Best view on Tortola!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 8 nights in Casa Caribe Sea Level. The property is located ocean front on Apple Bay which was very quiet during our stay. The property manager met us when we arrived even though it was late and was available to us throughout our stay. We only had to call her one time to have the pump for the water reset because it lost it's prime during a power outage. Speaking of the power outage, we were on Tortola during the torrential rain that fell on August 7th and 8th(17 inches!) and had only one very small leak due to the blowing rain.

The property is exactly like you see in the photos. I had to share my own photos with friends and family to assure them there were no filters used. I'd recommend renting a jeep or other 4 wheel drive vehicle as the roads are steep and some of them, like the road to Smuggler's cove, require them. There are several very good restaurants nearby but we especially liked D' Coal pot. We didn't eat there but Sebastians is only a 5 minute walk away. We cooked all of our breakfasts and some of the other meals as the house has all the amenities that you need including a charcoal grill. There is a small convenience store "over d' mountain" for everyday needs and a large Riteway in Roadtown for provisioning. We highly recommend this property and will be back to stay soon. OH...and rent a boat...there's a lot to see in the BVI!

CAsa Caribe Sea Level

Very clean/ comfortable unit. Right on nice uncrowded beach. Very nice patio ! Can fish/ snorkel/ lounge right in front of patio. On a windy evening, the waves make it sound as if you are sitting on the beach even though you are in the bedroom. You will need to walk down a few doors in order to access stairs to the beach. We used a rope to lower our chairs and snorkel gear to the beach instead of carrying them. Condo management (Sharlene) was responsive to any questions we had.

Less than 5 min walk to Sebastion's - one of the better water front restaurants around the island. Also a small shop with staples and beer/ liquor/ wine/ postcards right across from restaurant.

Other than Sebastion's I would plan on taking a cab anywhere else. You could walk to Tropical Fusion (a highly recommended rest/ bar) but it is a long steep hill up and then back down to beach level (then same on return). The road is narrow/ dark and you must watch for traffic.

One can rent a car, but--- narrow/ VERY twisty/ VERY hilly roads with driving on the left. You have to be prepared to pull over to side or even stop quickly as local drivers who know the roads well drive a lot more quickly than you will. If you will be drinking (or?) -- why risk it??!! Especially if you are not used to driving on the left on these type roads. The $300-400 you'll spend on a rental will cover a lot of taxis. We recommend "Dodgy's" taxi (284 545 0336)! Prompt/ reasonable, and a safe driver. We had one driver who provided an 'E' ticket type ride into Road Town one afternoon. Didn't use him again. Dodgy is personable and drives very well and provides some tour/ history info along the way. He was always prompt. Will use him when we return !

Don't miss Bananakeet Restaurant for a sunset dinner ! 5-7 minute taxi ride. Beautiful veranda eating overlooking LIttle Apple Bay and Jost Van Dyke island.

Amazing views, very local feel, awesome owners and onsite manager.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just spend a week at casa caribe and are already planning our return trip. Place was very clean, VERY relaxing, and amazing views. We visited a different beach each day. Trips to virgin gorda and jost van dyke are very easy as well. On site manager was very helpful and stopped to check on us day of arrival. Rent a car via dedes he will drop it off at the ferry dock and pick it up when you leave. Car rental is a must to see the island and its surroundings. Our favorite part every day was sitting on the sea wall on the porch watching the sun go down. Take a cheap pool float and float right in front of the house for even better sun set views. You become one of the locals while you are there as it's not a tourist feel at all. Very relaxing and welcoming. Stop looking and book casa caribe!

Unreal...

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for the perfect vacation! Everyone was so helpful and available! Had solid communication from start to finish. Now about the property. We spent many wonderful sunsets out on the patio on the rockers. I found myself sitting on the wall almost every early mornings and night with feet dangling in utter amazement. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is something that I will miss deeply! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Can't wait till our next trip to the beautiful BVI!

Our 12 days of fun in the sun!

  • 4 of 5

We were there for 12 days...beaches, food, drinks, locals were fantastic! Casa Caribe was very nice but during our time, there was construction going on next door and it was quite noisy at least 6 of the 12 days. We wish we would have known this before booking because sitting/eating outside was not enjoyable....plus no sleeping in even though my husband tried to bribe them with beverages. 😊 Our grilled dinners on the patio were very nice after they were done for the day. The Apple Bay and Carrot Bay locals were very friendly and helpful. The location can be very relaxing and the sunsets are truly wonderful. We left the island feeling quite refreshed.

Side note - my husband contacted the owner with a plumbing issue and was assured it would be taken care of (hopefully for the next vacationers).

P.S. - rent a jeep!
