About Shane Bocock: Owner / Property Manager
Ever since they were kids, both Shane and Melissa spent a lot of time outdoor in the woods on family camping trips, hiking, canoeing and fishing. It was always their dream to do the same with their kids. In 2006, Shane and Melissa had their first child, a beautiful baby boy. They decided that Shane would quit teaching high school chemistry and stay at home to take care of their son. About the same time, Shane and Melissa purchased a 42 acre plot of land near Warsaw, Ohio. During the next three years, the Bocock Family grew with the addition of two daughters and they spent a lot of time hiking, fishing, picking berries, camping, relaxing and saving money. During this time, they also thought how nice it would be to build a cabin that Shane--while still staying home with the kids--could rent out, allowing others to enjoy the beauty of the property. With the state of the economy, the idea was both exciting and scary. However, in the spring of 2011, Shane and Melissa felt the time was right. They wanted to build something special that would add to the already unique property. The Woodbury Cabin was started in June of 2011 and finished by the end of October the same year. Within days of listing the cabin rental online, calls started coming in. By 2014, with all dates filling up yearly at the Woodbury Cabin, Shane and Melissa decided it was time to add another rental. They came across a farmhouse that bordered the Mohican Forest in early 2015. They immediately fell in love with it, bought it, and turned it into a nightly vacation rental called the Mohican Farmhouse.

What makes this Farmhouse unique
There are so many favorites with the farmhouse, it's hard to decide what to do when you get there. The covered front porch has rockers and a relaxing swing overlooking the pond. The pond always has a gentle breeze that sings as it sneaks through pine trees that nestle it on two sides. The pastures are always green with roaming llamas, sheep, goats and chickens. The screened in porch is a great place to have dinner out in the fresh air overlooking the farm and forest. There is a large comfy leather chair in the master bedroom that is a favorite spot to sit and read one of the many books available at the farmhouse. The gas fireplace is very realistic and there is so much room to spread out on the leather sectional in the living room. The cottage is so cozy, quiet and private with great views of the llamas, pond and forest.

We had a great stay here with family! Our toddler was kept busy with the kittens and box of toys for our whole trip! Perfect place to stay with kids as the animals and outdoor space provide plenty of entertainment and space to run around. A great little getaway.
We loved staying at your Mohican Farmhouse. The screened in porch was a wonderful place for our family to sit and talk. Having breakfast in our PJ's is so much better than separate hotel rooms. Thanks for everything!
Great family vacation!
We rented the house to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. If you are looking for a place that's peaceful, quiet and relaxing, this is the place for you! The house had plenty of space, beautiful grounds and everything we needed. The front and back porches were perfect places for meals, reading, games and naps (note: the back porch can get fairly hot during the day). Even though our kids are older (youngest is 16), the barn animals were a big hit (especially--the 3 cats)! By the time we left, we all wanted to take the little orange kitten home. And the pond proved to be a perfect spot for my dad to do some afternoon fishing (he caught several bass so he was happy).
It's clear that Shane and his whole family enjoy sharing this beautiful house with others. We had only one minor issue and both he (and Uncle Jeff!) responded promptly. They also spent time chatting with us, which we really enjoyed.
Thank you for helping to make this such a great family vacation and birthday celebration for my dad. Hopefully, we will be able to return sometime again in the future!

Wonderful weekend for the family!
We really loved the farmhouse as the description was very accurate. Very clean and well stocked for our mini getaway. The animals, especially the goats were wonderful to watch. New born kittens in the barn were especially fun for the kids. Although we were looking forward to feeding the chickens and llamas those animal could only be viewed from afar. Overall an excellent experience despite a very rainy weekend! Thank You for opening up your home to us.
Beautiful and peaceful location
We had such a wonderful time in this lovely farmhouse and cottage combo! We had every necessary amenity and Shane was helpful and responsive.
A magical place inside and out.
Best vacation I think our daughter ever had. And our dogs! This is a wonderful little - not so little- farm and a beautiful big farm house! For us it was truly a magical place as our daughter with special needs - age 21 - with a syndrome similar to Down’s ( RubinsteinTaybi) , who has a lot of anxiety, OCD and disabilities- mental and physical...shined here. The animals and her bonded instantly. Shane was so kind in showing her how to feed all the animals. I’m making a book for our daughter now of all the pictures I took with her collecting eggs, feeding the goats and llamas ( her favorite) , loving on Gravy the cat and coaxing the bunny to eat some dandelions. It was so amazing to see her relax and excel.
The cottage was adorable and there were so many little nooks and crannies to discovery on the farm and in the house.
Truly a wonderful , magical place.
The optional cottage is an additional $50/night.
