This modern, eco-friendly, green and completely solar-powered cabin overlooks a wooded ridge, pond and spring and is nestled into a beautiful and pristine wooded setting on a large tract of private land in the Ouachita Mountains, near the Ouachita National Forest, approximately 8 miles east of Mena, Arkansas and 8 miles from the popular Ouachita Trail.
Spring Ridge Cabin is an off-grid cabin, which means that it is not connected to the local electrical utility.
We generate clean, non hydrocarbon burning, renewable energy by using the solar power produced from our large solar array and store the electricity we don't use in a large battery storage bank.
It is air-conditioned and fully furnished with fresh bedding, sheets, linens, a tiled bathroom with shower, four sets of towels and wash cloths, a fully furnished kitchen with complimentary coffees and teas, a refrigerator with freezer, gas range and fireplace, and more.
Spring Ridge Cabin has two covered porches - front and back, with plenty of comfortable seating, including a relaxing porch swing.
Located just 8 miles east of Mena on an organic hay farm, the sun provides all of the cabin's electric power with its large 3,725 watt photovoltaic solar array and large battery storage bank.
A visit to Spring Ridge Cabin will provide you with an
eco-adventure unlike any other. And even though the off-grid solar power provides all of the electrical needs of the cabin, Spring Ridge is about much more than green renewable energy.
Our cabin can be a peaceful and very private respite from your busy life, as you'll enjoy tranquility and total privacy on our 100+ acre farm.
Once you enter the farm, there will be no other traffic or visitors to disturb your visit - as there are no public roads crossing the property and only one cabin - Spring Ridge Cabin.
There are several nice walking/hiking and/or mountain biking trails at Spring Ridge Cabin totaling nearly 3 miles; the Pond Trail, the Spring Trail, the Bear's Bathtub Trail and the Old Cabin Trail along the Irons Fork Creek.
Wildlife is abundant out here and you may be pleasantly surprised at what you will discover!
Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the land in total privacy.
Mourning doves will serenade you as you enjoy your morning coffee on the porch and in the evening, hoot owls will remind you that nighttime is soon appproaching.

On the southeast side of the pond, see if you can find the white sand springs that bubble out of the ground among a symphony of various colored mosses and lichens, then walk up the trail and look for the “horse tree”. If you’re lucky, you may find bees at work coming and going from a honey tree.
Several ancient hardwoods and large mature yellow pines stand guard along the fields and in the dense woods and provide excellent housing for the local residents.
Until now, we have used this cabin for a family retreat and have not rented it. We’ve tried to keep this farm as clean and close to nature as possible.
