Grande maison confortable

La maison est spacieuse et conforme à la description. Le portique de jeux a fait la joie de notre petite fille. Nous aurions apprécié d'être accueillis à notre arrivée. Toutefois la propriétaire a été très réactive à nos demandes. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour.

location bien située mais prix et propreté à revoir

La maison est conforme aux photos excepté la cuisine qui est beaucoup plus chargée. La maison est proche du centre ville et des commerces néanmoins le prix est un peu élevé par rapport au bien proposé et la maison n'était pas propre à l'arrivée. Petit conseil : veillez à prendre des photos à votre arrivée de l'état de la maison afin de ne pas avoir de différent avec la propriétaire au départ qui demande à la femme de ménage de le faire pour vous prélever la caution.

Merci de votre revue Valérie, je suis contente de savoir que vous aviez trouvé la maison bien située par rapport au village et l’infrastructure de Hourtin, en effet c’est très pratique. Je suis d’accord avec vous, j’encouragerai des locataires à prendre des photos si la femme de ménage n’est pas présente pour l’arrivée ou départ ; ça protège donc la propriétaire et les locataires des malentendus. Malheureusement les photos prise par la femme de ménage suite a votre départ démontré que la maison était sale et endommagée, c’est pour ça qu’on a retenu une portion de votre caution. Comme je vous ai expliquée depuis que nous louons la maison nous n'avons pas eu à retenir la caution des locataires, mais dans cette situation on avait des frais en plus pour remettre la maison en ordre. Location au top

Nous avons passé une semaine au sein de la maison c etait top. La maison est bien située a 5min du port d Hourtin et 2min du centre ville, a meme pas 5min de Carrefour Market en voiture, 15min de Hourtin plage (ocean), 30min de Carcan, et Lacanau. Nous etions a 6 adultes et 2 enfants (4 et 5 ans) les enfants ont adoré le jardin avec la balancoire et le toboggan, il y a egalement assez d espace pour jouer au ballon et le jardin est sécurisé. On peux faire tt le tour de la maison. L environnement est tres calme. Le barbecue est top il y a tout les ustensiles qu il faut a dispo nous etions tres a l aise! La petite terrasse est parfaite. Il y a une table de ping pong et le materiel nécessaire a dispo aussi, il y a des jeux de société. La maison est spacieuse et bien entretenu, 1 salle de bain et 1 salle d eau bien entretenu aussi c est le top. Il ne manquait de rien. Assez de serviettes pour tout le monde et drap de lit. Nous avons passé un super sejour merci Mme Jennie.

Sehr schönes Objekt.

Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Die Aufteilung der Zimmer ist sehr gut. Der Garten mit Terrasse ist sehr schön und bietet auch für kleine Kinder die Möglichkeit einer Abwechslung. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten bestehen fußläufig. Die Eigentümerin ist hervorragend erreichbar und äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir kommen wieder.

Agréable maison

La maison de Jennie est très bien équipée: il y a vraiment tout ce dont a besoin, rien ne manque: on a vraiment l'impression d'être chez elle. La pergola fleurie de passiflores est très appréciable pour se protéger des grosses chaleurs. La maison est très spacieuse. Nous avions apporté nos vélos pour nous rendre au lac qui est rassurant lorsque vous venez avec des enfants en bas âge. Malgré son éloignement, Jennie est très réactive et disponible pour répondre aux messages.

Tremendous property in an ideal location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our two daughters, it's an ideal place for families, in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to all the local amenities.The house is beautifully decorated and well laid to cater for the needs of a family holiday. The garden is spacious enough for the kids to run around, but well enough enclosed that you won't need to worry about them wandering out or getting lost. The swings and slide in the garden are terrific for small children. We'd start each morning with a trip to the local boulangerie, switching on the coffee machine just before stepping out the door.. The house is close enough to the village that the coffee is just brewed once you get back with freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries. Most days involved a trip to the beach - Hourtin Lake is very close (5 minute drive) and is perfect for smaller children. Hourtin Plage is only slightly further - a beautiful beach and much fresher on the hotter days. There are other terrific beaches along the coast; Lacanau and Carcans in particular, all within a relatively short drive. There are many great restaurants in Hourtin village and closer to the lake, but most of the time we preferred to cook on the barbecue and eat at home. There is a market in the village two mornings a week, and it's difficult to resist the amazingly fresh fish and seafood there. The veranda and pergola make for very pleasant al fresco dining and the built-in barbecue is perfect for grilling and very easy to clean. If eating at home, wander down to the marina at the lake, or as far as Hourtin plage. Treat the family to an ice-cream and take a stroll as the sun sets over the Bay of Biscay. The neighbourhood is peaceful and quiet at night, the bedrooms are cool and sleeping is never a problem. For kids' activities, Children's Island beside the lake is perfect on a hot day. There is also a very basic mini-golf nearby. There are several places on the lake that rent pedalos, paddle boards and bicycles. For older children, Parc de l'Aventure near Montalivet is a great day out. For trips to the city of Bordeaux, drive to Merignac and use the park and ride facility. This property is the perfect holiday home for families looking for a relaxing holiday with a beautiful place to stay.

