24 - Funky and charming, 'small house' in West Tremont

'24' is a small house of 600 square feet on the Quietside of Mt Desert Island. There is one 'open concept' living space containing the bedroom, kitchen and living room. The 3-piece bathroom is the only walled area in the house.

24 is located in a desirable neighborhood in West Tremont. We are 5 miles from the center of Southwest Harbor where you will find a market, wine store, shopping and restaurants. The house is 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Park trails are as close as 10 minutes.

Acadia National Park extends to the Quietside with some lovely, less traveled, hikes up the Bernard Mountain.

The house is fully outfitted for two adults. There is a queen bed. The house is heated and has air conditioning. The bathroom is a three piece bath with a shower.

The kitchen has a full-sized stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and electric kettle. A modern retro fridge completes the look.

There is a large deck on the front of the house that has a water view to Duck Cove (see photos for images of the view). Stargazing from the deck can be spectacular using the in-house telescope.

Note: Like all homes in Tremont the house has a well and septic system. Not everyone likes to drink well water so we will provide 2 gallons of fresh spring water for your drinking use. Additional spring water is available in Southwest Harbor.

The house has wireless internet and an internet ready TV. Netflix and Hulu are available. Note there is no cable.

24 now has a full house generator. If the power goes out in Tremont - the generator will kick in after a 90 second delay. This is important as Tremont homes have well water and septic systems - which depend on electricity to work!

There is no washer or dryer - there is a large very clean public laundry in Southwest Harbor.

24 has off-street parking.
24 is not pet friendly.
No smoking is allowed on the property.
No cooking of lobsters in the house.
No frying of food in the house.
