Thanksgiving with the family.

Well, to start everything off we were unable to enter the condo because the owner did not provide the updated code to gain access to the main door of the property. After multiple texts were able to get the code for the other door, which allowed us to enter the main door with the access to the elevator. It wasn't until the next day, Scott, the owner, was able to provide the correct code for access after providing the incorrect one.

The location is great! Easy access to many shops and activities. The parking is very tight and dark, please don't try to park a large SUV, there is no way it would fit. The lighting at night for the parking area and hallway's is non exhistant. So security was a huge concern for us during our stay. I also sent Scott pictures of the lack of lighting, many of the exhisting lights were missing bulbs. The one parking spot that we did have was taken by someone else for a few hours and there was not any other place to park.

The condo needs some work. The TV and cable system were all disconnected, so after a few hours I had it all working. Not something I want to do on my vacation. The couch looks like it has seen better day's, it had multiple holes throughout the cushions and pillows. There was sand all over the floor, so we had to sweep just so we could walk on the floors. The lighting in the condo was poor, there seemed to be no way to turn the lights on over the table which had super loose chairs. I also tightened those, just so they didn't wobble.

The drain in the master bathroom really doesn't drain. So it was very difficult to wash hands and teeth. There are zero blinds on the main windows, so that morning sun is blinding! We actually had to wear sunglasses in the morning. We ran out of soap, so we had to go and purchase hand soap just so we could wash our hands. There is not much room in the condo for storage, so don't think about renting bikes. The kitchen cabinets were way too high, built for a giant, we had to use the step stool to get dishes out.

All in all, would we stay here again, I would say not! The owner was really not much of any help, blamed multiple things on the HOA. The downstairs neighbors were very loud, they had a few parties during our stay and the walls are paper thin.

Next time we will be looking for another place to stay.

Beautiful View and Great Location

We arrived an hour before allowed check in of 4 o clock and was pleased to find the owner Scott was on premise and was gracious to let us check in early. Thank you Scott - you have a fabulous home and we appreciate you sharing it!!

This location is quiet and has a fabulous view! Right on the beach,not ocean side but a cove, accounting for a quieter local. I would describe the home as very, very cozy, maybe shabby sheek or in a positive way - not totally refined??

This property and home is fabulous. We will happily return!

Great location but run down

Its a lovely location. Very close to the beach and right on the bay. The whole place needs an overhaul. Broken fans, outlets with tape, cracked glass on table, dishwasher didnt work, fridge was functioning but not well. kitchen necessities are lacking. The direction of the house and no A/c makes it very warm. There are a few fans in the house but not all functioning....only ough toilet paper in the place for one day. No paper towels. Lots of little things lacking. It is a place with great potential if some attention is given to it. For the price, we will go elsewhere next year

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback. I just did an inspection and went through all the issues to repair or replace. Sometimes things get lost or abused during peak season and it just needs some attention after the season. All is good now. Great Location!

We loved this beach house it was perfect for our larger group and will definitely be coming back to stay! The weather was perfect during our stay and the view of the beach was amazing and just steps from the door! I loved the keyless entry it was nice not having to carry around a room key. One recommendation is getting blinds or some drapes for the living room windows. In the morning/afternoon it gets super bright and slightly warm and would have been nice to be able to close the blinds. Thanks for having us we look forward to coming back!

Great stay!!!

Everything was organized and it made life easy esp when all of us were coming from different areas. The place was clean and nice. All the essentials were there. Location was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Pluses and minuses

Our stay had pluses and minuses. The key was behind a locked door that was not mentioned in the instructions. Multiple calls to the owner went unanswered. The "manager" instructed us to call the owner. After a long wait a neighbor let us in.

The location is beautiful however the condo has a great deal of deferred maintenance issues. Several of the dining chairs are wobbly and unusable. There is a water leak in the kitchen that produces a puddle to clean each day. The dish washer doesn't work.

The listing indicates the property has A/C, it doesn't.

Again, the location is wonderful and the property has great potential but it is very worn with stained and wrinkled carpeting in the hall and bedrooms.

Owner's Response: I do apologize for the inconvenience, I was not able to access VRBO after a server side error occurred and I could not update the information for the entry details. After 5 hours on the phone with VRBO I have resolve and reset the account so this should not be a problem anymore. - Chairs have been repaired (Didn't realize this was an issue, thanks for pointing it out) - There is no water leak, this happens when the freezer door isn't shut all the way - 12500BTU AC is in the closet - Dish washer has been replaced - Carpeting is only a few years old and highest quality commercial carpeting so don't understand the issue here Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy you liked the location. :0)

Why Scott chose Mission Beach

I purchases this vacation rental in South Mission Beach because of location! location! location! South Mission is close to Belmont Park/Wavehouse pool and the most affluent and mature part of Mission Beach. Walking to everything you need is a nice luxury. Mission beach is also the only community in San Diego where the Beach and the Bay are in such close proximity to each other. I chose the 2nd floor of the building so that I would have privacy from the people on the boardwalk but low enough to stay connected to the beach.

I also tricked the Audio/Visual of the rental out so that my tenants have access to NetFlix, Playstation, and Flat-screens in every room. There is also auxiliary jack for music players.

What makes this condo unique

Walking to everything is a very special feature. I like walking over to Canes to grab a margarita and appetizers to watch the sunset, or pull my cayak or sailboat down to the bay for an afternoon sail.
