Excellent Villa - Great Location - fab Holiday - Love Dalyan
Recently returned home from another wonderful holiday in Dalyan.
We had a fabulous time staying at the excellent Villa Baykus.
Nice quiet and peaceful location , beautiful mountain views, the villa had every thing we needed for a perfect holiday.
Only a ten minute walk into town or a little longer if you take the riverside path - which is well worth the extra few minutes..!
We very soon felt at home in the lovely villa.
All my dealings and communication with Rod (owner) from pre booking to post holiday have been excellent and nothing is too much trouble.
We were well looked after by the management company Kaunos..! Villa is kept clean and pool man arrives daily and early enough to have done his work before your ready to hit the sun beds..! :-)
We would definitely rent this villa again ..!
We really did not want to come home.. :-(
You are such lucky people owning this place..! We are well jealous..!
But Thank you Rod and Hilary - our stay was wonderful..!
This is a most beautiful area of Turkey with an awe inspiring coastline. The small town of Dalyan has a wonderful location on a river which connects a large inland lake to the Mediterranean Sea. Iztuzu Beach has just been voted the sixth best beach in the world and offers 5km of white sand and very safe swimming and no crowds. This is a conservation area so there are no beach front developments. The beach is reached by boat or dolmus. The boat winds its way through the reed beds.
Dalyan is only 25 min from Dalaman International airport. Transfers can be arranged and cost approximately £60 return for up to 4 people. Once in Dalyan a car is not necessary as everything is close at hand. If transport is needed the local dolmus minibuses are very cheap and very reliable. For the energetic there are 4 very good mountain bikes in the villa for guests to use. Additional bikes can be hired very cheaply. Cycling in Dalyan is very easy as it is flat around the town.
10 min from Dalyan. 20 min from Award winning beach by water taxi. 15 min from Ancient city of Caunos. 10 min from from river/ lake/ mountains. 60 min fro Fethiye. The nearset shop for supplies is about 500 metres away. The main supermarkets are in the town.
The ancient city of Caunos (3,000 yrs BC) is a 15 minute walk away from Dalyan.Cross the river on a small rowing boat and you are on your way. There are many excellent river-side restaurants with views of the famous Lycian rock tombs, a wonderful setting for an evening meal. This is a truly magnificent sight. There are many more activities for the more energetic, activities such as walking, cycling, white water rafting, canoeing, scuba diving, horse riding. A journey to the lake with the local boatmen, a swim to cool off or a trip to the hot springs and mud baths. (Sting, Dustin Hoffman and David Bellamy have enjoyed this muddy experience). The Beach has recently been judged to be one of the top ten beaches of the world. Iztuzu Beach, 5km of golden sand, fresh water swimming or salt water swimming You Choose! The return boat journey to the beach costs 5ytl (about £2) and meanders through the beautiful reed beds. Kingfishers, white egrets, marsh harriers and storks can often be seen. It is also not unusual to see turtles in the river.
About Rod Coy
We are Rod and Hilary Coy. Rod is a retired headteacher and Hilary is a retired primary school teacher. We are both in our 60's and have two sons in their 30's, married, both living away from home. We live in the Lake District. We fell in love with Dalyan some years ago and still today enjoy the friendliness and generosity of the people, the beauty of the area and the tranquility of this lovely town. While there we enjoy cycling and walking as well as dining out in the many restaurants.
Rod Coy purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Rod Coy chose Dalyan
Hilary and I first visited Turkey and Dalyan in 2004. We immediately fell in love with Dalyan and the Turkish people. The town has retained its charm with the restriction on building height and size. It is a quiet place without clubs and discos. The area has everything. Outstanding scenery, a host of physical activities to enjoy, delightful restaurants and a protected beach voted one of the 10 best beaches in the world. Dalyan is located only 25 minutes from Dalaman Airport so makes getting there very easy after a long flight.
What makes this Villa unique
Villa Baykus is located on the edge of the town with panoramic views on all sides. It is in a very quiet and private location. The walk to town takes about 10 minutes on level ground. There are 5 good quality mountain bikes for guests to use. The flat terrain around the town makes bike riding very pleasant. The villa is very well equipped with all you could need for your stay. The pool area is surrounded by a mature garden with a traditional Turkish Kosk. (Shaded Cushioned seating area). Once we have flight details we can very easily and competitively organise private transfers for guests. We have wonderful agents in Dalyan that take exceptional care of our clients.
