The Red House is located on the coast road between Los Barriles and Punta Pescadero and was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle in a travel section "Escape to the East Cape of Baja California Sur". The palapa provides a relaxing place to drink your margaritas while enjoying the scenery; the hot tub provides a great place to unwind while gazing at the stars, and the stone walkway from the house provides access to the isolated beach below. The Red House is just what the doctor ordered, if you're looking for a place to spend some quiet time away from tourists and enjoy all the beauty that Mexico has to offer. Although it may seem like you're miles away from civilization, the well-known Punta Pescadero Paradise Hotel is only a short drive down the road. Just a 90-minute drive from Los Cabos airport will bring you to this majestic hideaway.

SPECTACULAR. Wish I was there right now!
THE RED HOUSE in LOS BARRILES is a GEM and I must go back!
First off, this is not a house... it's a secluded compound with picturesque architecture, beautiful artwork, and amazing amenities.
An infinity pool and hot tub, palapa with bbq, sandy beach with private access, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, crystal clear water, sunrise/sunset views that are breath taking, and a 4 person Rhino ideal for quick trips into town. THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL!
The Red House was clean inside and out! Prior to arriving we scheduled with the house manager Jose a fishing trip (the boat picked us up from the private beach and we caught multiple Dorado's that we cooked outside under the palapa), catered lunches and dinners (local authentic food delivered to the house), and the Rhino for easy transportation to town (grab drinks|food with locals at El Gecko Beach Club and El Viejos).
We only stayed for 7 night but easily could of stayed for the entire month!
Private, peaceful, gorgeous home & beach!
What a little taste of paradise! Case rosa is truly gorgeous - a beautiful designed home built on a cliff with incredible ocean views, a soft warm sea breeze and a taste of nature. Dolphins, sea lions, world class fishing, sting rays, crabs, birds, plus sunrises walks along the beach, snorkeling out your front door, kayaking (2 nice boats included in rental), campfires on the beach, and a fun 4-wheeler (aka- Rhino) for commuting into Los Barriles.
We also enjoyed daily homemade margaritas (thanks to my hubbie) by the infinity pool, a private chef offering delicious local cuisine (also prepared the Dorado we caught on our fishing trip - the boat picks you up right out front the house)...a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. We took the kayaks and paddled up the shore to Hotel Pescadores for a few yummy dinners. Just to the north of the hotel is a long sandy beach, and some trails for the Rhino/4-wheeler. We stocked up in town at the local market (about 20 minutes away by the Rhino) - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, lunch foods, snacks, etc. ,and then had Adriana cook for us a few nights. She is wonderful! And Jesus the caretaker was very helpful - he will answer any questions, arrange fishing trips, meals, transportation, etc. The house was very comfortable, clean and decorated with lovely art painted by the owner. The master shower even has a private deck! Our boys, ages 4 and 6 loved swimming in the ocean, building sand castles, climbing alligator rock, and fishing all right in front of the house. Thank you everyone for a heavenly, incredible vacation! Casa Rosa - we will be back.
Second year in a row and coming back. Even better stay as I became more familiar with the area and all this house and beach offers. It's like the kitchen, dining room, living room, pool, and ocean are one big live unit. Ocean was teeming with wildlife. Great meals at Hotel Punta Pescadero and La Hornilla in Cardonal (They also catered unbelievable feast). See you next year!
Love the area. Love the house
The review by the folks who stayed right before us was spot on. Really just the mosquitoes were the wild card. Everything else was almost perfect. Jesus is a great guy. We didn't rent a car though. Arranged for Homar Shuttle service to/from the airport and then used the Rhino at the house to go to town a few times. My wife and I are swimmers and swam at least a mile in front of the house everyday. Also ran on the dirt roads a bunch. We may organize an athlete training camp at the house next time. The hotel 1 mile down the road, Punta Pescadero Paradise is a great place to hang out at as well. Fun bar & staff over there.
Our second time just as perfect as the first!
We returned here in March for spring break after a stunning week in June the year before. Weather was perfect. A bit of wind but nothing to deter swimming and beach play and fishing galore for my hubby just off the rock below the house. The house remains the stunning beauty it is. Jesús is amazing, accessible, super helpful. He had bait ready for my husband and dinner was delivered the night of our arrival in seamless timeliness and delicious. We were eight this time so it was more cozy. I would say six is truly the perfect number to enjoy this space. The kids were in the pool umpteen times a day. The hot tub at night was a special bonus for the adults. Some tips: get groceries aplenty and ice in town so you don’t have to leave the house for provisions. Download movies or entertainment for kids beforehand because internet not too powerful for streaming. We brought wetsuits and booties for swimming at the beach below as well as snorkeling and it helped with the colder water and rocky bottom- you don’t need to lug snorkeling gear like we did. The house has plenty and two kayaks for ready use. We brought binoculars and saw whales, dolphins, rays and sea lions just off our own shore just from the pool. The morning sunrise over the sea of Cortez is worth the 6 am wake up. Mosquitos are intense in the spring/summer. Our kids were eaten alive so be sure to prep or at least close screen-less doors at dusk. Cupboards don’t have much except very old spices and we left olive oil but bring your own cooking provisions and plenty of water as you only have enough to get started. Rosa is a doll. Jesús is a truly reliable and caring host. This place has become our home away from home and a magical memory for our family. Los Barriles is a hidden treasure of Baja, unclear how long it will remain a secret. Come while you can enjoy the serenity! Recommend Cactus rent a car at SJD airport. Very easy to book an affordable car on line and they pick up and take you from airport. Excellent customer service and an easy drive to Rosa House (67 km) from airport to your paradise vacation!
We had a great time at this unique property.
The property manager, Jesus, was very helpful. The beach (and its north end in particular) is possibly the nicest in all Baja. Regular seal’s visit was enchanting. The property substantially met our expectation. However, catering arrived lukewarm (which is sort of understandable given the difficult drive to the property). It would help to give guests precise directions to the property. Only on our penultimate day a local told us how a difficult 9km off road drive from Los Barriles can be shortened to less than 3km. For the price, I would expect a better quality of the bedding and cleaner furniture in the living room. Mosquito nets on beds would also help. Access to the beach may be difficult for less fit folks. Pool deck can be outrightly dangerous when wet.
