Only an hour and a half from denver airport, and 40 minutes from Colorado Springs
Only certified service animals allowed. If there is a conflict with our animals or people or animals have an accident in the house you will be asked to leave with no refund.
Additional cleaning fee($320, includes carpet and couch cleaning, but excluding urine/poo stains) so next guest won't have to deal with animal hair, dander, etc. Please beware: we have lamas, chickens, and cats. They should not be let in the house even though they may try. They are sneaky, especially Bruce the back cat. There is no litter box downstairs for them and they are not allowed in the downstairs area you will be staying in and some people are allergic to cats and we try to accommodate them as well.

Great location and a hot tub!

I was looking for a place near my home for friends to stay, and this was a great find! The space is as advertised and the hot tub was a great benefit.

Great time

In town for spartan race weekend. Perfect place to recover after our runs. The place was clean and the hottub was great. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway!

Lovely, comfortable spot

This property was simply lovely. We were able to rest and relax with the movies and games; wifi was fast and responsive; check-in was simple; and the setting was beautiful. I particularly enjoyed looking out over the valley in the mornings and hearing the rooster crow.

Good Horse Show Place to Stay

My daughter and I enjoyed staying here while we attended a Horse Show at Latigo arena. The hosts were very nice and helpful and fun to see the llamas and kitties. We would stay again. Thank you very much.

The Great Colorado Getaway

My friends and I wanted to spend time on the snowy slopes of Colorado for New Years and this gave us the perfect getaway retreat! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to get out into the true American country for any length of time!

Impromptu 25th anniversary trip

At the last minute I decided to book a weekend trip for our 25th anniversary. We live close and needed to stay close. This place was perfect. We were able to ground w nature and relax in the hot tub. Bruce (the black cat) was a pleasant plus in that he came by quite a bit to make sure we were ok. H

Needs work.

Hot tub did not work. Grass needs mowed and area needs weed eated. The staying areas are packed with furniture. Some that is not being used anymore. Spaces are very tight with furniture. Cats are accustomed to coming in on their own. We aren’t cat people and I’m allergic to them. This was not a good first trial run for us.

This was a very pleasant place to rest and get some solitude. Elk herd for watching and a troop of dear walking past at least once a day and I can't forgot to mention the Llamas.The host was responsive and friendly and the accommodations were great. If I ever need a place to get some solitude during the cold months, I would look here first

Did not use the hot tub, chose the property for it's proximity to my Mom. She has Alzheimer and we were in town for the Walk for the Cure. I stayed two nights, my sister one. She was a little freaked out hearing a sliding glass door open at 4:15? or so a.m. Since the access to the basement is a slider, she was convinced someone had entered. I would just warn the upstair neighbor or host, this did detract from the visit and possibly refrain at that early an hour.

Great Location Close to Latigo Event Center

Had a very comfortable stay Bijou Basin! I had a horse clinic at Latigo Event Center so the location was great. I didn't spend a ton of time there since I was coming & going at odd hours to tend to my horse, but the unit has everything you need. And the view is beautiful!

Mountain View Living

When we arrived in the property we were greeted with the most spectacular views. Between the mountains, and the animals it truly was a remarkable start to our trip. The hosts were so kind, they helped my sons and I with the hot tub, getting together some games, and were there for anything we needed. I would absolutely stay there again the next time we come to CO!!

Country Quiet

We enjoyed our stay greatly. It was quiet, peaceful, and had wonderful animals around. We were greeted by beautiful loving kitties and got to see the awesome llamas. The living space was large and had everything we needed. We highly recommend staying here to get away from busy life.

Awesome place!

This place was perfect for a short trip with two children. Peter was so responsive when questions were asked. The basement was so cute and furnished perfectly for what was needed. Will definitely be staying again when we are in the area!

Peaceful and relaxing!

We really enjoyed our stay here, even being snowed in. :) Though we did not get to fully enjoy the scenery and hot tub because of the snowstorm, we did enjoy being away from schedules and watching some of the old movies/TV shows that are on the shelves. Peter and his wife were great with communicating and were very accommodating. Peter made sure to clear the driveway and that roads were cleared for us to leave on our departure. We look forward to staying again!!

Beautiful private place!

I've never seen a backyard as breathtaking as the one here. Its a perfect get away from a busy life! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay relaxing in the hot tub, watching the llamas and chicken, and escaping in a place that feels surreal.

Nice Remote Getaway

This was a great place to stay. The Larsen's made the place very cozy. They have revamped the space since they took the pictures and it looks great. We had access to the hot tub any time we liked, and tons of movies and books (mostly PG). It is not very close to Colorado Springs, but we were able to plan our days and not have to drive too much. The only complaint is that the wifi did not have good signal down in the bijou. I would recommend the owners get a wifi extender.

Fabulous hosts

we had a great time at this home away from home. The place is well kept, the people are very kind, and it was just a beautiful piece if property with a perfect view of the sunrise. Would absolutely recommend to go here. Great price. The only downside for our teen was the cell service was horrible (verizon). But they did have wifi for him to use. So as long as you don't mind giving up a few hours of your calls and bothersome home life, this is a great place to go. We loved it.

Wonderful Getaway

It was a cool experience. No internet - tons of dvds and vhs to watch, books to read and games to play. Hot tub for relaxing and close enough to Colorado Springs to easily access the city. We will be back!

Peaceful, relaxing, amazing views and yet only 15 minutes from civilization. Excellent star gazing. Deer visit regularly and with binoculars you can usually spot local pronghorn across the valley on the undeveloped conservancy. Bring your hammock, and swing between the pine trees we planted 20 years ago.
