Lovely family villa
The villa matched the description given. The bedrooms were large enough and comfortable enough for us (4 adults & 5 children) and the 3 bathrooms made life easier.
We loved the pool - big enough for 9 of us, the steps were great for sitting in the water to cool down. There were plenty of sun loungers for everyone and lots of space for us to eat outside.
We also appreciated being within walking distance of Arenal beach (although we preferred taxis to get home at night).
Dawn, Phil & their boys are lovely and we especially appreciated their help when one of our children needed to see a doctor.
Lovely comfortable villa with everything we needed
We had a lovely welcome from Dawn and Phil when we arrived at the property which was really nice. They showed us where we needed to go for the beach and restaurants which was extremely helpful. The Villa was really nice and spacious (we were a family of 6 adults and 4 children) with everything we needed. Pool area was really nice with a great gazebo area where we could hide from the sun for a little while if needed.
Location is only 20 minutes walk to beach and shops and restaurants and easy to get cabs back from the taxi rank.
I would definitely recommend this villa and if I have a large family group looking to go away again I will suggest coming back.
Thank you both for your warm welcome and help throughout our stay.
Our 3rd time staying in javea but our first at this villa. Very spacious, air con in every bedroom, everything provided that you would have at home and more!. Highly recommended and the owners were lovely, many thanks Steve, Denise and family
Our 3rd year staying in javea but our first at this villa. Everything supplied that you would have at home and more besides. Lovely having aircon in all bedrooms, lots of space and a great pool to cool off in.
The owners were lovely and helpful. We highly recommend staying here. Many thanks Steve, Denise and family.
Great Family Villa...
Our third time to the area in 3 years and each year has been better that the last.. the area is great for a family holiday and this villa was perfect for our needs. We were 4 adults and 2 children under 3. The pool and outside area are excellent and the villa is well equipped for your needs. Dawn and Phil made renting their villa very easy and were very helpful both before and during our stay. We will no doubt return to the area again and will certainly check if the villa is available..
A Great Family Destination
We had a great 2 weeks stay here at Casa Carlos this summer August 2017. As soon as you walk through the gate you feel at home. The courtyard and pool were very welcoming. Our hosts, who were lovely, lived close, but unless you needed them were not seen, leaving you to your own devices.
The villa itself was very well appointed. The kitchen had all the equipment you could possibly have needed. The bedrooms were large, well decorated but not fussy and plenty of space for the eight of us. The air con was very efficient and only needed to be on for a short time to sort the rooms out. Bathrooms all functioned well and there was plenty of hot water for all of us. There was space to accommodate more people, although we didn’t need it. We didn’t use the dining room or living room preferring to spend our time outside.
The local beach and restaurants were a ten to fifteen-minute walk from the villa, either down an occasionally busy road or you could take a quieter route which took a little longer. The beach was busy, but lovely and sandy and the sea clear and warm. There was plenty of choice for eating and we had a couple of enjoyable meals out.
The best features for us however was the pool and outside space. The pool was lovely and deep which was great for our kids who were confident swimmers and if you follow the rules about sun cream will stay perfectly clear for the period of your stay. We used that every day and it was great to cool off in the all day and into the evening. There was a great covered area with a dining table we could all fit around, a lounge area and outside fridge. This was used for all our meals allowing shade but ensuring we still enjoyed the outdoors. There was a large BBQ there too which was well used.
Overall it was a great accommodation and as we would like to explore the area some more in the future we would not hesitate about booking it again.
The beautiful, blue flag Arenal beach is only 3 mins drive. The bay has golden sand and gently slopes into the crystal clear water, safe for children. There are also sunbeds, parasols, showers and climbing/play frames. For the more energetic there is windsurfing, sailing, boat hire/trips, pedalos, scuba diving, water skiing, cycling, snorkelling, tennis and jet ski. A short drive away, there are beaches at La Barraca (stoney), Granadella (stoney), The Port (stoney), and Ambola (naturist).
Javea is between Alicante and Valencia airports. Approx 1hr - 1hr 15 mins drive. A hire car is recommended, but not essential. Airport transfers can be arranged.
Within Javea the main Arenal beach is 3 mins drive, "The Port" area is 4 mins drive and the "old town" is 5 mins drive.
Javea is a wonderful place to explore. There are 3 distinct areas. The "Arenal", the wide sandy bay, flanked by numerous restaurants, bars and shops. In the evening, the promenade comes alive and is lined the various stalls selling hand made crafts. (ideal for those presents to take home). The promenade has been completely renovated for the 2014 season. The "Port", where the fishermen still dock, to sell at the fish market. There is a more spanish feel to the front here, again with many bars, restaurants and shops. The historic "Old Town", full of culture, narrow cobbled street, local "tapas" and "paella".
Excursions nearby (all appx 30 mins drive) include:
Mundomar Marine Park, Aqualandia Water Park,
Terra Natura Wildlife Park, Terra Mitica Theme Park,
Safari Park, Caves, Waterfalls (the Fonts d'Agar).
The Jalon and Montgo countryside is breathtaking.
At Valencia there is a great Science Museum and Oceanographic center (marine).
Benidorm has the beaches, shops, restaurants, bars and the "kiss me quick" atmosphere and is a wonderful experience if you have not been there.
Denia beach and harbour (20/30 mins drive) can get you to Ibiza and Majorca by ferry.
