Easy check in and very helpful when we had the wrong adapter! There was only soap- no shampoo- so be sure to bring your own :) Amazing views:)

The apartment is amazing at the top of the bell tower -76 steps! But well worth the climb. The old monastery is amazing to walk around and there is a beautiful billiards room and pool available to guests. You are also a short stroll to the lovely pubs and restaurants along the locks of Fort Augustus.Would highly recommend this apartment.

Amazing View!!

This property was stunning from beginning to end. The entire stay was enjoyable and the views of Loch Ness were amazing. The only unpleasant thing about the entire stay is the amount of stairs to reach the apartment but after the first day they got easier.

Amazing place

My fiancé and I truly enjoyed staying here, the location right on the loch is beautiful and the apartment itself is stunning. Plus all the activities available and great places to eat nearby make this stop well worth it.

UNREAL!!! we stayed in the monastery apartment which had unbelievable views, fully furnished kitchen. The whole property came with stunning amenities. The only room for improvement is with the pool you can only use it for an hour a day from 9-5 and need to prebook. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Beautiful property in an incredible location.

My family could not have had a better stay. The property was exactly as listed, the gentleman that met us to show us around was great. If I travel to the area again I would definitely try to stay there again.

Gloriously pleased

Our stay was straight out of the storybooks, feeling like a contemporary Rappunzel and partner!!! The bell tower was AMAZING!!!! A great mix of abbey history and modern conveniences. The views of Loch Ness enchanting and sleeping in the tower with the winds blowing was all that!! A must book! Paul was extremely helpful with check in and our questions. The stairs were a piece of cake and the views that awaited us were so worth it.

Monastery Tower

Fantastic property. Steeped in history and the location is centrally located for easy access to beautiful spots north and south. Lovely hiking trails within walking distance. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Amazing Location and View

Spent a week at this amazing location. All the facilities at the Highland Club were excellent and the Location perfect. We ate at the Lovett Hotel which was amazing and the Boathouse restaurant with the friendliest staff and great food. For touring this location is perfect with instant access to the main roads. Highly recommend but beware the 78 steps to the Apartment, not for the unfit especially with Luggage :-)

Spectacular apartment in a stunning location

This apartment exceeded our expectations. Located in an historic converted monastery on lovely grounds with views of Loch Ness, this apartment just dripped with atmosphere while still delivering on modern comforts. It was very comfortable, and the views were stunning. Please note that reaching the apartment requires ascending several flights of stairs, and there is no elevator, which might be challenging for people with disabilities or physical limitations.

A weekend in The Abbey

What an absolutely lovely place!! Getting our luggage up there was a bit breathtaking, but the views and the quietness was wonderful. Ft Augustus is just across the street and very charming. Be sure to check out the Boathouse Restaurant, you wont be disappointed. This is a very unique place to stay in a great location

Sarah and I moved to Scotland in 2010 after some 15 years in London. At first I continued to commute down south for a few days each week and Sarah worked in Dundee. We now have a young family, I work in Edinburgh and we are both loving the lifestyle up here.

My family are originally from Scotland and we wanted somewhere more relaxing to live and with access to the countryside. It has been a great move for us and we are really well settled in now.

We bought the Monastery Tower in 2007 for a holiday apartment for ourselves whilst we were living in London. Very quickly the area became very special to us. We got married in Urquhart Castle and had our wedding reception in Fort Augustus.

Loch Ness is probably the most talked about strip of water in the world. "Nessie" may get most of the coverage the loch itself is truly beautiful and, whatever the weather, it is so peaceful looking across it at the hills and mountains.

But it's not all about the loch. The surrounding area is just as charming. There are so many interesting walks, many from the town itself and the sights are amazing.

St Benedict's Abbey was redeveloped as luxury holiday apartments a few years ago and named the Highland Club. The grounds are lovely, the architecture is stunning and its location is fantastic.

There are a number of facilities in the Abbey itself that guests can enjoy such as snooker (full size table), swimming, croquet, tennis and table tennis. Walking around the grounds is a real pleasure. There is a children's climbing frame.

All of the apartments in the Highland Club offer something special and they are all so different that there is probably no such thing as the "best" apartment. However, we bought the Monastery Tower as we wanted 360 degree views of the area and, in particular, an unrestricted view of Loch Ness. If it is views that you want, then you really won't find a better choice at the Abbey.

December 2017 UPDATE - the swimming pool renovations are complete and the pool in the Highlands Club is now open.
January 2018 UPDATE - The sauna and steam room renovations are complete and are now open.
