About Riki Riley
When we unexpectedly found ourselves without jobs after many years of commuting to London we decided to do something completely different - a real lifestyle change. So we bought our dream home in North Cornwall and haven't looked back. Our 5 children are independent and still live in SW London. Between us we are proud grandparents to 10 grandchildren. We have two surrogate babies, brothers Bubble and Squeak, who we rescued from Cats Protection in 2015. We're both keen photographers and walkers - both of which go very much hand in hand here. We both worked in London for many years, working for a global publishing company. Riki now works as a care worker in a residential home, whilst Martin maintains and improves the farmhouse, its buildings and land. Our aim is that guests thoroughly enjoy the Barn, its location, and the surrounding area.

Why Riki Riley chose Morwenstow
We knew instantly that this was the home for us. It offers the best of everything - North Cornwall is unspoilt and yet we're just a few miles from some spectacular coastline and beaches. It's in a quiet rural hamlet and yet you can get to the Atlantic Highway (A39) quickly, which links North Devon to South Cornwall. So we're easy to find. Woolley is a very friendly community and made us feel very welcome from the start. And there are such a variety of things to do - walking, swimming, surfing, eating cream teas, coasteering, gardens and stately homes to name but a few.
What makes this Barn unique
You can park outside the cottage, enjoy a glass of wine in the private seating area and have a BBQ. From the kitchen window you can watch a variety of birds gorge themselves on the bird feeder. Our farm overlooks the Marsland Valley which is home to the Marsland Nature Reserve. This boasts a wonderful display of butterflies, ancient woodland and heath that stretches out to the coast, managed by the Devon Wildlife Trust. It is a truly magical, undiscovered spot.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Location is excellent can easily get to Devon and cornwall. The barn was very clean and well equipped with everything need to make the place feel like home. The owners are very polite and knowledgeable.
The property lived up to all our expectations. Great communication with friendly owners. Very accessible yet private cottage with lovely sunny (most days) courtyard. A wealth of nearby days out, despite the area being mistly for walkers we found something everyday to do for someone on crutches. The Bude seapool was absolutely magical first thing in the morning before the crowds.
This is our Fourth visit to Woolley Barn. We had a lovely time. We visited Summerleaze Beach in Bude with our dog Kai. Lovely place to stay with plenty to see and do! We look forward to returning! From Karen & Matt & Kai.
Peaceful and relaxing stay.
Lovely, clean, well-equipped and comfortable barn conversion in a very tranquil setting.
Ideally situated for exploring both Cornwall and Devon.
Excellent, thoughtful and helpful hosts who provided two packs of useful information, containing tourist attraction leaflets, maps of the surrounding area, walking routes and places to eat, etc.
We appreciated the welcome pack, which included fresh eggs from their own hens.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay there and look forward to returning.
Our whole experience of this property was great. As described, with good facilities, accessible to all we wanted, and there’s a hedgehog! What more could you want? We are walkers & it’s just on the cusp of amazingly good walks- challenging to moderately hard. But plenty of easier ones around too.
We happily stayed at Woolley Barn for 10 days. The accommodation was well set up, the hosts were welcoming and there was lots of information and recommendations about local attractions. We would highly recommend this property.
East Woolley Barn is in the Cornish parish of Morwenstow, which has the most spectacular stretch of coastline - infamous for its many shipwrecks.
We provide guests with an annotated Ordnance Survey map of our favourite local walks. So you can discover hidden gems that only the locals know about, in an unspoilt area of north Cornwall/Devon.
In Morwenstow you'll also find the 13th century Bush Inn, and Rectory Tea Rooms, both steeped in history. A short walk away you'll stumble across Hawkers Hut on the cliff edge, the National Trust's smallest property.
Welcombe Mouth Beach is just 14 minutes, drive with its spectacular rock formations. And Sandymouth is our nearest sandy beach 15 minutes' drive away. There are many other sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore.
It takes only 5 minutes to reach Kilkhampton, our nearest village, which boasts an excellent small Co-Op, Post Office, two pubs, Chinese takeaway and chippie with cafe.
Our local pubs are The Smithy in Welcombe, and the Bush Inn in Morwenstow, both offering food, and about 10 minutes' drive away. The nearest town is Bude, 20 minutes' drive away, with Morrisons, Lidl, B&M, and an eclectic mix of independent shops, Sea Pool and two sandy beaches. Enjoy a cocktail at the Beach Hotel overlooking the sea, or brave a dip in the sea pool.
