About Terry Hoff
I have lived on Pedro point for over 30 years and I'm a professional artist, professor and furniture maker. I teach at a SF university and have a local studio. The art in the home is made by my friends and some of the furniture is also made by me, I also built the home in 1992 with two friends of mine, the home was designed by a SF architect. If there is any questions about the home, myself and the art, feel free to ask.
Terry Hoff purchased this House in 1992
Why Terry Hoff chose Pedro Point
Pedro Point is a special spot, located just 20 minutes south of San Francisco yet has a fell of being much further away. The natural beauty of this eclectic community with it's rich history I'm sure you will enjoy and come to love as much as me. All of the homes are different and most are custom built, lots of trees and meandering streets are everywhere to stroll on and take in the beauty of "the Point". There is plenty to be discovered in this special spot.
What makes this House unique
Walking, biking and public transportation are all within a few minutes. Linda Mar Park n Ride is a 10 minute walk and Samtrans 110, 112 and 118 take you directly to Bart. The coastal highway 1 is just down the hill, north to SF and the wine country or south to Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz is all there is you feel like driving. Everything is close yet you seem so far away.

Perfect ocean view
Great place to stay if you want an ocean view in a quiet neighborhood. Unique house with plenty of room both indoors and out. Just be sure you are comfortable driving on steep hills! Very close to Pacifica State Beach, a great surfing spot.
Exactly what we wanted!
Terry's home is wonderful, inviting and impeccably clean. I wanted a place where I could visit with my son, his girlfriend and her mother away from everyone's normal routine. We were all wowed by the home, the views and the location. We cooked, did puzzles, walked on the beach and, generally, hung out together and this was ideal for all of the above. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and, again, the views fabulous. Thanks, Terry!
Beautiful view and house - perfect getaway
This was our first stay here, and we were delighted. It was just what we were looking for -- great views, quiet neighborhood, easy access to local restaurants and shopping -- and did I mention the view?
The house is in a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, yet still close enough to have full access to San Francisco and all it has to offer. The house is very comfortable -- so much so that we had trouble getting motivated to go out! We will be back next year, God willing.
We loved our stay at Pacifica! The location was awesome! It had a terrific view of the ocean with whales we could see out in it. It was very convenient to getting to San Francisco and many other interesting places. The house was beautiful----there were windows everywhere and it had a wonderful open floor plan with modern, unique furnishings. It was very well supplied with everything one could need. Our host, Terry, was so nice and helpful. We would love to go back someday! It was a wonderful experience!
Very lovely! Everything about it was perfect!
Amazing view! Great location also. We had an awesome time.
First disappointment with vrbo
Location is much farther removed from the ocean than the pictures on the website suggest. The place needs major maintenance inside and out. The downstairs bathroom was shockingly bad with paint peeling off the walls, stain ring around the toilet, one towel rack barely clinging to the wall, etc. No lights next to beds in our
downstairs bedroom, one bluish white light in a cheap glass ball on the ceiling, no drawers there, only sheers on one window; the view windows along the entire front of the house were dirty, the main part of the wood floor worn down; the deck has holes from dry rot and a rose bush growing up through the slats; would not stay there ever again. Made us wonder about vrbo's inspection process. The only good things were the heating system and an unusual dining room table. Also the host who lives next door was very nice to our guests.
I'm am so sorry that Helga's was so disappointed with her stay. She is my first negative review of over hundreds of guests from all over the world, I do think that she took the absence of ice trays in the fridge a little too personal, which I addressed immediately, and left them by the front door. A few exaggerations need to be addressed, the house is exactly as depicted in the pictures, the ocean is as close as it seems in the photos, which is just down the hill. Guests have never complained about the proximity to the beach, in fact they love that my place is that close. The downstairs bathroom has some peeling paint, but no ring around the toilet exists and there was a loose towel rack that was fixed promptly.
Also the bedroom she spoke of does have a bedside table with a drawer, the master bedroom has a bedside light which she didn't mention, the downstairs bedrooms don't have bedside lights and I will add those, it has never been mentioned by guests before, so it never occurred to me and I will put ones there immediately. I'm sorry that the sheer curtains bothered her, because there isn't any neighbor's that can look into the one window with the sheer curtain.
I'm so sorry Helga had to exaggerate about the cleanliness of the all of the many windows that give my guests views of the ocean from every room in the house, that's just not the case, as my over one hundred glowing reviews from another vacation home site attest to.
Being a first time Vrbo user, Helga seems to expect hotel like service and amenities, yet enjoy the cost benefits that Vrbo offers for a group of six vacationers.
My place is immaculately clean though it needs some cosmetic repairs. My home is booked up so much it has been difficult to schedule down time to address the remaining maintenance. The downstairs deck, which wraps around the whole downstairs is being repaired in stages and will be completed soon.
The view and home are what my guests love and it's trueness to what is depicted in the photos. I'm so sorry Helga didn't get what she expected.
