Strikingly stylish in an enviable and beautiful location, this property has been restored to a high standard in 2014. Large open plan living areas and well proportioned bedrooms give a real sense of light and space. This has been accentuated by the white washed walls and south facing rooms overlooking the terraces, gardens and heated pool. La Badoussie is a Perigordian stone house with attached converted barn providing 5 generous bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms and a modern well-equipped kitchen. There's a lot of space for children too: in addition to the pool they will love playing in the lawned gardens or exploring the wooded areas beyond. La Badoussie is set within the Perigord Noir, famed for its history, cuisine, châteaux and stunningly pretty villages. The house is 4km from the famous Perigordian village of Daglan, 10 km from the River Dordogne and 20km from the Renaissance town of Sarlat.

Pool / Spa
This house is perfect for a large family or 2 families to share, Colleen & David had thought of everything. The house is not only beautiful but had the most stunning view. We opted to have the pool heated which I think was money well spent as the children were never out of it. The surrounding area is one we know well and the property is very well located to explore the stunning local villages. The outside space worked really well for evening meals on the terrace. We did venture in to Dalgan for provisions and had a meal at Le Petit Paris, which was exceptional considering how rural you are. We had our car and this is a must as there are no amenities within walking distance but within a 30 minute drive you can certainly explore the very best the Dordogne has to offer, even if you are only staying for a week, as we were.
I wrote a "Top Tip" in the guest book but wanted to share it here too as this was one of the unexpected highlights of our holiday. We are not astronomers but due to the lack of light pollution on a clear night the stars were literally dazzling, a truly amazing spectacle, on one night alone we saw 4 shooting stars!
Thank you David & Colleen for sharing your beautiful house, we very much enjoyed it being "ours" for a week!
Beautiful location; beautiful house
We had a fantastic family reunion here in late June. All generations loved the pool. We sat up late and watched the heavens fill with stars. Convenient for Sarlat-la-Canéda and Lascaux IV.
Amazing! Spectacular! Absolutely perfect!
It's hard to put into words how great our time was at La Badoussie. David and Colleen were gracious and accommodating from the very beginning of our contact, and once we stepped into the house our party of 10 felt like we were home. History and authenticity were evoked at every turn, while offering every modern convenience. Plenty of room for all. Classy decor. Lovely indoor-outdoor set-up. Breathtaking views. Spot-on advice. Ideal location. We could go on and on. If we are fortunate to make it back to the Dordogne, we all agreed that there would be no need to look any further that La Badoussie for accommocations - because you can't improve upon perfection. Many thanks for helping us have an unforgettable holiday in France, starting with the perfect home base.

Absolutely fabulous, not one wrinkle!
"Dear Colleen, Our stay in your gorgeous property was fabulous! Everything was perfect, from the beautiful house , the landscape, the perspective and the location in itself. The spread of the bedrooms was exactly what we needed for our family, so everyone had his/her own niche ; the interior decoration is elegant and discrete; the kitchen is very well equipped, although an extra large frying pan would have been welcomed to make my pomme de terre Sarladaises avec cèpes for 10 hungry people; the pool is great and the children throughly enjoyed it every late afternoon after some visits in the region; the house itself was impeccably clean and ready for our enjoyment. We had dinner outside almost every night facing the exquisite panorama of my beloved Dordogne. Our love for your house can be summarized in the tears of Mason, my 4 year old grand-son who did not want to leave to go to Paris, where I was raised and where I brought my sons every summer before going to Mauzac where my family estate was. In short, every single adult and child in our family simply loved your house and wants to come back in the future. It was perfect.❤️"
Home from home with all the bells and whistles of a stunning holiday retreat.
The accommodation was absolutely excellent, well positioned for exploring the region and had all of the amenities you cold wish for.
The local attractions are on the doorstep and the roads are excellent / traffic light in comparison to the UK.
Local markets and food excellent, we had an amazing time and felt thoroughly relaxed.
Our return flight was cancelled and our hosts couldn’t help enough to ease the pain and we stayed an extra four days.
I can’t thank our hosts enough for providing us with an outstanding and wonderful holiday home.
We hope return soon.
Idyllic property for a large family holiday
We spent just over a week at the property in mid-June. As a family of 4 with the grandparents in tow it was a marvellous base from which to explore the picturesque area just south of the Dordogne river. The quality of the finish in the property, the space and the amenities were second to none. The owners were very flexible and were an invaluable help when we realised we had left something of value in the property. The property would work very well for large groups / multi-generational. Of particular note were the views across the rolling hills - easy to spend hours looking out from the pool! In terns of local attractions the local town of Daglan was beautiful and had some excellent restaurants / Sunday market. Our favourite was the bakery in Chateau Castelnaud which was a daily favourite! Thank you and we hope to be back again soon