Fantastic property and garden

This is a truly wonderful property. My husband and I drove from Calais and arrived to an immaculate house with a bottle of wine and chocolates provided to give us a wonderful start to our holiday. The property is really spacious and is really well equipped. We loved the patio area, in particular the bbq which we used most nights. Hourtin village is close by and there are markets there a few times during the week and you can have oysters for breakfast or bring them home to have later in the day if you so desire. There is a really good wine shop in the village also. On our first Sunday evening, there was an event on the green in the village. . . . live music and lots of local foods on sale. We loved the escargots and the huitres! Hourtin port is close by, but not within walking distance. You would need to cycle,which we did, or drive. We went to the firework display on Bastille night. There was also live music that night. We also went to the port to watch a young girl band called Chicco Boom who were truly fantastic. The visit would not have been complete without moules and frites at the port. Bordeaux is an hour's drive and definitely worth a visit. All in all a great holiday. Thank you to the owner and to the people who look after the property.

Villa at Hourtin

The house is very well equipped, clean, spacious and modern. You have the lake 'Lac d'Hourtin' at 10 minutes cycling and the ocean at 15 min driving. On both locations, there are many sportactivities. Going east, you have the wonderful vineyards of the Médoc. Hourtin is a sympathic village, not too big. Hourtin Plage is not at all crowded and yet you find all you need: restaurant, surfing schools and shops.

Perfect Holiday and Perfect House

I stayed in this house in Hourtin for ten days last June with my wife and another couple. Everything about the trip was perfect, from making arrangements with the owners, to the house itself, to the weather. We were travelling from Dublin and flew to Bordeaux where we collected our car. Hourtin is just under an hour away from Bordeaux. All the roads are good and easy to navigate. The house is located about a five minute walk from Hourtin village. I usually started the day by walking to the village for fresh bread and croissants from the bakery. The afternoons we spent either at the lake or the beach. Other days we explored the impressive vineyards and chateaus in the Medoc and visited Bordeaux where my wife managed to drag me to an opera! The house itself is large, airy and spacious with three big bedrooms. The kitchen area is beautiful and everything you need there. My favourite feature is the large stone BBQ on the terrace which we got plenty of use out of during our stay! I'd highly recommend a stay here and will definitely be returning in the future.

Fun for all the family

The house is lovely, very comfortable, clean and spacious, a real home away from home with everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay, from washing machine and tumble dryer to dish washer and hair drier. Many rooms open onto the patio area where we enjoyed sitting out in the evening with a glass of wine, cooking on the built-in barbeque and watching the kids play on the swingset, or indeed breakfasting out there on freshly baked crusty bread and fresh produce from the local market. There is lots to do in the area for kids of all ages, ours really enjoyed surfing lessons at the spectacular beach, as well as paddling and canoeing at the lake. There are many more activities & water sports in the area which are fully detailed in the information pack provided by the owners. We found this very useful as it also lists & describes places to eat both in the local village and at the lakes . One of the highlights of our stay was a drive around the many famous Chateaux in the area and a trip to a local vineyard where we sampled some of the wares. We really had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend this property to families with children.

Ideal family base

Lovely place with plenty of room. Nice private veranda with built in bbq. Owner was easy to contact and helpful. Nicely located for the town close by with its lake. The lake has a beach and suitable for swimming. Nice alternative to sea on windy days or just forf change. Lake also has nice resturant for meals. We visited fort at Blaye and the Dunes at Pyla sur Mer would strongly recommend both. Its quiet so not for clubbers! but if you want a relaxing comfortable place to stay would recommend this place
