I've been visiting the OBX for since childhood (decades ago!), and my connection to the area grew even stronger as several members of my family retired or moved here from NJ. Just as I grew up loving the OBX, so have my children, who are now in high school and college, and still look forward to every trip to Duck! We purchased Casa Azul in the summer of 2015, fulfilling a long held aspiration. That aspiration was not just about owning the house, but was also very much about providing the best vacation experience to our guests. For nearly twenty years (pretty much since the internet was invented!), we’ve been avid users of sites like Homeaway, VRBO, etc., using these platforms to rent vacation homes across the US and around the world. We believe so strongly that the direct connection between guest and host, without an impersonal (and expensive!) intermediary, enhances the travel experience. As hosts, it allows us to break the “rental company mold” a bit by providing extra touches that we hope you’ll enjoy – higher quality linens, essential supplies for the week, superior cleaning practices, etc. My local connections have enabled me to partner with the BEST professional cleaners on the beach (shout out to Stephanie!) who are as committed to your well-being and enjoyment as we are.

Why Lynn M. chose Duck
Over the years we have rented in almost every neighborhood in Duck, so when the time came to fulfill our dream of owning a home here, we knew which neighborhood was best: Four Seasons. If you’ve never stayed in Four Seasons, let me explain. First, all of the houses in Four Seasons are gorgeous, as are the community areas and buildings. There’s an almost magical quality to it…sort of like Disney, but it’s real. The community center, playground, beachside pool, tennis courts, streets and even sidewalks are super clean and beautifully maintained. It’s a (subtly, not obnoxiously…) gated community, with lush foliage, gentle hills, and curved streets, plus private pathways for biking, walking, strolling to the beach or to town. A real “plus” is the location…it is on the southern side of Duck, just 5 miles from the turnoff by the bridge, which can save you HOURS of traffic on a busy turnover day in the summer. We chose this house in particular for reasons that are rational, and maybe not so rational! First, Casa Azul’s location within Four Seasons is ideal. It’s tucked away in a particularly peaceful, pretty street. It backs up to the very pretty northern pathway which leads to the beach, community “beachside” pool and playground in one direction, and the community center (indoor pool, fitness rooms, basketball, etc.), sound access and prime restaurants, shops and spas in the other direction. The layout of the house was perfect with large rooms and a very spacious, open feel on all levels. Plus the house and pool area are so bright and sunny, yet very private with lush trees and landscaping in front and along the sides. OK, so for the not-so-rational (!): I think the real reason we chose this house was because of the absolutely spectacular live oak trees, especially the ones that frame the rear yard! You'd never believe how buried they were in overgrowth, but we cleared it out, and now guests like you can sit in their shade, enjoying a cool drink and a good book!
What makes this House unique
Casa Azul has so much to offer, so I’ll try to list some highlights. • Guests tell me that one of the best features of Casa Azul is that virtually every supply and amenity is provided! SO YOU CAN PACK LIGHT AND SAVE TIME AND MONEY WHILE ON VACATION! :) All linens, including high-quality sheets, bath linens, kitchen linens, even great beach towels! Bath supplies including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion ample supplies of TP!; Dish, dishwasher and laundry soap; paper products like paper towels plates, napkins; and COFFEE -- k cups and ground, plus tea, sweetener, etc.! . The house is located in south side of Duck, which saves lots of time stuck in traffic to the northern beaches! If you’ve been here on a weekend in the summer, you know what I’m talking about! ☺ • Four Seasons is the absolute best neighborhood on the OBX. This is not “salesmanship”, it’s the truth! The quality of the homes and amenities, the quiet peaceful neighborhood, and the level of service are all unbeatable. • The house itself is bright, beautiful and clean. We’ve been working for months to renovate including new wood floors, all new stainless appliances, new furniture, new paint…. ☺ • The yard is just wonderful, with beautiful trees that ensure there's always a cool shady spot!
