Cottage à Brampton (près d'Aylsham), Norfolk

Dove Cot est un charmant cottage de 200 ans en brique et silex situé dans le charmant village de Brampton sur la rivière Bure. Il dispose de 2 chambres (l'une menant à l'autre) et peut accueillir 2 plus 1 enfant (éventuellement 3 adultes si cela ne leur dérange pas le manque d'intimité des chambres adjacentes). Le chalet est plein de caractère et conserve de nombreuses caractéristiques originales - comme l'escalier à enrouleur Norfolk et le four à pain. Il a le chauffage central complet ainsi qu'un feu ouvert dans le salon. La propriété est très bien équipée et la décoration et l'ameublement sont de très haute qualité. Brampton est idéalement situé entre Norwich, la côte nord de Norfolk et les Broads. Il y a beaucoup de belles promenades dans les environs, plusieurs directement du chalet - les prairies aquatiques de la rivière Bure sont un endroit merveilleux pour étudier les oiseaux et un endroit préféré pour les aquarellistes. Brampton est à seulement 4,8 km du bourg historique d'Aylsham et à 8 km de la merveilleuse propriété du National Trust de Blickling Hall. En plus de marcher, Norfolk est un endroit idéal pour faire du vélo et des canoës peuvent être loués localement pour un voyage le long de la rivière. Brampton est à 19 km de Norwich. À 19 kilomètres de Cromer et Overstrand. 11 kilomètres de Wroxham et des Broads.

Beautiful Norfolk Cottage

we stayed 3 nights in October, the cottage is beautiful and rustic, very well equipped with all you could need or want, parking is not a problem as there is a large lay by/pull in 20 yards from the cottage well off the lane. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Fiona.

We chose this property as it was in a good location for walking and cycling. The house was small but perfectly adequate for a couple. It was well equipped and cosy despite the winter weather.

Beautiful cottage in Brampton Norfolk

The cottage was everything we could have wished for.Cute period cottage with some original features.There was everything that we needed for our stay.Small sunny garden to relax in Fiona the owner was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us.Will definitely visit again . All the neighbours were very friendly and gave us information on places to go.

The cottage had heat and hot water. Some of the Electrical Appliances and furniture needed updating. And it should be explained that the stairs are very narrow and not suitable for anyone with a disability.

A stunning Norfolk cottage and an ideal peaceful country getaway. We had a wonderful weekend away and loved all the original features of this traditional 200 year old property alongside the comfortable additions of modern living. The location suited us perfectly to reach a lovely seal beach at Horsey Gap and trip to Great Yarmouth. Norwich wasn't far away and we walked along the river there on our first evening. There's a great fish and chip shop in the next village at Buxton, only a short drive. The cottage has everything you’ll need in the form of appliances, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The shower is lovely and powerful, very relaxing after a day on the beach. The bedrooms are larger than expected with comfortable beds. The three of us, found the property had plenty of space for us all. Our daughter didn’t mind having an adjoining room. You will find your stay very cosy and welcoming. Parking isn’t far from the cottage, it is opposite Street Farm entrance on The St next to the paper and bottle recycling containers which we made use of. Highly recommended accommodation. We will definitely come back again.

Brampton Stay

The property , was has described , clean and tidy well located . The only problem my wife and I had . Was the heating was not on when we arrived and we had problems with it while we were here . Hot water wasn’t on long enough . Overall this place needs some loving care and attention . A combo boiler would be more efficient and give consent hot water . A welcome pack would have been nice and bath towels provide would be good too. Maybe we have been spoilt in the past . Hope Fiona takes this on board going forward it would make this property a 1st class accommodations while keeping the authentic Look of the property . Location spot on . Maybe the little bit of land beside the house could be tidied up and made into a car parking space .

Une adorable maison de hobbit

Un logement très agréable. Nous avons trouvé la clé facilement. On dispose d'un séjour avec cheminée, d'une petite cuisine bien équipée avec un four à pain. Un passage vers le jardin. Nous ne l'avons pas utilisé en décembre. Salle de bain ok. Pour accéder aux chambres au premier étage, on monte un escalier bien étroit et raide. On peut se tenir, c'est faisable. Les deux chambres sont agréables. La petite séparée de la grande par deux marchés. Literie bonne et lits faits. En période de fêtes, il y avait un petit sapin et des guirlandes de lumière. Merci Fiona !

Lovely cottage in peaceful location

Although the cottage appears small, there was pretty much every amenity inside (we only found the hair dryer when we were leaving). We did a wash half way through our two week stay and it dried really quickly as the cottage was so cosy and warm. It was a great base for exploring Norfolk. We are keen birdwatchers so could get to Cley quite easily (where we also so an otter) and even managed a 6.30am start at Snettisham to witness a spectacular Knot murmuration. Enjoyed the independent cinema in Cromer and loved Sculthorpe Owl and Hawk reserve. Tried to see the aurora as quite dark skies in Bramford but unfortunately wasn't successful.

wonderful holiday cottage .

Fiona was lovelyn nothing to much trouble for her.The cottage is old and quirky but lovely. It was ideal for us as a retired couple a lovely quiet place, a very pretty village with very friendly people.we can’t thank Fiona enough.we was very intrigued with the curly stairs lovely stone floors throughout the ground floor a beautiful property.

Wonderful cottage

I used the cottage for two nights as a base for hair and make up on my wedding day and also as accommodation for two of my bridesmaids. Kate checked us in and came to get a photo of me in my dress! She is such a lovely person and was there to help with anything we might’ve needed. A highlight for me was the little cat I met in the garden, such a sweetie. Thank you so much!

Fiona and Tim Scott worked as schoolteachers in Derbyshire for many years, but are now retired and live permanently in Trinity Cottage (which is attached to Dove Cot). They bought the cottage many years ago for holidays, partly because Tim is from Norwich and they had both always loved Norfolk, but also because it filled all their needs for family holidays, situated as it is near the sea, the Broads, Norwich and the wonderful countryside and bird sanctuaries of North Norfolk.

We bought Trinity cottage and its annexe cottage (now Dove Cot) when we first married, as we lived in a school house and wanted somewhere to go in the holidays. We chose Norfolk because we both loved the area, and enjoy walking, cycling, and other outdoor pursuits, as well as the wonderful fresh air and good weather. Brampton is a very pretty village nestling near the water meadows of the Bure River, just 3 miles from the beautiful historic market town of Aylsham and 11 miles from the stunning mediaeval city of Norwich.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Dove Cot was built in the 18th century in flint and Norfolk clay lump, with brick facing. The property is renovated to a high standard whilst retaining all the character of such a historic building. The cottage is centrally heated, but also has an open fire in the sitting room. The staircase is rather steep and twisty (so possibly not suitable for the very elderly), but the whole building exudes charm and cosiness. The surroundings are beautiful and particularly peaceful, as Brampton is not on a 'through' road.
