Summary:
The Saltaire Cottages is a quaint, semi-ocean front property located at milepost 2.5 in Kitty Hawk, NC. This landmark has been welcoming families to the Outer Banks for over 50 years!

There are 1-4 bedroom cottages that each have a full kitchen, family room and screened in balcony. Our private beach access is directly across the street and a beautiful pool with elevated sun decks is on site. Each unit has heat/air, TV's, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig, toaster, pots/pans, dishes and silverware

The Space:
This 2 bed / 2 bath cozy cottage offers all the amenities of a small house in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable.

This cottage has 3 entrances - one to the main living area / kitchen and 1 to each of the 2 master bedrooms. This allows guests staying in each bedroom access to their room from the outside without having to disturb others in the cottage. There is also a ā€œlock-offā€ feature to separate the 2nd bedroom if desired.

While in the cottage, You can enjoy relaxing in your bedroom, the family room or out on the screened in balcony.

Each of the rooms in the cottage is equipped with a flat screen cable tv.

Parking is always free on site for paid guests.

You can walk or bike to many restaurants and attractions. The beach is directly across the street and you can walk on the beach or walk/bike "The Beach Road" to other restaurants and attractions such as Kitty Hawk Pier.

Uber/Taxi services are available.

A stay at unit 8 will require you to climb 20 stairs.

The entire property and cottage are very well kept, nicely updated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean! Great location with private access to beach and spectacular views. Very convenient to the beach & close to some restaurants. A/C very good. Great pool. Screened in porch was nice but needs a fan and the cracks in the table & window ledges were extremely dirty. Also needs cleaning behind the dresser. Was going to use the pull out couch but lifted the pillows & very dirty underneath.

Fine place - no frills

First time to OBX and our family had a great trip. The Saltaire property is dated but clean. Loved our ocean view and it was nice to have the pool for an evening dip. We were able to check in a little early and the umbrella and chairs we rented were waiting for us. Wished they would have had some beach toys or boogie boards - we had to buy everything on-site and left (hopefully for the next guest) since we traveled by plane. We liked Artā€™s Place and had a great dinner down at the Martini Bar. After getting to know the area Kitty Hawk is more run down than others - if we come back weā€™ll opt for Duck or Corolla.

great location! clean!!

the location was great! we could glimpse the ocean from almost every room. the place was clean, i do not think we had any breakdowns while we were there. the staff were very responsive. there were a few items to improve. the bath rooms are small. there is not much to do about that, i guess this helps the other rooms be generously sized. the shower curtains and the shower setup needs some improvements. i think the shower curtains needed to be a little longer because the water kept getting out and we had to use the towels to mop up after. there were several towels provided. there needs to be a hand held shower. with small space and little kids we really needed that. the wifi was a little patchy, not horrible though. a dishwasher might be useful for longer stay or groups. we stayed for a few days and felt it might help. i doubt there is space for it though. it really does feel like there is all that could fit in the kitchen area. the carpets in the outside corridors were a little raggedy but it was getting replaced even while we were staying there so it might already be addressed. the knock is only for the shower setup maybe a 50-100$ worth of investment would really improve the situation! good stuff guys, keep up the good work!

Great location, needs some updates

Overall this was a good place to stay-pretty basic but had everything we needed for short stay. The porch needs some work-the carpet has holes in it and makes the porch look very shabby and the table had coffee spilled on it, etc that clearly hadn't been cleaned by cleaners before we got there. The other issue is that you can't open any windows-they slam shut and don't have screens-had hoped to hear the ocean at night but not an option. The pool area was very nice-lots of seating, tables, etc. There is a great little restaurant next door-Art's Place with great service and good burgers/breakfast.

Excellent stay!

The property was very clean. The easy access to the beach was a big plus. The porch was a bit old and rusty and needed some upgrades, but it didn't prevent us from using it. The property manager was very prompt in responding when we had an issue with the lock. We'll definitely go back and stay there again.

Location was good with easy access to the beach. Bathrooms, Kitchen and living were horrible, filthy and majorly outdated. The outside private porch was not in good condition. Carpet outside was very dirty, filthy and torn.

Great cottage across Street from ocean dunes

The white modern take on a beach cottage did a good job bridging traditional with a clean place to settle down. The beds were comfortable. The floors are easy to clean. Lighting, fans and A/C were great. The kitchen appliances were great. The entire facility had families where we were there. Great pool and decks. The shotgun bedroom behind a bedroom is unique but not a problem. All bedrooms have doors outside which is strangely well suited to the COVId world. Screened porch is huge. Good luck to these renters, look forward to heading back. Hope those rates stay low enough.

Just what you need on a beach getaway...

You feel like you are right at home at the beach as soon as you get out of the car. It was just what we needed, not fancy but clean and spacious for friends to hang out without having to worry too much about anything.
