Beautiful Villa

My family and I had a fantastic time during our stay. Our hosts, James and Lynn were amazing and so helpful. The Villa is absolutely beautiful and in a great location near plenty of restaurants and the beach.Thank you so much for having us!

Just back from a week with the family (9 of us). Villa was fantastic. Good location from La Cala de Mijas (walkable) and plenty of room for all of us.James and Lynne were fantastic hosts - great communication - available when we needed them and whole process from booking to departure was smooth.Would use again / would highly recommend

Lovely comfortable villa

We had a lovely week in this villa. James was so helpful with the check-in process as we arrived early and was able to drop our bags and hire car off. The villa has plenty of space and the garden and pool was great for the kids. Would happily stay there again.

Super Villa

Great Villa in a great location. If you dont fancy the super pool at the Villa then the beach is a 5 minute walk away. The communication with the managers, James and Lynn, was first class. Their communication was excellent, both prior to and during our stay. They greeted us on our arrival and gave us useful information about the area. This is a great place to spend a family holiday and I have no reservations about recommending Villa Koala to anyone.

Enjoyable week

The property was great, everything was as described. It was very hot and windy while we were there so couldn’t have umbrellas up. A gazebo/shaded area would have been good. Great communication with owners who were very helpful.

Apparently July 2023 was the hottest on the Costa since records began, accompanied by strong winds makes it difficult for parasols or awnings to be an effective way of giving shade. We will look into ways of creating a shaded area for the future. Thank you for your feedback.

Nice place but the electrical issues made our vacation the worst ever

tl;dr with the issues we had, I would not recommend staying. Maybe we had bad luck, but I would not risk my vacations going to a place where that can happen ---------- The property looks as described. Frank, the manager was kind and helpful during all the stay, although unfortunately we had to see him everyday. However our stay was awful because of 3 issues. 2 relatively minor: - The interior was clean but the exterior was not - There were a lot of ants, specially in the kitchen so we had to buy traps to keep them under control, but they ate some of our food in the kitchen The worst part; the house had very important and unsafe electrical issues. Me and my wife received 2 scary electric discharges from our macbook while it was connected to the outlet, and our power outlets were burned. 2 of our adapters EXPLODED, and we also saw other EXPLOSIONS of lights around the house. Lights would be dimming up and down and we could not turn on the air condition. This started happening our 2nd day and was not fixed until the day before we left. James, the owner, sent an electrician a couple of times who couldn’t solve the problem and then another one 3 days later who did work with the electrical company to solve it. We basically had people in the house most of the vacation. He also offered us to find another place and refund only the remaining days but of course it was not a viable option for us in the middle of the vacation after 2 days waiting to fix it and with only a few days left. According to the electrician the issue is that the electrical installation in the area is really old and poorly maintained. Because it is a generic issue in the area, James did not take any accountability and directed us to make any claim to the electric company or our insurance, but did not offer any kind of compensation. Also when I asked about taking accountability he was very rude to me and told me I already got a discount and that “If I cannot afford a place like that I shouldn’t rent it”. Not sure why he thought I cannot afford it but this didn’t seem to me like the best way to respond to someone who had such a horrible experience Honestly, it was very disappointing. We had a hard time sleeping without AC, we had to be pending on the phone to talk to the electricians, we couldn’t use laptop or charge phones and we felt unsafe when things exploded. Even if I trusted that the issue was beyond the owners control, it was sad to see him taking no accountability for it

There was a power surge, caused by endessa the electric company outside in the street which was beyond our control. This does happen in Spain. All the villas in the street were affected at the same time. We did everything we possibly could to ensure that our guests were looked after, and safe, and we feel that this review is unfairly critical of our individual property

Hermosa casa “vintage” con jardín junto a la playa

La casa es grande, espaciosa, con una distribución muy cómoda y con todo lo que se pueda necesitar. Es una preciosa casa antigua rehabilitada “vintage” con piscina propia y un jardín muy amplio y bonito. Conserva su grandiosidad y es muy amplia y espaciosa para un número elevado de personas. El precio es alto en relación al confort que ofrece: las camas son antiquísimas y terriblemente incómodas. Su localización es inmejorable, a solo 5 minutos andando de una playa limpia y tranquila que cuenta con todos los servicios necesarios (accesibilidad, duchas y restaurante). James, su anfitrión fue muy amable y nos ayudó en todo lo que le pedimos. Aunque no tuvimos problemas con nuestro inglés, habríamos agradecido un anfitrión hispanohablante, tratándose de una casa en España.

