactly as was depicted in the photos; it was essentially a cozy, showroom-esque cabin. It was so peaceful, unbelievably quiet, and the view from the patio was lovely! Everything we needed was provided, and the layout of the rooms and content of the kitchen were well thought out. The firewood was a bit damp, but we bought some duralogs and fire starter, and that did the trick to get everything going! We left one duralog, an extra lighter, and a box of fire starter to help make things easier for anyone staying after us. Highly recommend staying here. We hope to be back soon!

Great Weekend in Tahoma

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at the Goetzl cabin in Tahoma. The location is great! The lot next door is a Tahoe Conservancy lot so the cabin is quiet and private. The kitchen was well stocked and even had sharp knives for cooking! We enjoyed the deck and used the BBQ which was also very clean. We hiked Mt. Tallac while we were there and also went to Meek's Beach which are close to the cabin. Chamber's Landing was about a 20 minute walk which was also nice. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely stay here again!

Great dog friendly retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed this home. The updated kitchen and bbq on the deck were great for summer nights. The house is fully stocked with pretty much everything you would need. Upstairs did get hot during the day but fans and windows helped cool off for sleeping. Would stay here again.

Great location and nice size for our family of 6

We visit Tahoe every year for Christmas and love staying on the Westside. This cabin was in a perfect location backed up against the state park for nice long walks and awesome sledding. As far as the cabin - it was equipped with most everything you would need to cook your own meals and enjoy a warm fire and a cup of cocoa. The beds were super, super comfortable with cozy comforters, blankets and pillows. We were however disappointed that the oven was not working properly and would not heat past 200 degrees. This was a major let down because I couldn't cook our traditional Christmas dinner. Finally, I would ask that the management/housekeeping stay true to their word on paper products - contract says there will be 2 rolls of tp in each bathroom and a roll of paper towels in the kitchen. There was neither and only what was left from the last guests, which was not enough for our family. Maybe housekeeping forgot to stock? Regardless, it was disappointing to have to run back to the market to pick up those items when they should've been stocked. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay!

We are so very sorry for the inconvenience of the oven. I can see how that would be a major issue during your Christmas stay! It has been repaired since then and is working well. We've discussed the issue of paper products with housekeeping as well. In the future, please report any issues to us during your stay right away so we can rectify them right away. We are open every day (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day) and would happily bring you overlooked supplies and take care of anything we can. We would love to welcome you back to this property for another stay in the future at a discounted rate. Please call us when you're ready to come back to Tahoe!
