Outstanding Experience

The property was very clean and recently renovated. Our hosts were very friendly and gave us excellent information on what to do in the area and where to dine. There is golf very close by and ocean beach within walking distance. Beautiful scenery all around the area. Just an outstanding experience.

Perfect vacation cottage to explore southeast Ireland

Lovely cottage

We had such a lovely stay here. Marie and Tony were very welcoming and communication before our stay was really helpful. The cottage is cozy and well equipped. The location is lovely, we enjoyed the beaches nearby and day trips. Thanks for a great holiday!

Very pleasant stay

Cottage by the sea

Warm and comfortable cottage by the sea. We were greeted warmly by the host who had baked scones to welcome us. Delightful place to stay. Highly recommended.

Lovely Cottage with Excellent Amenities and Hosts

This lovely cottage is the perfect getaway near the sea. Fully equipped and extremely comfortable, it offers everything you need for a restful vacation. The hosts, Marie and Tony, are wonderful and welcoming, even greeting guests with homemade scones, butter and jam. The location is ideal for walking to the nearby beaches or the city of Dungarvan. Lovely home base for a visit

A lovely place to use as a home base. Especially if you are exploring Kinsale, Blarney, Cork, Cobb, Jameson and Waterford. Marie and Tony were delightful. The cottage does have steep stairs to the bedrooms but a wonderful cozy stay!

All around great

We and our children felt very welcome at Marie and Tony's. There was even a lovely surprise waiting for us when we arrived. The house was really charming, comfortably furnished and very well equipped. The sea is just a few meters from the house, very idyllic. We have very fond memories of our stay, thank the hosts for their hospitality and will definitely return.

Beautiful cottage

Great cottage with all amenities. New WiFi is excellent. A few issues with hot water but I am sure they can easily be fixed.

Lovely area and cottage

I cannot say enough nice things about our stay in Dungarvan and at the Thatched roof cottage. Marie & Tony were exceptional hosts - they even went out of their way to book tee times for our family of 4 at the Gold Coast Golf course. We only stayed for 4 nights, but they were the best 4 nights our of our 2 week driving tour through Ireland. We hope to return to this area of Ireland again and when we do - we will rent the cottage for a full week....

Perfection and the best Irish hospitality

we always wanted to stay in a thatched cottage. From the first inquiry email to our visit, Marie and Tony we "above and beyond". Other owners on Home Away could learn from them. Directions were perfect, and our stay was a highlight of our first visit to Ireland. Great location to day trip (Waterford, Lismore, etc) Cottage was perfect.. cozy.. but Marie and Tony were the best!! Who knew Dungarvan would have the best restaurants on our visit!

Everything we needed.

The Gold Coast Golf course is literally across the road. Beaches within walking distance. Birds everywhere. We are golfers, hikers and birders. We saw a little red fox roaming around. The amenities were as expected, very clean, quite, well organized and up to date.

A quiet holiday retreat

We spent a comfortable week in this immaculate, well equipped and beautifully presented cottage, and it was the perfect refuge from some terrible November weather. The O'Sullivans - Marie and Tony - are considerate and friendly hosts, despite the fact that neither for us are golfers. The only very slight downsides for us were a weak mobile signal indoors (thick walls) and the very basic wifi: but ours was a holiday visit after all...

Lovely country getaway!

Lovely country cottage just off the Greenway. Bring your bikes and explore! Super near the Clonea Strand for a sand beach. Rocky beach meters away. Golf course across the road. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Just watch your heads upstairs as it is a thatch cottage. Lovely ambiance. Super nice owners.

Great value

Lovely little place. Had everything you could need. Great hosts. They came and picked us up in town the day we arrived! A touch on the small side but perfect for our needs. A car is an absolute must. 10 minute drive out of town. Great value for money. Beautiful peaceful location in the countryside. 5 min walk to a beach at either end of the road. Beautiful little town. Would highly recommend

Delightful, restful and so quiet

We had a very restful stay at the cottage. Strolling down to the beach each morning and watching the tides with the grand children was great fun. off they ran into the water in their wet suits. Such fun they had. We all looked for little crabs in the rock pools. Hours of enjoyment were had. We watched the sea gulls dive for fish. Too soon the holiday was over. We'll be back

My name is Marie. My husband Tony's home place is about 15min. drive away. Several of his siblings are living in the area. We have always loved the beaches here and have spent many summer days walking the beaches of Clonea, Stradbally, Bunmahon, Annestown and Boatstrand. We both play golf and are spoiled for choice with 3 golf courses within a few minutes from the cottage.

The reason we bought here is, it is a unique location, adjacent to golf courses, fishing and beaches. We love to walk in Colligan Woods or to stroll up to the Mahon Falls. We go for walks on Clonea beach nearly every day. Sometimes we cycle into Dungarvan using the cycle paths provided. They are so safe. We bring our grandchildren on the paths with us. The Deise Grreenway is now open so you can walk / Cycle to Waterford on the Greenway from Dungarvan . We go over to Durrow and go through the tunnel and onto the viaduct. The views from the Greenway are fabulous. Children love to cycle /walk down to the beach near the cottage and search for crabs etc in the pools on the rocks. The location of the cottage is great for travelling around the south of Ireland.

We play lots of golf. You can play all 3 three course in Dungarvan for €69 - great value and wonderful courses. If you are over 50 you can get even better value on open days for seniors. Waterford Castle golf course is Both of these are wonderful courses. We have a house close to the cottage.We really enjoy Dungarvan with its many eating spots, pubs with traditional music.You must not miss the pub in the Square named The Local if you love traditional music.
Sometimes when we feel energetic we cycle into Dungarvan town using the cycling paths. Really safe if you have children. The Deise greenway is now open . Great to cycle, jog or walk along.