Sería necesario una renovación de los baños y la cocina. Imprescindible cambio de camas y colchones. La longitud de las camas es escasa. La atención del propietario ha sido excelente y ha solucionado las incidencias rapidamente

Thank you for your review. The villa is a traditional Andalusian style property and we have retained its original features. The kitchen and tiling are hand made and original. It is well equipped and the appliances are modern and fully functional. The bathrooms are original and again have Andalusian hand made tiling on the walls. One bathroom has been updated with walk in shower for less able guests. The bathrooms are fully functional. Whilst this style of property appeals to most people because of its originality these guests found the decor a little dated. With regards to the beds, we have taken on board the comments we will make changes at the end of this season.

Absolutely fantastic two weeks in this great villa. Pool was superb and great access to beach and Cala Mijas. Our hosts were absolute stars making sure we had everything for our stay and answered all our questions really quickly. The A/C went off and our host was straight round to fix. Couldn't have asked anymore from them, super. Thank you so much xx

Covid postponed family holiday 2022

A family of 10x stayed at James & Lynn's villa in Cala de Mijas and thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. The villa was clean & organised with great facilities. The hosts couldn't have been any better with ongoing contact and support before the holiday and throughout; as well as being really friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. We all agreed we would definitely look to book again when possible.

Fabulous Villa

We had a fabulous stay in the villa. It had everything we needed and was in a great location. The layout of the villa was fabulous with the lounge next to the main patio and the pool was perfectly clear and clean. Frank was on hand if we needed him and Frank and the owners made sure everything was in order. They even checked up by message to ensure evrything was ok. It could not have been a better holiday.

For a languid and tranquil holiday with options for a round of golf, great food, nightlife; there is no place to stay than, this lovely villa in El Chaparral, Mijas Costa, Costa Del Sol. The first time I stayed here, I fell completely in love with all that it could offer. Privacy in lovely grounds with a clean pool in idyllic surrounding with exceptional views in every direction. Nap in the terrace under the shade or read a book by the pool, whatever is your preference, the owners have thought of and provided for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped whether you want to make a romantic dinner or a sumptuous lunch for friends. The bedrooms are roomy and decorated simply but tastefully. We found everything we needed just a short distance away. The lovely fishing village is friendly and offers all types of cuisine. The beach, a short walk away, is clean and calm. I have stayed here several times and each time our holiday comes to an end, we can't wait to come back.

We have just come back from this wonderful villa. We have had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Thank you to the owners. The booking process was reassuring, trouble and stress free (none of these nasty stories we keep hearing about).Once there, we were met by the villa manager who is on hand throughout to take care of you during your stay. He did shopping for us from a list which was in the villa before we arrived, and he turned up within a few minutes when we struggled to work the TV. The villa itself is beautiful. Clean, well equipped and perfectly located. It has everything you could possibly need and more. Our holiday was perfect but the owners and manager go the whole way to make sure of that. The children loved the pool and the facilities. It was our best holiday ever and we will definitely be back. Thank you for much

Absolutely wonderful time

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this villa, internet notwithstanding. The villa is so well equipped, some places we've been to there's barely been enough kitchen equipment to boil an egg. The location was also perfect for us, far enough out of town to be quiet but only a 15 minute walk to the heart of things. You might well be hearing from us again. I really can't think of any improvements, it suited us down to the ground. I've put a review on TripAdvisor which should appear shortly. Many thanks Paul Kind regards Paul PS: No internet meant I couldn't do any work, so that's a good thing as far as I am concerned! My son however did miss playing online games, so had to get out in the fresh air instead. :-) ________________________________________

Thank you for your kind comments, we are glad that the accommodation suited you and your family so well. Many apologies regarding the WiFi. We did try to resolve this during your stay, and as you know, an engineer visited the villa as soon as you reported the fault to us. The problem lay with MOVISTAR the internet provider and regrettably this was not rectified until after you had left. Apparently this, (and electrical power cuts) are quite common in Spain and it was completely beyond our control. We are happy that this did not spoil your holiday and thank you for having such a positive attitude towards the problem. We would be happy to welcome you back to our villa.
