What a fabulous area , wonderful to have close access to the coastal paths and such stunning views . Super little cottage . Loved it all
A nice stay
Location was great to explore that part of cornwall. House was nice size and clean. Only criticism was that although we knew in advance of the extra electricity bill we didn't realise that due to the age and style of the house we would have to put the heating on even in summer to remove the constant damp feeling. The bedding, sofas and some clothes felt damp and towels would never dry out at all. So this bit was a shame and we felt a bit disappointed by the fact that we would have to pay just for the house to feel normal where as other properties we've stayed in electric is inc. We didn't mind opening the windows as per instructions but when raining we had to close them. For the price of the week I was a little disappointed at this aspect. All that said we had a lovely week and Rachel and Chris were welcoming and helpful and the location even though it's on a farm was beautifully quiet
Thank you for your review. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and it was extremely unfortunate that you had the mistiest week of the whole summer. The cottage was completely gutted, damp-proofed and insulated to a very high standard 3 years ago and the cottage is dry and cosy but the weather most certainly was damp and having the windows open would allow the damp to come in. It is a catch 22 as when it's hot the windows should be left open but not when it's bad weather outside. We have always charged for the electricity at cost because we have found that it's the fairest way to do it rather than build it into the rent. best regards, Chris and Rachel
