Situado cerca de la galardonada Fortingall Hotel y la famosa 5,000 años de edad Yew Tree, que está a sólo dos horas de Edimburgo y Glasgow. La zona es rica en belleza y la vida silvestre, situado en el corazón de Perthshire, con sus colinas, lagos, ríos y bosques. La pequeña ciudad de Aberfeldy está a ocho millas de distancia y el pintoresco pueblo de Kenmore en la cabecera del río Tay está a sólo seis millas. Glen Lyon, Escocia el más largo y más hermosa cañada extiende Occidental durante más de 35 millas y la cinta plateada del río Lyon se hace eco de los contornos de la aldea, ya que sigue su camino hacia el Este para unirse a la Tay. Lovely spacious and comfortable location in Glen Lyon and the tiny gem of Fortingall. Great access to Scottish Crannog Center and amazing walks in all directions. Nice little back garden, electric car charge and Hotel Fortingall next door.

Location, location. This charming cottage is right across the street from lush green pastures and sheep. Just steps away is also a hotel that you can pop over for a drink or dine inside. This was the perfect location for our family to take day trips and return to our quaint cottage to enjoy a meal or warm up by the fire. We had a great stay!

Quiet and peaceful village

This was a wonderful cottage that fit our girls group perfectly. We enjoyed the country walks and the Highland cows.

Perfect getaway at the base of the highlands

We spent three nights in this lovely place. It was comfortable, tidy, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for getting a taste of Scotland, away from crowds. Highly recommend.

Lovely, homely property in an excellent location

A spacious, characterful property with a cosy wood burning stove. Perfect location for the many hills and walks in the beautiful Loch Tay area. Had a wonderful stay. Would love to come back. Particularly liked that our dog was welcome.

Wow... what a beautiful place, the Byre is well set out, comfortable and has a wonderful atmosphere

We fell in love with this accommodation as soon as we walked through the door.. it's well equipped, very clean and well situated in some of Scotlands most impressive scenery..... we couldn't have asked for more... the log fire in the evenings was the icing on the cake...

Great home base for our adventures.

We loved staying at The Byre, the location was perfect as a base for our hill walking and Munro bagging, while still being an easy drive away from Glasgow and Edinburgh for city adventures. Coming home to the cozy wood stove after a long day hiking was just perfect, and the well equipped kitchen had all we wanted for cooking meals. Having two bathrooms and such an open living space was just what we needed when family joined us part of the stay.

Hidden gem in Glen Lyon

Lovely cottage, all we needed except TV was very old and we could not access subtitles for my partner who has severe hearing loss. Fortingall Hotel just next door, food excellent.

New Year at the Byre

Lovely property, very comfortable. We hit snowed in but were well supplied and the surroundings just looked magical. Very friendly neighbours and locals. Would return, a lovely festive break.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting!

We enjoyed every aspect of or stay. The cottage was immaculate and had everything required for an enjoyable stay. The owner and caretaker were only a phone call away and only too happy to help when we had a request for an extra evening stay. Nothing was to much trouble. We would definitely recommend the cottage for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area.

Terrific accommodations in a beautiful area of the world. The Byrne was a real joy, perfect in all respects, and we were well cared for by the owner’s representative, Morag. She came to our rescue one night when we had misplaced the house key, and she came without complaint. Words are insufficient to describe our few days in this extraordinary place.

Lovely clean cottage.

Lovely clean cottage, everything you need, only negative is shower in main bathroom not very powerful. Beautiful village so peaceful. Great night in pub playing live music from the locals. Very friendly, although food was expensive and the wine !! We had fantastic weather for beginning of April, Glen Lyon is beautiful and the cafe and art gallery are great. Beautiful part of the country can’t wait to go back in August.

We are passionate about Scotland and the beautiful area of Fortingall. It is such a magical place where time seems to slow down to a much gentler pace. We feel very honoured to own a property in such a fabulous area and the large number of returning guests seem to validate our opinion!

The Byre was converted from a former cattle shed in 2007 along with The Stables, The Salmon House and The Granary in a delightful enclosed courtyard setting. Our home is Perthshire and we adore the tranquility of the area and encouraging visitors to share in the magic and enjoy the countryside.

We love slowing down from the hectic pace of life associated with work and cities. Fortingall is so peaceful and is a superb base for walkers, climbers as well as for those touring around the Scottish Highlands. The Byre is located within a few steps of the Fortingall Hotel, where guests can eat in the restaurant or relax in the cosy bar.
